When it comes to St. Patrick’s Day, I love some of the fun maybe a little cheesy tshirts and decor.  I curated this little shop guide with ideas for work or a night out.  These novelty tees are too cute! The middle one is definitely my favorite.  It was the first one I found while playing on Amazon, and made me want to create this shop guide for the holiday.  All three of these tees would pair great with a pair of distressed skinny jeans and some flats or booties.  This little feathered top hat just makes me smile every time I look at it!  I think it’s a little over the top and maybe cheesy which is exactly why I like it!

St. Patrick’s Day is on a Thursday, so I also included a few tops that would be perfect to wear to to work with a pair of work pants or pencil skirt.  They could also easily transition to a night out by changing into jeans and heels.  You could also add on these cute Jack Rogers sandals!

I always love tossing out a few items around the house for the different holidays.  Pillows are one easy way to add just a hint of the holiday.  I also will change out my hand towels too.  If you have friends over, these wine charms are a must have!!  I have a huge collection of wine charms, and a few may be holiday themed.   One of my girlfriends makes themed breakfasts for her kids on holidays and special occasions,  and I immediately thought of her when I saw this waffle maker.  The pattern is a heart, so it could work for both Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day!

So I am trying something new with these shop guides, the image above is shoppable.  You can click any of the item pictures and be taken straight to the store to shop.  I have never used this before, so I also included a non-clickable image at the bottom of the post.   I wanted to be sure that no matter how you read my posts whether directly on the site, via the subscriber email, or Bloglovin that you could see the shop guide picture.

Alright ya’ll, less than ten days to get your green ready!!  Thanks for stopping by the blog today!

We made it to Friday and to my final post about the Thrive Blog Conference.  My blog is primarily fashion and style, so I feel like I need to put a bit of thought into what I am wearing to a blog conference.  I want to be sure my outfit reflects my personal style and blog accurately.  This is actually pretty easy as most of the clothes in my closet have been worn on the blog or on my Instagram at some point.  I do still have a few outfits you haven’t seen like this Lilly Pulitzer dress.   It’s several years old, so I linked some of Lilly’s current dresses that I love and that would work with this look in the details above.

I thought I would share a few style tips for what to wear to a blog conference for any of you who may have one coming up.  First, wear something you feel comfortable in.  If I am not 100% feeling my outfit, I think it shows in my attitude.  I want to love my outfit, and I want it to fit perfect so that I can easily move around and sit comfortably.  Two, check out past conference pictures for inspiration.  Every conference is different and has a different attire level.  Thrive is a bit more casual, so jeans and a cute top would totally work.  When I attended The Blog Societies conference, all the attendees were dressed  up a little bit more in nice day dresses.  Check out the conference’s website or get on Instagram and search the conference hashtag to see what people wore the previous year.  Third, bring a jacket or sweater.  Conferences can be cold, so make sure to bring a jacket that works with your outfit.   And last, wear something memorable.  It doesn’t have to be the whole outfit, maybe a cute pair of shoes, a bright color, or statement jewelry.  You meet tons of people at conferences, and sometimes I may not remember someone’s name, but I will remember the outfit.  When people scroll back through the Instagram tagged photos, they may see your cute shoes or that bright color and reconnect with you after the conference.

I think the most important is to be you and be comfy in your outfit.  Remember, you will be sitting for large portions of time too.  By the way, these pictures were taken by the gorgeous pool at the conference hotel.  The pool area was gorgeous, and I was a little bummed it was cold that weekend.  I would have loved to get in some sun and a cocktail by the pool!

MORE FAVES FROM THE SHOPBOP SALE
Saturday is the last day to shop the Shopbop Spring Sale!  If you have never shopped this site, it houses many designer brands like Tory Burch, Rebecca Minkoff, and Stuart Weitzman.  I love using this sale to buy wardrobe staple like jeans from Paige and AG.  You have to spend at least $250 to get a discount.  I’m going to let you in on my secret for scoring a bigger discount in these buy more, save more sales.  PHONE A FRIEND! My best friend and I put our orders together, so we could get a bigger discount.  So if you don’t think you can meet the minimum or you are oh so close to the next discount range, text that friend who loves designer brands as much as you.  After you place the order, you can head back into your order to see the price of each item which will include the individual tax for each item.  This  makes it super easy to see exactly how much each person owes.

I can’t wait for my purchases to arrive! I purchased these jeans and this top.  I really wanted these shoes, but they were out of my size.  My bestie purchased all shoes, now you see why we are such good friends. 🙂  She scored some great shoes for spring and summer.  I’m a little jealous of these and these are perfect for chasing her almost 2 year old around the park.  Now that you know my little sale shopping secret, call that friend and get shopping before this sale ends and check out more of my fave sale items below.

I’m continuing with more insider access to the Thrive Blog Conference with a look at what I wore for the Friday night Welcome Party.  All the conferences that I have attended have this casual mixer event.  It is one of my favorite times to get to know some of the bloggers attending the conference and say hi to old friends.

