Gray Work Pants + Perfect Layering Top

It’s here! All my bags are packed, and I am Vegas bound! I’m so pumped for my girlfriend’s bachelorette party in Las Vegas. Thanks for your suggestions on daytime things to do. Ya’ll had some good ideas for me.
Awkward timing considering I’m in vacay mode right now, but today I’m sharing a little work day outfit inspiration. These pieces are two of my favorite work wear additions for fall. First, these gray work pants are hands down my favorite. I now own them in black, maroon, and gray. I also plan on buying more colors as the seasons change. These pants are comfy with a hint of stretch. They stay pretty wrinkle free throughout the work day. I’m 5’3, and I find the petite pants at Loft are the perfect length for me.
I’m a layering girl during the work day. My office is cold, outdoors is usually not. So anytime I find a cute easily layered top, I swipe it up. This top is gorgeous standing alone or layered under a gray, black or ivory cardigan. You can also pair with a blazer or even a leather jacket for an edgier look.
Outside the office, pair this top with jeans for a weekend date night outfit or with a leather skirt like I did here for a little blogger happy hour last weekend. It’s so versatile, and it also comes in black. I’m heavily considering buying the black one, because you can never have too many black tops. Sizing note: I’m wearing the small, but after wearing a couple times I think I probably could have gone down to XS. The arm holes are the area that are the slightest bit big and can show the bra a bit. Not really noticeable probably to anyone but me.
Alright ya’ll have a great weekend, and I will see you back here next week. Thanks for reading!

It is officially September and for many that means back to school. While I may not be going back to school or doing anything different than I did all summer, September and the fall season still makes me feel like a new work year is starting. Texas summers are so brutally hot that you can get away wearing fun summer dresses and wedges to work. September brings cooler weather and time to pull back out the work pants. I am a big fan of the Loft Skinny Work Pants! I own multiple pairs and they are in a constant rotation. Size note, they stretch so buy them just a tiny bit tighter than you might normally for work. I have a good feeling my love for them stems from my strong love of the skinny jean. Much like the skinny jean, skinny work pants can be paired with an array of top options from tunics to oversized sweaters to a tucked in look. This gorgeous floral top was a summer favorite of mine that transitions perfectly to fall by tucking it into a crisp work pant. I think this top would be perfect with both a wide and skinny work pant, but I love the slim look of a tucked in top with a skinny leg. These shoes were a hot item last fall and are no longer available, but I linked the shoe style that I am predicting will be the “it” work shoe this year. You have probably already seen a few different versions of the style. I linked an under $100 pair that I checked out in person and will probably end up buying soon. Here is to another successful work year!

You ever notice the hotter it gets outside, the colder inside feels. This time of year sometimes you have to dress for 90+ outside temperatures plus the inside temps that feel like 50 or 60. I like to mix some hot weather items like this linen skirt with something to keep my warm like a long sleeve shirt. This linen fabric of this skirt is super lightweight and perfect for hot temperatures!! As for the shirt, I like that I have the option to roll up my sleeves while outside, and roll them down inside to keep me warm. I am definitely someone who gets cold easily, so I am always looking for ways to make sure my outfit can work in cooler temps no matter what the outside temp is, especially in an office environment. I’m really liking the way the dark color of the chambray and olive green mix together, plus the addition of the dark purple bag just adds another dimension! I am definitely going to have to keep this color combo in mind for future use!
