Blue Tunic Top + Faux Leather Leggings
Is it time to pull out the leather leggings yet? I have had this pair for a few years, and I always love that instant chic factor they give to a look! You may remember I purchased the Spanx faux leather leggings during the Nordstrom sale. Sad news though, I accidentally tossed them out when I was cleaning up post sale. They had fallen into a shoe box with black tissue paper, and I didn’t realize it until a few days later. Ya’ll I was so bummed! I’m hoping to find them on sale again and re-purchase.
I like the ones I’m wearing because they have more of a leather look to them where the Spanx ones look like coated leggings up close. BUT my current ones tend to look loose around the knees and the spanx ones stay fit to the leg. It kind of depends on the look you are going for and the price. My current ones are cheaper than the spanx ones. FYI – the ones linked are the same brand and style, just there current version. Mine are from about 2-3 years ago, and the quality is good for the price. After a few years of wearing and washing, they still look new too!
An easy pairing with leather leggings is a tunic top and suede boots. For all my petite gals out there, this blue henley tunic top is the perfect length!! I plan to buy it in more colors because the length is so perfect! These tops go with everything and come in so many colors! Pair them over leggings with skinny jeans and booties, tucked into a skirt, or a front tuck with shorts and sneakers. It’s a great top to have in your closet, and bonus it usually doesn’t need ironing!
This outfit has me ready for girls’ night out or date night!

I love mixing together cozy and edgy pieces. This sweater is slightly oversized and so freaking comfortable! It also has pockets which for some reason just make me so happy. This sweater is adorable with jeans and riding boots, but I really wanted to find a way to create something a bit dressier with chic edge to it. Enter my favorite pair of leather leggings.
Ya’ll these are the BEST faux leather leggings. I bought mine last year, and they are back again this season. These leggings are so amazing because underneath that leather like coating is a scuba material legging. This means they fit and feel just like a regular old pair of black leggings, but the coating give the look of leather. I have tried on pairs that felt sticky, or too suctioning, or that showed off a leg dimple or two. I have had no issues with these, and I wore them tons last year. See how HERE and HERE. I mentioned washing them last year, but for those of you newbie readers. I wash these in a regular laundry load and hang dry. So far, I have had no issues with peeling or anything that sometimes happens to other faux leather items.

Happy Presidents’ Day! I am enjoying a relaxing day off today. I just have plans to cross items off my to-do list like laundry, grocery shopping, weekly meal prep, and SALE SHOPPING! Ya’ll I have seen some great sales come across my email! The sales seem to be a mix of discounts on winter and spring, so you are bound to find whatever you are looking for!! I’m planning to look at some of the new spring clothes and shoes for sure, and probably the coat sales for the winter side. I listed a few of my favorite sales, and some of my favorite sale finds so far at the end of this post.
Last night, we had a fabulous time at Uchi! We dined on some delicious food and wine. I decided to share what I wore on my Valentine’s Day date for today’s outfit. Our eyes are always bigger than our stomachs when we go to Uchi, so I wanted something comfy but still cute with a date night vibe. Hello my leather leggings! Ya’ll these things are so darn comfy!! They feel like my regular lounge around the house leggings, but the leather coating gives a chic and sexy look to everyone else. I also added this flowy henley blouse. The black keeps this look chic, but the flowy part keeps it comfy. I wanted to add a little color, so I paired with my new pink tassel earrings and my pink clutch. I love how these leggings look with my Steve Madden heels. I wear these shoes on a weekly basis now to work. They are fully broken in and quite comfy. They are on sale right now, so I am considering buying a black pair. You can never have too many comfy black pumps!

I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving!! After morning puppy cuddles and coffee, I watched the Macy’s Thanksgiving parade because my college (SFA) was marching in it, and then headed off to my Grandma’s house for dinner. I LOVE her dressing (or stuffing) and could eat just that and be happy! With Thanksgiving over, it is time to start preparing my holiday party outfits. I love a cozy and chic holiday outfit for parties. One of my favorite things about leather leggings is that they give an instant chic factor to any look. I can toss them on with an oversized sweater and instantly look a little glammed up. This may be one of my favorite sweater purchases so far this season. It is slightly oversized and long, so perfect to pair with leggings, but also so soft and cozy. It comes in a few other colors, and I am seriously considering going back for another one. This is definitely a lounge around the house all day kind of sweater, but it also looks super cute to head out to a party in with the right ensemble. I added some nude pumps and sparkly jewelry to create the perfect look for a semi-casual holiday party.
