Blue Rose Mini Dress

‘Tis the season for party dresses and holiday outfits! I wore this blue rose mini dress to a family member’s birthday dinner a few weekends ago. It’s the perfect dress for the holiday events. It has ties at the waist that can be adjusted. I love this because let’s be honest. The size you are at the beginning of the holiday season is not always the size at the end. I like that you can make this more fitted or less fitted and wear it to all of the holiday parties. Another fabulous detail – it has sheer sleeves and a smock detail at the bottom of the sleeve to help give the sleeves the perfect amount of volume.
You could dress up the look a little more with silver metallic or black heels. I added a green velvet blazer when I wore it to both dress it up and work with the cooler weather. Outside of holiday season, this dress would be perfect for date night or a fall and winter wedding.

Black Cocktail Dress

It’s holiday party season!! You can never have too many black cocktail dresses in your closet in my opinion. A black dress can be worn to so many different events from holiday parties to weddings to date night to cocktail party. My attraction to this black dress was definitely the puffy statement sleeve. I love a good statement sleeve!
This dress had another feature that makes it a must have cocktail party dress to keep in your closet rotation. Most of my cocktail dresses are fitted throughout the dress or at least at the top portion. The top portion of this dress is a stretchy material that allows more movement and comfort. Overall it has a looser fitting design which I love for days when you are not in the mood for something fitting. The high low bell skirt and puff sleeve give this dress that statement cocktail factor. This dress will have you looking fabulous while also being comfy. As we change out of our comfies and start putting on our party wear, this dress is perfection for the transition.
A great way to dress up your little black dress is with a fabulous statement shoe. These pearl and silver studded heels were my weddings shoes! I tried on a few pairs and loved that these were bridal but I also knew that I would be able to create lots of fun and glam outfits around these shoes. I ordered my normal shoe size despite the recommendation to go up half size. I think it fits perfect.

Little Black Holiday Dress + Link Up

Hello friends! So did you take advantage of all the amazing sales yesterday?? My favorite purchase from yesterday was my new fitbit. I have been wanting to upgrade to one that shows my step count, and the Heart Rate version was $50 off yesterday! I can’t wait to start using it. I’ll share a review with ya’ll in a month or two, once I have had a chance to test it out.
Now that Thanksgiving and Black Friday are in the books, it is time to start thinking about Christmas and New Year’s Eve Parties. You can never go wrong with a great little black holiday dress this time of year.
I originally purchased this dress to wear for a Vegas Bachelorette Party in October. When shopping for the perfect little black dress for the party, I wanted to be sure my choice could double as a party dress for any upcoming holiday parties or a NYE party. This dress would also work for a wedding in Fall or Winter. With all that versatility, I knew this was the one.
The shimmer sheer sleeve and sexy shoulder cutout take center stage on this dress, so I kept my accessories minimal. I opted for my small black crossbody bag, the perfect size for party night. It holds a cell phone, keys, mini wallet, and lip gloss. For jewelry, I opted only for these fabulous statement earrings. I picked these earrings out specifically to wear with this dress. They are the perfect compliment to the dress. The silver, gold, and black colors blend with the look, but the design still has just enough wow factor.

FRENCH CONNECTION Fit & Flare Lace Panel Dress *ON SALE | STEVE MADDEN Stecy Sandal | GIGNY Magenta Clutch | LOREN HOPE Blythe Necklace (similar) | BAUBLEBAR Pinnacle Cuff, Aretha Earrings | Nails: JULEP Shari | Lipstick: BOBBI BROWN Neon Pink
Happy Monday Ya’ll!! My vacation week is officially here. I just have to make it through 3 days of work, and then I will be off to Charleston with my girlfriends! It’s going to be the longest 3 days! Do you ever notice how those few work days before vacation seem to last forever?!?!
I am so in LOVE with this French Connection dress. I wore this to my cousin’s wedding a couple weekends ago. I had originally wanted a bright solid color dress, but I was striking out with all the dresses I tried on. I had pretty much given up and decided to just wear something old when I stumbled upon this dress. I was actually ordering a couple things for my trip when this dress popped up and was on sale! As soon as I saw it, I knew 1) it would be perfect for the wedding and 2) it was the perfect LBD. The lace panel is my favorite part of this dress. It really takes this dress from just a normal fit and flare to something special. The dress is a super comfy stretch material, so it was easy to dance and move in it. I added a short statement necklace to add a little detail to the neckline.
My biggest concern when I ordered the dress was the length. I’m only 5’3, so I knew the midi length could potentially be the deal breaker on this dress. The lace panel I loved so much, also means it would be hard/expensive to alter. I decided to go ahead and purchase these nude sandals to pair with the dress. A nude shoe is a great way to make your legs looks longer, and my little secret to wearing midi length skirts and dresses without looking super short and awkward. I have been meaning to buy these shoes for awhile because they work with everything from dresses to jeans to shorts. I used to think the thin straps would make these shoes uncomfortable, but honestly they do give your foot some good support. I have only walked in them so far, so I’ll keep you updated on my experience with them.
My dress arrived the Thursday before the wedding and fit like a glove! I was so happy with it. Unfortunately my shoes hit a delay and didn’t arrive until the Monday after the wedding. Luckily, I had an old pair of shoes from when I was a bridesmaid to wear with this dress. I was a little disappointed to not have my shoes in time, but since I know I will being wearing these for years to come I wasn’t super sad.
Hope ya’ll have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
