I am so excited the weekend is almost here!  My best girlfriends and I are getting together for a little Christmas Soiree and I am ready for some long overdue catching up and gossip!  On weekends in winter, I pretty much live in skinny jeans, a sweater and boots or booties!  I love winter sweaters that are a little oversized and have feminine detailing.  The details on this one are so gorgeous! When I wear a top with such beautiful details, I usually skip any kind of necklace or go for something super short.  I do not want to detract from the beauty of the top.   This is my first pair of jeggings or jean leggings, and I must say they are quite comfy!  I was searching for black distressed skinny jeans when I came across these for under $90, so I decided to give them a try.  I kind of like the thinner material because they do not feel so suctioned up tight like with a thick jean and they fit easier inside boots.  No, I am not giving up my skinny jeans, after all I just picked these up on Cyber Monday, but I will definitely consider buying another pair of jeggings.   Happy Friday y’all and I hope you have a fabulous weekend!  Oh and I have to send a big one day early HAPPY BIRTHDAY to my amazing blog photographer and sister, Diane!

I love this coat!  You may remember it being on my winter wish list a few weeks ago.  Living in Texas, I do not have a need for too many coats, so I usually only add one (maybe two if it’s on sale) to my coat collection every year.  This year I was looking to add a red coat, but stumbled upon this gorgeous BB Dakota one and had to have it!  Every coat I buy has to be super versatile; after all I only have a few.  I was drawn to the shade of gray on this coat.  The color is actually black and white tweed, but combines into this gorgeous shade of gray.  I wear a lot of black and other dark colors, and I love how this shade of gray both stands out by itself and compliments the black dress.  In the winter, I feel like I’m always cold and can wear my coat for hours even indoors! I love having a coat that looks this fabulous on and isn’t overwhelmingly bulky! I partnered it with my favorite Asos Swing Dress. I own both the long and short sleeve version of this dress!  It’s such a lightweight throw on and go dress, and is oh my goodness soooo comfortable!  I love wearing this dress on Mondays to work when I maybe overindulged in too many holiday party goodies over the weekend!  With the right statement necklace and a pair of booties, this dress becomes a stunner!

I was spoiled by first post college job by being able to wear whatever I wanted; I was living the dream!  For the most part, I could truly wear anything – jeans, rompers, tshirts, and thin strap dresses.  When I scored my first office job, I was nervous about my perceived loss of style freedom that came with it.  Office clothes seemed boring and more like a uniform.  A button up top, black dress pants and black pumps, the same thing every day for eternity!  A close friend took me to her “office uniform store” to pick up a few things for my first day, and I was amazed by the selection!  Cute colorful pencil skirts in solids and stripes, sheath dresses in prints and patterns, and dress pants of all colors!  Maybe this office uniform thing wasn’t going to be so bad after all!  Over the years, I have slowly added to the office wear side of my wardrobe, even co-mingling pieces with the weekend side of my closet.  At first office attire may seem a bit drab, but it is all about finding pieces with a little added flare to keep things office chic! One of the things I love about tie neck blouses is that while they are a typical work top, the bow adds some flare to make this a classic work look but still adding a little glam and chicness.  If you have to wear a blazer to work, I love how the bow pops out of the top of the blazer to add a little drama to an everyday suit.  What are ways you spice up your office wardrobe?
