I bought this dress a few years ago to wear to a backyard party in the middle of July. It was one of those summers where the temperatures were already at 100 degrees in June. I wanted a light sundress that would be good for an early evening BBQ. I fell in love with this floral pattern because it has a darker background yet still lots of bright pops of color. I paired it with wedges and a clutch and had a fantastic time at my party. A month or so passed and I was dying to wear this dress again. I decided to restyle the dress from a weekend to office look. The bare shoulders and thin straps were my first office issue to tackle. The easiest fix for me was a short sleeved cardigan. I love how the purple shade compliments the floral color pattern of the dress. This cardigan is super lightweight and short sleeved so it works in warmer months. I wear this cardigan quite a bit in Spring and early Fall trying to get a few more wears out of some of my favorite dresses! I plan on looking for a few different colors this year. I also have a black and a white short sleeved cardigan because those colors go with everything! I have recently seen some fun white and dark pink blazers in stores and on friends, and I think they would also be a great way to make a summer dress more professional. The next change to make this office ready was the shoes. I can get away with wearing wedges in my office, but I know most are not so lucky. I swapped my sandals for a peep-toe nude pump. I chose nude because I love how it elongates the leg. This dress also looks good with dark brown heels. Best part of this outfit, you can easily transition to drinks on a patio after work by simply taking off your cardigan. It is just a small add and a quick swap, and you can take your favorite sundresses and make them a little more office friendly.
