When I originally ordered this top I envisioned how amazing it would look with my black skinny jeans and wedges for spring. I also had visions of pairing it with black dress shorts for summer and my favorite skinny work pants for the office. The day it arrived I was wearing my black pencil skirt, so I tried them on together. The two went together seamlessly. I love versatile pieces and this top is the epitome of office chic to weekend glam! I was really drawn to the small print down the middle of this top. With versatile pieces, you tend to think solid colors, so to find one with a small print was exciting! I think the straight line will look really cool when mixed with a long black or gray cardigan, so I can keep wearing this top on into fall later this year. Untucked this top is about tunic length, and looks AMAZING with skinny jeans!! Yeah I know, I get ridiculously excited when I find a super versatile piece!!

Last month, I finally upgraded my iPhone from a 4 to a 6. I know I was a bit behind on the upgrading, but I saw nothing wrong with my 4 and no need to upgrade until I started running out of space. So off I went to upgrade to the new iPhone 6. The biggest improvement I noticed was in the camera. For my Instagram followers, you know I love sharing my outfit selfies on a near daily basis. I couldn’t believe how much clearer and detailed the photos were!!! My normal go-to phone case is a purple Otterbox. I like the safety of their cases because obviously I hang on to my phone for awhile. This go around I decided I wanted a pretty case with some kind of design, something that was very me. This Sonix case and I were completely love at first sight! I was so in love that I held off on activating my phone while I somewhat patiently (completely stalked the UPS tracking site) waited for it’s arrival. I love the hand painted look of it, and the femininity of the flowers. The colors are beautiful and compliment each other perfectly! Speaking of the outfit in today’s post, I am loving my new J. Crew sweater for layering. It is that perfect length that hits at just the right spot on my longer button down tops. It’s also the perfect semi-cropped black sweater I mentioned I was looking for in a post a few week ago to pair with my ever growing midi skirt collection. With the start of the new year comes some fabulous and amazing sales! The Armani Exchange jacket in today’s post was purchased several years ago while venturing through the Houston Galleria to take advantage of some end of the year sales. Even on sale, it was a splurge for a fresh out of college woman, but it was worth it. I love the soft velvet of this jacket, and have linked some current finds in the links above. As someone who likes to break the office style mold, a bright colorful blazer is the perfect way to break up the black suit routine. The velvet material is perfect for holiday parties and winter bridal and baby showers. It also is perfect for a work to happy hour look. This outfit also looks amazing with a few strands of long pearls. This outfit and I are ready to conquer another fabulous year!

Today’s outfit is part of a 2 day post, One Sweater Two Ways. The second part of this post will be revealed on Friday. For today’s look, I am styling this sweater for the office. If you have been reading my blog for the past few months, then you know how I love to style my pencil skirts! This high/low sweater from Topshop is perfect for my flowy top look. I love the cream color of the sweater because it goes with so many different colors and breaks me of my normal black color palette. Both my top and skirt are from last year, but I found some great similar pieces linked above. My favorite part of my outfit today are these gorgeous shoes from Elaine Turner. I had been eyeing these shoes for months, and decided to splurge on them over Elaine’s Pink Friday sale. I love that they are a cross between a bootie and a dress shoe. They are perfect to wear with skirts for work! Bonus for you, they are still on sale and also come in a gorgeous taupe color.
