Hey Ya’ll! I wanted to share a look and trend that I’m loving right now – the all white outfit. I used to be so scared to wear an all white look, and some days I still am a little. I mean this isn’t my red wine drinking outfit. 🙂 I finally gave in to this trend because I love how simple and sophisticated this monochromatic look can be. When wearing an all white look, I do try to add a little bit of color through my jewelry, purse, or in this case with a little cardigan.
Since I added color to my all white outfit with my cardigan, I kept my other accessories simple. I went with a nude clutch and heels, and some simple gold jewelry. The navy cardigan lends a more sophisticated vibe which is why I chose to keep my other accessories simple and classic. This would be such a fun outfit for casual Friday, weekend brunch, or even a day date to grab coffee.
I love this ruffle blouse for summer! It’s super lightweight and casual. I wanted to showcase that this top can be dressed up a little by adding a cardigan. I think it would look cute if you paired it with some skinny work pants or a colorful pencil skirt too.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I hung out with family yesterday for Mother’s Day and ate way too much Mexican food and desserts! I ended up getting my mom this beauty kit. I love these products, and I cannot wait to see what she thinks of them!! I also scored the lip gloss in today’s post as a free gift with purchase. Score! My mom doesn’t wear lip gloss, so I kept it. I love how it adds a little shimmer to my lips. Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Travel Guide: Charleston

I’m so excited to finally share this post with ya’ll!! It’s been a few weeks in the works. A couple weeks ago, my girlfriends’ and I hopped on a plane for a long weekend in Charleston, South Carolina. We planned a weekend full of great food, fabulous drinks, tons of shopping, and being 100% tourists! The city is so gorgeous and the history is well preserved. I could get lost just walking the streets admiring the historic homes. I put together this Travel Guide Charleston to share some of my favorite things to do in the city. I have been a few times, so this list is a compilation of multiple trips. I have plans to go back at the end of the summer, so I plan on updating this post as I find more favorite spots!

WHERE TO EAT:
Poogan’s Porch – A great restaurant for brunch, order all the biscuits!!!!
Leon’s Fine Poultry and Oyster Shop – One of the best chicken sandwiches ever!
Fleet Landing – Great lunch spot, love the She Crab Soup and the Fried Green Tomato BLT.

The Macintosh – A cute little brunch spot with the cutest red dishes!
A few great dinner spots: Husk, Blossom, and Fig

TOTAL TOURIST!
Walking Tour – A really great way to see the city and learn all about the history of the houses, churches, and what famous Declaration signers are buried here.

Carriage Tour – A relaxing way to see the city. I think the walking tour is much more cool, you definitely see and learn more, but this is a great alternative if you don’t want to walk a bunch.

Historic Home Tours – I love touring old homes and seeing how they lived and how the homes were restored to their original splendor. We visited the Nathaniel Russel home and learned how they discover the homes’ original paint colors.

Plantations – I didn’t have time to visit a plantation, but it is on my list for a future trip.
WHERE TO STAY

King Charles Inn – One of the more affordable options in the downtown area. The hotel was walking distance to everything we wanted to do. The staff was really nice, and offer full concierge services which is great for ordering airport or plantation trip shuttles.

Belmond Charleston Place – This hotel is in the center of it all. Just walking in you are greeted with a grand staircase and chandelier. The staff is super friendly, and the rooms are pretty nice. This hotel is a bit more of pricier option.

THE BAR RUN
Bin152 – Give me a chill environment and a glass of wine, and I am a happy girl. This was my favorite bar of our trip. The staff was really nice and knowledgeable about the wines. Not super packed so no long waits for a glass of wine.
5 Church – An old church transformed into a bar/restaurant. I’m in love with these wing chandeliers!! The whole place was gorgeous inside, and the staff was nice and attentive. They were busy, but we still got our drinks quick.

Rooftop Bar at Vendue – An elevator ride away from gorgeous rooftop views of the water and a glass of rose. Weekends can be crowded, and you will have to wait for an elevator ride. I wouldn’t wait until closing to leave or you will be waiting awhile.
Stars – Rooftop views and fun cocktails, but pretty crowded expect to have to wait for a drink and a seat.

WHERE TO SHOP
King Street – From small boutiques to big chains like Banana Republic and JCrew, this street has a little something for everyone.
City Market – One Stop shop for all your souvenier needs, including local artist handmade goods. Outside the market are more shops in case you want even more souveniers like tees, hats, and toys.

Charleston Farmers’ Market – Only on Saturdays, a great place to scope out more local artists from paintings to beauty to jewelry to food.

As you can see, Charleston has many ways to keep you busy. Be prepared for lots of walking! It’s a great place for a long weekend getaway. My girlfriends’ and I had tons of fun exploring the city. I have to give major props to my friends Ashley and Lauren for coordinating our reservations, and to Alex for being our tour guide and showing us fun things like where Patricia from Southern Charm lives! I can’t wait for our next girls’ weekend getaway!!

I am keeping today’s post short and sweet! I had a late night celebrating my dad’s birthday last night over dinner.
I wore this outfit to a blogger brunch this past weekend. The outfit includes many of my summer essentials from a casual white dress to a comfy pair of wedges to some fun and colorful accessories. I just picked up this dress a couple weeks ago. I was immediately drawn to the eyelet/lace design. I also love a shift type dress, so comfy!! Almost every year at the end of the summer, I attend White Linen Night in the Heights, and I picked up this dress because I knew it would be perfect for that event. White is definitely a very on trend color for spring and summer. I love the crisp and clean look of it. I also really like being able to accessorize with lots of fun colors.
I just added these two turquoise Kendra Scott pieces for summer. I have been really craving some turquoise lately. I love Kendra’s cuff bracelets because they very easily adjust open and close. I originally wanted to buy the Skylar earrings in turquiose, but I was really loving this Alex style too. After way too long staring at the two in the mirror, I decided to go with Alex since I already own several Skylar pairs.
What are some of your summer style essentials??

Hey Ya’ll!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! My mom, sister, and I drove down to Galveston yesterday for the Historic Homes Tour. You get to tour several area homes to learn about their past and how they were restored. Many of the homes on this tour survived the 1900 Great Hurricane! I love learning about the homes and seeing how they are decorated, plus the fun little family day!! It was lots of walking and hot out, so now I’m a little tired. One of those I really could use one more day this weekend kinda tired! Extra Coffee please!!
I originally grabbed this dress because on the hanger it looked a bit more casual, and I thought it would be perfect for vacation or nights out when we go to Galveston. Once I tried it on though, I realized it was the perfect dress for work and happy hour. I am always on the hunt for dresses that can be easily styled for both places. I ended up wearing this a couple weeks ago for the Shop with Heart card launch party. For work, I wore some nude peep toe pumps to make it more office friendly. After work, all I had to do was change out my shoes to easily transition this dress for the event. I love the print and colors of this dress. It really helps give it a unique stand out look. Bonus, the dress is only $70 which is a pretty nice price considering how much I am planning on wearing it this summer!
I hope ya’ll have a great week and thanks for stopping by!
