Happy Friday Friends! I’m closing out the week with a more casual date night outfit for Valentine’s Day. I wanted to keep the look a little festive and somewhat dressy, but still have that casual vibe to it. I immediately pulled for my dark plum denim. These jeans are super comfy because they have lots of stretch! I own lots of neutral tops, so I like having these colored jeans around to pair with them. It is a fun way to add some color to your look. Since I wanted this a little bit dressy for Valentine’s Day, I decided to go with my tie neck blouse. I love these blouses because I feel like they can take any outfit up a notch. With a tie neck blouse, you don’t really need a necklace. I like to use this opportunity to pull out a fun pair of earrings like these fringe ones from Baublebar. I also tossed on a couple simple gold bangles. This outfit would look really cute with a pair of black or nude heels, but I opted for my black riding boots. I wanted to keep the look a bit more casual than heels. February is probably the only month in Texas where I feel like it is actually winter, so I also added in my leather jacket. I like that the outfit will stand alone without the leather jacket too. Places definitely tend to keep it warm and toasty inside when the temps dip below 50, so I will most likely end up taking off the jacket eventually. If you plan on dressing up a bit more, check out my post from Monday which includes some dress ideas all under $100! Have a great weekend and thanks for swinging by the blog this week!

Cocoon Cardigan

ZARA Cocoon Cardigan (SIMILAR 40% OFF | SIMILAR UNDER $25) | STEM Long Sleeve Tee | AG Cigarette Jeans (40% off) | LUCKY BRAND Heloisse Riding Boots (On Sale for $80!) | STREET LEVEL Reversible Tote | KENDRA SCOTT Skylar Earrings | GORJANA Alejo Necklace (Also Here), Taner Pave Necklace | BAUBLEBAR Ladder Cuff | RAYBAN Aviator Sunglasses | MAC Lipstick in Craving
If you love long cardigans, I definitely recommend a cocoon cardigan. They kind of remind me of a blanket with sleeves which is why I love them. I picked this one up last year from Zara, but I linked a few similar ones that are on sale and have multiple color options. These cardigans are great for casual looks, but also work to throw on with a dress or a blouse and work pants. I wear this one ALOT in the winter months both out and about and around the house.
I also wanted to share about my new AG jeans. I have been wearing them for just over a month now, and I am in love! These jeans have the tiniest bit of stretch to make them comfy, but they don’t over stretch and turn baggy. I wear my jeans a couple times before washing, so I need them to hold their shape. The color was that perfect neutral jean shade that I was searching for to be able to really wear year round with a wide variety of colors. I have worn these with booties, riding boots, and heels. You have probably seen them all over my Instagram feed. I’m so excited to have found this brand on sale, so I could try them out. I will definitely be heading back to this brand for another pair.
I am so ready for this long weekend! I have some fun plans with friends that I cannot wait for and a relaxing Sunday Funday at home scheduled too! I hope ya’ll have a great weekend too! Thanks for stopping by!

EXPRESS Portofino Blouse | DL1961 c/o Skinny Jeans | CORSO COMO Genava Riding Boots [WIDE-CALF] | GIGI NY All in One Bag | BAUBLEBAR Dandelion Earrings | KENDRA SCOTT Elisa Necklace | STELLA & DOT Renegade Bracelet | NADRI Crystal Bangle | BAUBLEBAR Crystal Mason Ring | RAYBAN Aviator Sunglasses | MAC Lipstick in Craving
The title of this post may seem to be a bit of a bold statement, but it is 100% how I feel about this top! I love the look of a button down shirt, but sometimes they can be a bit stiff. I sit at a desk all day. I want my clothes to be comfortable AND professional. That’s what I love about this top. The fabric is this comfy semi-sheer crepe like material which is soft and moves. I also like that it has two buttons on the arm. You can wear the sleeves long on cold days or roll them up to 3/4 or a little higher on warmer days. I mean come on, it’s like the versatility king of work shirts! It also comes in a wide array of colors and patterns, so I have a feeling I will be buying more. I decided to start with the striped version, because it’s a classic print that works well both for work and play. Outside of work, I love to pair button down tops with denim and riding boots to create a bit of dressed up look for a Saturday evening dinner or a Friday Happy Hour. By the way, these tops are buy one get the second 50% off right now! I definitely want to get this one and probably a solid one.
Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by the blog today!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! I hope you all had a fabulous night whether you went out or stayed in. I am so excited for this relaxing day off with plans to cook up some black eyed peas and cabbage later today, and finish off some leftover Champagne from last night. Hello New Year mimosas!
This outfit was one that I had originally planned to wear for Christmas, but it was too warm for a sweater. I love layering, and this red sweater and light top work perfect together. Shorter sweaters are perfect basic winter layering pieces. I own a few different styles in different colors. You can layer them with solids or prints to create multiple outfits all season. I have paired this one with plaid here. I also pair my sweaters with sleeveless tunics and tanks that I wore during the summer. It’s a great way to keep wearing some of your favorite sleeveless tops when it’s cold out.
I hope ya’ll have a great first day of 2016! Thanks for swinging by today!
