Floral Print Easter Dress
| OUTFIT DETAILS |
floral print dress (i’m wearing petite) | taupe block heel sandals | c/o purple stone bangle | | c/o clear stone bangle (bracelets 15% off with code karen) | earrings
What is everyone’s Easter plans? We are having a small family gathering at my Mom’s house. Even though it will be a pretty casual affair, I will probably still use the excuse to dress up and maybe even toss on an Easter dress. I wore this floral print dress for our engagment photos earlier this month, and I love the variety of places I can wear it including Easter.
If you are heading to a bridal shower or you are the bride-to-be, this floral print dress would be perfect for your spring or summer shower. The ruffles and cut of the bottom give this dress so much fun and flirty movement. I also love this for the office. You could toss a blazer on over and change the shoes to a pair of closed toe pumps. If you wanted to dress this down, try out a denim jacket (white or blue) and a pair of wedges. As I mentioned lots of variety with this one!
Sizing note: First, I’m wearing this in a petite, and I’m 5’3. I think it’s a great petite length. I also chose to size up to a small. This dress goes on over your head and some reviews mentioned that being difficult because the neck isn’t very stretchy which is why I decided to go up one. I didn’t have any issues getting it on, but you definitely want to wait until after you have it on to put the finishing touches on your hair. It’s a smock detailing across the chest, so the one size up also made this area fit better.

Six Ways to Wear a Light Blue Top
For the longest time, I would not buy many blue tops. I wore mostly blue jeans and worried it was to color matching. Fast forward to me embracing new jean colors and types of bottoms, and now I love a good blue top. This light blue is a current favorite shade. I think it has more of an earthtone feel than a royal blue or baby blue, but all of these outfits would work with those colors.
Details on this top – It’s a crop style. The sides are more where the crop length is, and the front and back are longer which I really like! The arm holes are a little wider, so I wear a white bandeau bra underneath it so my bra will not show. You could probably also do a low cut cami and tuck it in.
SIX WAYS TO WEAR A LIGHT BLUE TOP
FOR FALL
WITH BLACK JEANS & BOOTS
Black jeans and brown tall boots are my go to for fall outfits and blue tops.

WITH GRAY JEANS & BROWN HEELS
The blue and gray shades work really well together! I always think brown when I think blue, and my brown heels were the perfect pop of color.

WITH BLUE JEANS & BOOTIES
Find a blue shade that provides a slight contrast to your blue top. For a more royal blue, you may try a dark or light wash jean to provide the right amount of contrast. I went with the same brown shade in my booties as above, but light tan ones would work too.

FOR SPRING & SUMMER
WITH WHITE JEANS & FLATS
White jeans works with any color and really helps make the color pop! To keep my look more casual, I opted for a light tan pair of flats. Block heel sandals would work well to dress this outfit up a bit.

WITH DENIM SKIRT & MULES
To play off my favorite way to wear this color for fall, I pulled similar colors to create a spring and summer look. I went with faded black denim for a lighter summer feel, and my brown mules for my warm weather shoe.

WITH WHITE SHORTS & WEDGE SANDALS
For a dressy casual white outfit, pair this blue with white cotton shorts and brown wedges.

Five Ways to Wear Denim Joggers
These denim joggers may be one of my favorite pairs of pants to come out of my current work from home situation. Honestly, I probably never would have tried them otherwise. While working from home, I still try to get dressed most days. I think it helps with my productivity mindset a little. I absolutely have days where I stay in loungewear all day because I also love being comfy cozy while at home.
The thing that intrigued me about these jean joggers was that they may fit both of my needs of feeling dressed for the day but also still comfy. After testing them out for a few weeks, I really think these might be the perfect work from home pants. They have a loose and comfy fit, but they are not super baggy. I like that I can push them up to create a cropped look or leave them full length if I’m a little cold. I’ve mostly them cropped because that was my favorite look plus it’s still a bit warm. These stay up cropped perfectly. The sides have a zipper that you can unzip slightly to fit around your calf muscle.

FOR FALL
WITH A SWEATER
When I put this outfit together, it totally gave me Carrie Bradsaw vibes. I always loved that her outfits featured items that you wouldn’t think to put together but totally worked and looked fabulous. A sweater was not something I originally thought about when I tried on these denim joggers. They have a loose and baggier fit which instantly makes me think of all the fitted top pairings. But that is why the shoes of this outfit are oh so important. I tried on a few different pairs, but this peeptoe dress booties completed this look. It gives it that little bit casual, little bit trendy, and little bit dressy that I love.

WITH A PLAID TOP
A plaid top is the perfect casual pairing with my jean joggers. Since the top has a looser fit instead of tucking it in, I opted to tie at the waist. By doing this it helps bring in the waist line a bit and balance the two looser proportions on top and bottom.

FOR SPRING & SUMMER
DATE NIGHT OUTFIT
Now we move into the more fitted top options. A bodysuit is a perfect pairing with denim joggers. I went with this pink drapey one and tossed on my floral heels to show that you can totally dress up these comfy jeans for a night out on the town!

WITH A TANK TOP & WEDGES
Another summer or spring option would be a fitted tank top. I styled two outfit options for this one. First up with a scoop neck tank top and espadrille wedges for a fun daytime look, perfect for brunch or an afternoon with friends.

WITH A TANK TOP & FLATS
Another outfit option is to pair with a higher neck tank top and flats. I wore this one evening when we had a couple over for dinner. Of the two tanks, this high neck one is my favorite with this denim joggers. I think the two styles compliment each other well. For shoes, I opted for a neutral flat to help with my petite height illusion.

Five Ways to Wear an Orange Top for Different Seasons
Sometimes I go on a little bit of a color crush binge, and I don’t realize it until I see the new items hanging together in my closet. Lately it’s been the color orange. From the burnt orange dress shared a week ago to this floral print top from summer to today’s short sleeve top, and one more orange item coming next week!
For today’s post, I wanted to share how to wear the color orange year round by showcasing it with a few different jean colors that will work in all the different seasons.
Five Ways to Wear an Orange Top for Different Seasons
FOR SPRING, SUMMER, AND FALL
This first outfit will work well for spring, summer and fall. A classic faded blue color works well with the earthtone orange. To keep the look casual, I paired it with a nude colored loafer flat. This light tan color also works well with the orange shade since they both have a hint of warmth to them.

FOR SPRING AND SUMMER
For spring and summer, a light wash blue jean or white jean will work well to help make the orange really pop. With the lighter blue jean, I paired this outfit with my white slides which provides just the right amount of contrast to the light blue. For a white jean, I would opt for a light brown sandal.

FOR SUMMER
Orange is such a fun color to wear in the summer months! A faded black bottom really plays up the earthtone orange color of this top. To add a little bit of a boho vibe to this outfit, I paired it with my light tan booties. The light color also helps to add the illusion of a longer leg which I love as a petite styling tip. You could also go with flat sandals or a fun wedge to change up the look a little.

FOR EARLY FALL
In Texas, I feel like we have two falls – the early warm one and the late one with cooler jacket required temps. For the warmer early fall time of year, dark wash jean is a great option to bring orange into the fall season. To play on the warmth in the top, I paired my darker congac brown mules with this outfit. I cuffed my jeans a little higher than normal to make them just slightly above the ankle which can help make me look a little taller.

FOR LATE FALL
When the cooler temps take over, a pair of black skinny jeans and dark brown over the knee boots will make this top perfect for late fall. I opted for brown over a black boot to keep the look from having too much of a Halloween feel. I chose a black denim, so I could easily toss on a blue denim jacket for a colder day and have a good contrast in my denim colors.
