It is part 2 of One Sweater Two Ways. Today is all about styling for a weekend casual look. For me, this outfit is perfect for my family Christmas party this weekend! The high/low style of this sweater is great for layering! I love cream and maroon together especially when partnered with a sprinkling of gold jewelry. In Houston, the December weather is unpredictable. I always compare it more to fall weather than winter. Layered looks are a great way to plan for those warm afternoons and cold evenings. My family gatherings are typically all day affairs, so being able to add and remove layers for the temperature changes throughout the day is helpful! If I am too warm in the afternoon, I can loosely tie my sweater around my waist until the evening cold front comes in. I chose to wear these fabulous taupe booties to keep my look more casual, but a pair of nude heels would also pair well with this outfit. A sweater that I can wear both to the office and on the weekend is a gold mine perfect piece for my wardrobe. I purchased this sweater last season, but I linked some great similar sweaters above. I warned you last week, I live in oversized sweaters and skinny jeans in winter! While I own multiple brands of jeans, my go to brand is definitely Lucky Brand Jeans. I love how long lasting and durable their jeans are. I have had several pairs since college, and they are still in great shape. On my “skinny days”, I still wear them too! The price of their jeans is not too bad either. The pair I’m wearing today is regularly priced $99, but they are currently 40% off!! These black skinny jeans are a thinner material than normal denim, and a have a little stretch to them which is nice this time of year with all the amazing holiday foods and cocktails. How gorgeous is this sweater! I recently fell in love with the BB Dakota brand. They make gorgeous clothes like this sweater or this jacket from my posts last week. They also have a great price point, so you will not break the bank stocking up on some of their gorgeous pieces. I am currently eyeing this amazing sequin skirt for New Year’s Eve! I always feel this time of year money gets a little tight, because I love buying gifts for others! It’s the shopaholic in me. It is nice to have great quality brands at good prices so I can still pick up a few fabulous pieces for myself! What are some of your favorite brands for affordable prices? I am so excited the weekend is almost here! My best girlfriends and I are getting together for a little Christmas Soiree and I am ready for some long overdue catching up and gossip! On weekends in winter, I pretty much live in skinny jeans, a sweater and boots or booties! I love winter sweaters that are a little oversized and have feminine detailing. The details on this one are so gorgeous! When I wear a top with such beautiful details, I usually skip any kind of necklace or go for something super short. I do not want to detract from the beauty of the top. This is my first pair of jeggings or jean leggings, and I must say they are quite comfy! I was searching for black distressed skinny jeans when I came across these for under $90, so I decided to give them a try. I kind of like the thinner material because they do not feel so suctioned up tight like with a thick jean and they fit easier inside boots. No, I am not giving up my skinny jeans, after all I just picked these up on Cyber Monday, but I will definitely consider buying another pair of jeggings. I had been on the hunt for months for the perfect tweed fitted jacket, but had been coming up empty handed. I was starting to feel a little like Goldilocks, this one too long, this one too expensive, and this one just right but not in my size. I was beginning to lose hope, but then I saw this jacket from across the store and fell in love. This jacket was just right, not overly expensive, fitted in all the right places and black, one of my go to colors. It was perfect. One of the first things I thought to pair it with was my Dark Plum skinny jeans. I tend to pair my colored skinny jeans with a white or black top to let the jean color stand out more. I think this outfit will be perfect for a family Thanksgiving event, as long as I don’t spill cranberry sauce on my white shirt. Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!
