Black Cocktail Dress
It’s holiday party season!! You can never have too many black cocktail dresses in your closet in my opinion. A black dress can be worn to so many different events from holiday parties to weddings to date night to cocktail party. My attraction to this black dress was definitely the puffy statement sleeve. I love a good statement sleeve!
This dress had another feature that makes it a must have cocktail party dress to keep in your closet rotation. Most of my cocktail dresses are fitted throughout the dress or at least at the top portion. The top portion of this dress is a stretchy material that allows more movement and comfort. Overall it has a looser fitting design which I love for days when you are not in the mood for something fitting. The high low bell skirt and puff sleeve give this dress that statement cocktail factor. This dress will have you looking fabulous while also being comfy. As we change out of our comfies and start putting on our party wear, this dress is perfection for the transition.
A great way to dress up your little black dress is with a fabulous statement shoe. These pearl and silver studded heels were my weddings shoes! I tried on a few pairs and loved that these were bridal but I also knew that I would be able to create lots of fun and glam outfits around these shoes. I ordered my normal shoe size despite the recommendation to go up half size. I think it fits perfect.

Oversized Blue Cardigan
Happy Friday!! We are enjoying a few cooler days here, so I’m pretty excited to pull out some of my new sweaters and cardigans. We’ve been in the 80s for most of the week which is really not working for all of my fun new fall things.
This layered fall outfit is such a classic outfit combo for both fall and winter. What I love about is – one how simple it is and two how you can start with the same base layer and just change out your cardigan for a multitude of outfits to wear all season.
For a comfy cozy combo, I went with this oversized blue cardigan. This blue shade was in instant attraction. I thought it was such a pretty shade of blue. Even though it’s a brighter blue, I feel like it’s slightly subdued and perfect for fall and winter. The drop shoulder and statement collar gives it just a little bit of wow factor to make it stand out from the other long cardigans out there. It’s designed to be oversized, so I would stay either true to your normal size or go down one. I’m wearing an XS.
As for my other layer – this cami is becoming a staple in my closet! It’s perfect for layering, but also great in the spring and summer months to wear alone. It also comes in black. Both colors are great staples for layered looks. The straps are adjustable which I love! I’m wearing a size small.

Corduroy Mini Skirt
It’s time to bring out the corduroy mini skirts and boots! One of my top fall and winter pairings for work, date night, or dinner out with your gal pals is a fall mini skirt paired with a tall pair of boots. Suede and corduroy are two of the popular styles for the fall season. I love the added details of the buttons on the front or a small little slit on the side.
This floral pattern on this skirt has gorgeous jewel tone colors, perfect for fall. It comes in two other colors, but I really gravitated to the purples and dark pinks in this print. It really pops against the black, and it will also work well with an ivory cropped sweater. Other top color options pulling from the colors in the print – mustard yellow, dark pink, or a burnt orange.
To showcase the details on the top of the skirt, a bodysuit was a must have pairing with this skirt. I love that bodysuits stay in place, doesn’t come untucked, and give a nice smooth look with the skirt. If you aren’t looking for a fitted top option, a loose cropped sweater that ends 1-2 inches past the top of the skirt is another great option and a perfect way to transition this skirt into the winter season.

How To Wear Black Jogger Pants in Fall
I hope ya’ll are ready for lots of fall outfit inspiration over the next few weeks! I have some pretty fabulous fall outfits coming to blog this week, and I can’t wait to share them all with you!
I’m a big skinny jeans fan, and sometimes jogger pants feel a bit odd to wear out. I do love the looser fit. It’s a bit more comfy and styled the right way, a black pair of jogger pants can have a pretty chic and stylish look. The key is to get the right fit. These fit TTS to your jean size. I did roll the bottom up one to fit my petite height, and it made the length perfect! I also think the high waist design adds a bit to the chic factor.
With a looser fitting bottom, I opt for a fitted top to keep a balance in proportions. With my petite height, outfit proportions can help me not look short and stumpy. A white tank top and denim jacket was perfect for a casual outfit. I of course dressed it up a bit with my dressy peep toe bootie heels. Another super chic outfit option is to pair with a bodysuit. I styled the jogger pants that way for a happy hour a few weeks ago. See that look here.
