Western style is having a moment, and this Texas gal is here for it. The Texas State Fair is in its last week, and my hometown had its county fair a few weeks ago which are both a great chance to break out your western wear. You don’t need cowboy boots and fringe to make the perfect western outfit. A little denim and turquiose will go a long way to creating a fall western inspired outfit.
For the two Texas events I mentioned, layers are a great option since the weather could be hot or cool. A light blue denim shirt is perfect for early fall and looks great layered over a simple white cami or tank top. To create contrast with my denim, I paired this light blue with a black skinny jean. A dark blue would work as well. In lieu of cowboy boots, I opted for my western style brown booties. Any pair of brown booties or boots will work with this outfit. The perfect way to complete your fall western inspired outfit is with a touch of turquoise. I went with my turquoise gold bangle, but earrings or a necklace would also work.
Take this western inspired outfit to the state fair, county fair, country concert, rodeo, or just out for a fun weekend with friends. It’s perfect for any casual weekend affair.

I’m taking a dress break to give you a different option for these HOT summer days, a shorts outfit. I wore this outfit for my mom’s birthday lunch. It was the perfect summer outfit with a little celebration aspect with the fun off the shoulder top. These off white jean shorts are so comfy! The style is a loose fit so no need to size up. I like the off white color as I’m not as worried about stains and dirt compared to white shorts. While white is great with bright and bold colors, I think this ivory color works best with earth tones.
My floral off the shoulder top was the perfect compliment to the off white color. It’s filled with complimentary earth tone colors that still have a bold summer feel. It’s a banded waist which helps it sit perfectly right at the waist. No need to tuck in and risk the color coming through. Although, I do think this denim is a good thickness, so I don’t think that would happen.
A few different style ideas that you may have seen in my Instagram stories, I paired these shorts with a rose pink tank top for a more casual outfit. For a dinner out, I paired this top with high waisted blue jeans. A dark blue would be a great way to transition this top to fall.

Happy last Friday of July! It’s also the last few days of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale which ends Sunday. My backless booties are part of the sale and a great shoe find to wear year round. I styled them today in this perfect spring to fall outfit.
This orange striped midi dress is a great throw on and go dress. The ribbed fitted design is easy to dress up for brunch or down for a fall football game. For a hot summer day, dress up this striped dress with wedge sandals or block heel sandals and gold jewelry. To transition this orange dress into fall, toss on a denim jacket and booties for a casual outfit. I love that these booties are backless. I’ve become a big fan of a slip on shoe. The backless booties also help keep the foot cool and breathable during the warmer months.

Every summer I receive requests for more shorts outfits, so ask and you shall receive. My initial thought when I saw this brown gingham top was how perfectly it would pair with a pair of faded black shorts. The embroidered black on the shoulders stands out a bit more with a black bottom. I can also see transitioning this top into fall with black skinny jeans and booties.
The panels with different sized check gingham helps create a slimming illusion which is always a plus. This gingham top has a square neckline which is such a flattering cut. This shirt is the perfect cropped length to pair with shorts this summer. While the arm holes look bigger, they have an lining so this top is bra friendly.
Sizing Notes: I’m wearing an XS in the top. These shorts fit TTS. I linked the same style, but this exact color/distressing is not available this season. Shoes fit TTS.
