Oversized Blue Cardigan
Happy Friday!! We are enjoying a few cooler days here, so I’m pretty excited to pull out some of my new sweaters and cardigans. We’ve been in the 80s for most of the week which is really not working for all of my fun new fall things.
This layered fall outfit is such a classic outfit combo for both fall and winter. What I love about is – one how simple it is and two how you can start with the same base layer and just change out your cardigan for a multitude of outfits to wear all season.
For a comfy cozy combo, I went with this oversized blue cardigan. This blue shade was in instant attraction. I thought it was such a pretty shade of blue. Even though it’s a brighter blue, I feel like it’s slightly subdued and perfect for fall and winter. The drop shoulder and statement collar gives it just a little bit of wow factor to make it stand out from the other long cardigans out there. It’s designed to be oversized, so I would stay either true to your normal size or go down one. I’m wearing an XS.
As for my other layer – this cami is becoming a staple in my closet! It’s perfect for layering, but also great in the spring and summer months to wear alone. It also comes in black. Both colors are great staples for layered looks. The straps are adjustable which I love! I’m wearing a size small.

How To Wear Black Jogger Pants in Fall
I hope ya’ll are ready for lots of fall outfit inspiration over the next few weeks! I have some pretty fabulous fall outfits coming to blog this week, and I can’t wait to share them all with you!
I’m a big skinny jeans fan, and sometimes jogger pants feel a bit odd to wear out. I do love the looser fit. It’s a bit more comfy and styled the right way, a black pair of jogger pants can have a pretty chic and stylish look. The key is to get the right fit. These fit TTS to your jean size. I did roll the bottom up one to fit my petite height, and it made the length perfect! I also think the high waist design adds a bit to the chic factor.
With a looser fitting bottom, I opt for a fitted top to keep a balance in proportions. With my petite height, outfit proportions can help me not look short and stumpy. A white tank top and denim jacket was perfect for a casual outfit. I of course dressed it up a bit with my dressy peep toe bootie heels. Another super chic outfit option is to pair with a bodysuit. I styled the jogger pants that way for a happy hour a few weeks ago. See that look here.

Why a Black Bodysuit is My New Must Have for Fall
How many black bodysuits is too many? Asking for a friend…
Just kidding totally asking for myself, because my addiction to black bodysuits is only growing as we ease more into the fall season. It started this summer when I added the sleeveless one to my wardrobe. I realized how perfect the fitted bodysuit was for creating a smooth tucked in top look without the fuss of keeping your top perfectly tucked in. I’d experienced this with looser fitting bodysuits and the perfect slightly untucked look, but I was really loving the smooth fitted look paired with skirts. The fitted look helped create a waist definition that you can’t always achieve with a tucked in shirt. You may remember that bodysuit from last week.
The addiction had begun and during the Nordstrom Sale I added a black long sleeve bodysuit to my collection. You will be seeing me styling that one here on the blog soon! As cardigan season approached, I really wanted a short sleeve bodysuit that I could use as a layer under all of my long cardigans. The square neck detail on this one was perfect. The open neck line and cap sleeve makes this bodysuit perfect as a stand alone with a pair of denim and booties for a warm fall day.
Layered under a long cardigan, the fit of the body suit helps reduce bulk a looser fitting tee or cami might add to a look. The fit also created a more polished layered look. Now I’m not knocking a looser pairing top with a cardigan. I’m still a fan of those, but I love the different look a bodysuit gives to an old tried and true fall outfit.
I usually size up a little in bodysuits. All the bodysuits that I have are smalls. If I were to purchase any of them in white, I would go up to a medium. I think white looks better with a bit more breathing room that isn’t as necessary in black.

Casual Fall Friday Style
Happy Friday and Happy almost Weekend! If you need some casual Friday outfit inspiration, I have you covered today. This easy breezy look will also work for your weekend. I feel like this short sleeve button down style is such a classic look and can help make your casual style look a bit more polished. The blue and white stripe color will also work in the Spring making this a great multi-season top.
For fall, I tossed on my go to pair of dark blue skinny jeans. Seriously this are so good! I’ve had these for a few years, so they faded a bit. I love the hint of stretch so they are really comfy. They also hold their shape and don’t get baggy even with repeated wears.
My brown suede slides were one of my NSale purchases this year. I started with a white pair in 2020. I loved and wore them so much that I knew I was going to buy this brown pair as soon as I saw them in the preview. Slides are a great shoe to quickly throw on and toss off if you like being barefoot at your desk like me. The loafer style and gold buckle elevate the look and give it a super chic vibe. The front part is a good length so these are pretty easy to walk in. Be careful about slides with too short of a front part covering your foot. I find them harder to walk in because sometimes they don’t stay on the foot well.
