You have probably heard about the big Nordstrom Anniversary Sale going on right now. My favorite purchase from last year is this month’s beauty feature! I picked up some fab deals on boots, tops, and jewelry, but this little Clarisonic Mia 2 was my favorite and best deal of the sale. I purchased this in store on the first weekend the sale opened to the public. A rep from Clarisonic was there to show me how the system worked and explained a little about the benefits of exfoliation. If you do not currently exfoliate, I highly recommend looking into some sort of system. Exfoliating helps prevent the signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles, prevents breakouts by keeping pores clear, evens out your skin tone, and improves the absorption of your moisturizers. I only exfoliate my face 1-2 times per week. Some people say they do it more, but I think more can be a little too irritating on my skin. Exfoliating is basically removing all the dead skin cells allowing the beautiful new skin underneath to shine through.
I use my Clarisonic as part of my night routine. After washing my face with my regular face wash, I apply some of the Clarisonic Refreshing Gel Cleanser on my face, and then turn on my Clarisonic Mia. It is set to a two minute time frame with small beeps about every 30 seconds for you to evenly exfoliate your entire face. I start with my forehead move to my nose and chin, and then do each cheek/side of face area. After I am done, I rinse off my face and the Clarisonic brush. I then immediately apply my night cream. By ridding your face of dead skin cells, your new skin will better absorb the night cream. I am always trying new night creams, and I haven’t settled yet on a favorite. My current one is Olay Firming Cream. If you have one you love, please leave it in the comments and I will try it out. The Clarisonic Mia system that I use is back on this year’s Anniversary Sale list. I received a better deal including a full size cleanser and extra brushes by purchasing in store last year. I can’t promise the same this year, but it may be worth it to stop by the beauty counter to see what extra specials they might have. I also listed some other alternative exfoliating brushes below at varying price points.
