Seven Ways to Style a Swing Dress for Fall
Hello Hello! It’s been a busy few days over on the home front. Over the weekend, we drove out to my mom’s to pick up our temporary kitchen table. We haven’t really found the one yet, and my sister offered to let us borrow the one she didn’t need anymore. I’m really excited one to finally have a kitchen table, but also that the pressure to find the perfect table is relaxed a little. Since we now have something, we can spend a little more time searching for the perfect one.
I also ordered a small table for our entry way. I really wanted a navy table for the space which turned out is really hard to find. A few months ago, I found the perfect one at Target but it was sold out. I’ve been stalking it since and it came back in stock this week!! Every time we cross an item off the list, I feel like our place is transforming even more into our perfect little home. I will have to do a home post soon to share some of what we’ve done and purchased.
Alright now that all the exciting home news is out of the way, let’s talk fashion! I love a swing dress. The flowy style make them so comfy and perfect for days spent more at home. You can also easily transform them into multiple styles with a few style swaps. This burgundy swing dress is also a sweater dress so it adds a little bit of warmth. I also love that it came with a matching slip, since I find most sweater dresses need something underneath.
SEVEN WAYS TO STYLE A SWING DRESS FOR FALL
WITH BOOTIES
Simple, easy, and perfect for warm fall days.

WITH A DENIM JACKET AND OVER THE KNEE BOOTS
A denim jacket is a staple in my closet for fall and spring. It’s the perfect layering piece for a causal outfit. With the shorter length of this dress, my OTK boots were the perfect pairing.

WITH A BLAZER AND HEELS
Work day ready with the quick addition of a fitted blazer and snakeskin heels. Since this dress is crewneck and one solid color, I also added a long necklace to add a little something to the overall look.

WITH A LEATHER JACKET & TALL BOOTS
For a dressy but still kinda casual look, a leather jacket and boots are perfect. This outfit would be perfect for Thanksgiving dinner!

WITH A CARDIGAN & BOOTIES
I think swing dresses are so comfy, so adding a long and cozy cardigan is just what this casual outfit needs. Opt for a contrasting color option.

WITH A CROPPED SWEATER & BOOTS
Turn your dress into a skirt by layering a cropped chunky sweater over it. It’s the quickest way to completely change the look of your dress.

Another warm weather and work friendly look. A sweater vest or even a more structured long vest paired with peep toe dress booties.

Four Ways to Wear a Floral Print Sundress
Oh my goodness, I can not believe it is already the last day of September. This definitely was a blink and it’s over kinda month! We had our first cold front blow in this week, and I had a chance to pull out some of my lightweight sweaters. I get cold easily, so for me sweater weather sometimes begins in the low 70s. I’m definitely excited for the cooler temps, so we can start spending more time outdoors on walks and on our patio.
I quite enjoyed my sundresses this summer. They were light and breezy and great for at home days. I wanted to share a few ways to keep the sundress love going into fall with a few ways to restyle your dresses into fun new outfits.
Four Ways to Wear a Floral Print Sundress
FOR SPRING & SUMMER
Let’s start with the original look of my sundress for the Spring and Summer warm weather days. Since this dress a midi length, I opted to wear it with a wedge for a little added height. The neutral color choice of my shoe is also a petite friendly trick for adding the illusion of a longer leg. Great for using with longer dresses.

FOR FALL
The easiest way to transition any dress into fall, add on a denim jacket. This tip is great for fall, but also works in Spring when you might still need a layer. A bootie is the shoe for fall and can instantly transform a dress into the fall season. These booties have a lower profile, so it works well with the longer length of the dress. Again, I chose a neutral color to create that height illusion.

CASUAL DAYTIME OUTFIT
For a casual daytime look, I layered my dress over a white t-shirt and added a casual pair of white sneakers. Adding a t-shirt under a sundress is also a quick and easy way to make it bra friendly. Tossing on a comfy pair of sneakers make this outfit perfect for a day on your feet running errands. You could also toss a denim jacket over this outfit for cooler weather.

FALL WORK OUTFIT
A long olive cardigan is the perfect way to make this sundress office friendly. It covers both your shoulders and the open back. You could go with a few different shoe options here like tan heels or loafers. I really liked how my white slides helped the white in the print pop, so I chose them for my work outfit styling.

Chic Office Holiday Party Outfit

Happy Thanksgiving Week!! After I get through the short work week, I have 4 days filled with family, friends, and food. I cannot wait. Oh and sale shopping! I have my shopping list ready to go for Friday! I’m planning to share some sales in my post on Friday too. I’m also going to share my what I wore this month post on Friday, since I’m sure many of the items I wore over the past month will be on sale. A little something to look forward too!
Can you believe we are just one week away form December?!?! I put up my Christmas decorations yesterday, and the holiday party invites are starting to trickle in. Many companies throw some sort of holiday party, so I wanted to share a chic office holiday party outfit that isn’t a dress. This outfit would work for any type of cocktail type party you have, but I really think it would be a great for work party.
The base of the outfit – pencil skirt and satin blouse – would work in an office setting. To transition this outfit combo to an evening event, I added in fabrics you may shy away from in the office like faux leather and lace. A leather pencil skirt is a must have for fall and winter happy hours and events. It’s instantly can make any outfit look chic and sophisticated. I mean you can toss a slightly oversized sweater over this skirt and still look polished. It’s a great staple to have on hand for any last minute party invites.
I’ve eyed this top at the store a few times, and I finally decided to try it on. I have a few other tops in this style without lace that are great for the office. The addition of lace on this one gives it a special detail to stand out from the others. You can also pair this top with jeans for a casual date night or girls’ night out. I would recommend wearing a black bra underneath it. It’s just slightly low cut and your bra may show with movement. Oh, and I forgot to mention that both my top and skirt are on sale right now!
Alright ya’ll, I have another gift guide for you on Wednesday, and my monthly outfit roundup on Friday along with sales mixed into each post. So be sure to stop by this week and check those out! I hope you all have a wonderful Thanksgiving week and safe travels if you will be heading out of town.