I love any excuse to buy a pretty dress, so I knew I wanted a dress for this event.  I was looking for something specific, because I wanted it to have a fun colorful almost spring print and work with whatever weather we had that night.   I wasn’t really finding what I was looking for, since stores were changing seasons when I was looking.  I decided to take a look at Rent the Runway to see if they had anything that caught me eye.  Rent the Runway is a dress rental company that lets you rent designer dresses for a fraction of the cost.  I love it for special occasion dresses that you probably will not wear more than once.  I found this Free People dress which was only a $30 rental and decided to go for it.  I had this dress on my current craving list all winter, but I wasn’t really feeling the $200 price tag.  If you love this dress, I found it available to purchase for $100.  I loved the long sleeves to work with the cooler temps, and the mini length to give it that cocktail party dress vibe.

The dress was kind of statement on its own, so I kept my accessories simple.  I went with my fringe party earrings and just a couple bangles.  I also added my new crossbody bag.  My obsession with crossbody bags is only growing with all the cute styles I keep coming across.   I love the design of this one from Vera Bradley.  It is the perfect size to wear for a night out or during the day for errands or brunch.   It also has little dividers inside which is rare in a crossbody bag, but it was kind of a welcomed addition.   I love the white and quilted design to pair with all the gorgeous florals and bright colors that I plan on wearing this spring.   I love how the white compliments and enhances the print of the dress.  The quilted look helps give this purse a subtle pattern to help it standout without taking over the show too much.   It also comes in this fabulous blue non-quilted version too!  If you have checked out my shop page recently, you have seen that one on my current cravings list!

I love that the overall look was fun and easy.  The dress was easy to move in, and the crossbody bag made it easy to shake hands, hold drinks, and play at the fun DIY booths.  I shared some pics from the party at the very end of this post.

blog conference must have items

I had so much fun at the Thrive Blog Conference this weekend!  I hope you were able to follow along on the fun on Snapchat!  All week I am going to be sharing different insider looks at my blog conference experience.  This was my second time to attend Thrive and my third blog conference ever.   I feel like I am kind of start to get the hang of these things.

My first insider look is all about what to pack for a blog conference.  This conference was only a day and a half and only an hour away, so I packed much lighter than I would for a longer conference or one where I am flying.   While I am normally a notorious overpacker, I tend to pack semi-light for a blog conference.  I plan all my outfits out well in advance all the way down to what jewelry I am going to wear.  My blog is all about fashion, so I want my outfits to really represent my style well.  I lay out all my planned outfits side by side by event.  I try to coordinate my jewelry, so it can be worn mix and match with all my outfits.  I then layout my handbags to see how they will look with the outfit.   I like bringing crossbody bags for the night mixer events, because they help keep your hands free to shake hands, hold drinks, share pics on Snapchat 🙂 , etc.  I also always bring a backup outfit that will work for all or most of the events just in case.  I make sure it will work with the jewelry, purses, and shoes I already have packed.  Speaking of shoes, I always bring several pairs of shoes with me too.  For this conference, I ended up bringing all nuetral shoes without realizing it.  I always be sure to bring a comfy pair of flats or flat sandals for walking around the hotel or exploring the area.  I also bring cute pajamas, because you never know who you may run into in the hall while filling up your ice bucket.  I highly recommend bringing a jacket or cardigan, because some conferences can be a little cold.  Below is a look at some of the items I packed for the Thrive Blog Conference.  You can click on any picture to shop that item or hit the black arrows to scroll through to see all the items.

WHAT I PACKED

Next on my packing list is my beauty products.  I love this Henri Bendel train case, and this color is back in stock!  It also has a strap so it can be worn on your shoulder.  I love the little side pockets for storing any brushes or pencils easily.  Most of what I pack is my everyday makeup and toiletry items.  Some of my current fave brands are Bare Minerals foundation system and It Cosmetics eye makeup.  A few extra items are the nail polish I am currently wearing in case mine chips, and the Urban Decay All Nighter Spray to help hold my makeup in place during an 8+ hour conference day.

WHAT BEAUTY ITEMS I PACKED

When it comes to the actual conference portion, I like to bring a tote or large purse filled with my necessities for the day.  I always bring a notepad and pen or pencil.  All the conference that I have attended have provided paper, but sometimes it may not be exactly what you want.  They don’t always provide a pen, so you definitely want to bring one or two of those.  I also bring my blog business cards to hand out to fellow bloggers and brands during the conference.  For this conference, I carried my big tote bag, so I brought my Lilly Pulitzer pouch to put some of my smaller items in like my lipstick, phone, wallet, and room key.  It makes it easy to find items then hunting through a huge tote.  I also always bring a snack and usually a water bottle.  I just found these Raw Revolution bars and love them!!  Another favorite to bring along is Larabar or Kind Bars.  I like to have a healthy and filling option on hand.    I toss in a couple beauty items like my Sole Serum in case my feet start to hurt, lipstick for touch-ups through out the day, and my Listerine pocket packs to keep fresh breath for networking times.  I also bring my camera just in case I want to shoot any photos.  Most conferences also have a photography session, so it’s nice to have your camera in case they give demonstrations.  Sometimes the session leader will answer questions about your camera afterwards too.  The camera shown below is the current model of what I own.  The one I have has been discontinued by the brand.

WHAT I BROUGHT IN THE CONFERENCE

For my suitcase, I just brought my carry-on bag and filled my tote.  I’m currently looking for some new luggage, so if you have any recommendations leave them in the comments below!  I hope you enjoyed this peek into what I packed for the blog conference.  Stay tuned all week for more looks inside my Thrive Blog Conference weekend!
