Yellow Striped Sweater

Happy Friday!!! Anyone have any big plans this weekend?? I have another low key weekend planned which will be my last one for awhile, so I plan to enjoy every relaxing minute of it.
If you have been looking for a great long sleeve lightweight sweater to wear on weekends, I have found it ya’ll. I originally ordered this yellow striped sweater because I loved the shade of yellow. Once it arrived, I realized I could probably live in this sweater. It’s an oversized high/low fit which is super comfy, but the sleeves are fitted. Fitted sleeves on an oversized sweater is super cozy and comfy for me.
With oversized sweaters, I like to do a little front tuck to give the overall look a little shape. I made sure to shoot a couple photos untucked too, because it looks cute that way too. This yellow sweater is also perfect to pair with shorts (worn that way here) and wear on warmer weekends. Hello Texas fall! Also, I have to mention this sweater comes in a few other colors options too. I’m seriously debating the black and white one, because this is one of those tops that will be wearable for many fall and winter seasons ahead.
I paired this yellow shade with these cute pink earrings, because I love the pink and yellow color combo. I think the pink earrings slightly dress up this more casual fall outfit too.
I hope everyone has a great weekend! See you guys back here next week!

Lightweight Sweater for Fall & Link Up

Hello, Hello! How was your weekend? Mine went by too fast as always. I had a pretty laid back weekend and caught up on things around the house. Catch up weekends are sometimes the perfect way to start a new month because I start with a clean house and a shorter to do list.
Yep, I’m still loving this blush pink and gray color combo. It’s a fun and pretty break from my normal dark and jewel tones of the season. You may remember the last time I wore these jeans with my pink cardigan HERE.
Texas fall and winter can be a bit on the warmer side which is why I love this lightweight sweater for fall. First, it’s a thinner knit so you will not get overly warm as with a chunky knit sweater. Second, I love the flowy movement. It helps allow air in, so you can breathe and stay cool. An a-line sweater design is perfect for a long pendant necklace too.
Alright ya’ll, it’s Style File Link Up day, so be sure to keep on scrolling and share your fall outfit inspiration! I can’t wait to check them all out.

Gray Utility Vest + The It Dress of Fall

Happy Friday!! This layered outfit has been planned in my head for quite some time now. I just never could find all the pieces to complete my vision. Utility vests and jackets have been popular for several years. Each year I consider making the purchase, but wait too long and then my size/color combo is gone. I knew I wanted a darker gray shade as opposed to the more popular army or olive green. The darker gray utility vest is more versatile and much more my style. I mean I think gray mixes well with almost all the colors! Imagine it with a pretty burgundy, total swoon!!
Because I love a good layered look, I knew a fitted dress would be perfect to pair with a utility vest. It plays with the proportions a little and keeps the vest from making you look frumpy. Although, I kind of think my burgundy shift dress might look cute too if I tightened the waist of the vest a little to add shape….
Anyways, let’s talk about this black body con dress. If you have Instagram and follow other bloggers, you have probably seen this dress a million times in an array of colors. It is the It dress of Fall for sure! I was already in the market for a casual cotton fitted dress to layer with, so I decided to order and see what all the fuss was about.
I kind of understand the hype on this dress. Body con usually is not my cup of tea unless it’s Girls’ Night Out, but the ruching at the waist and crewneck neckline makes this work for a casual look. It used to come in an olive color, if that comes back in stock I would buy this dress again in that color. It’s easy to move in and comfy, and I have lots of long cardigans to pair it with this winter. 😉
Size Note – I sized up to a Medium. I ordered both sizes, and the small fit on the top half, but was a little too tight for daytime on the bottom half. I felt more comfortable in the Medium size. Some of the site reviews mention certain colors being a bit thinner. The black is not, it’s a good thick material.
Stay tuned to Instagram and Facebook (I’m trying to get in the habit of sharing on both!) because you will see both of these items restyled in some fall daily outfit posts!! I have big plans for both pieces! Ya’ll have a good weekend and thanks for stopping by this week.

How to Style Camo Print & Link Up

A few years ago, I never thought I would be styling camo on the blog! I think it’s a fun print for a v-neck tee for casual errand running or hanging around the house, but I was never big on wearing it much more than that. Lately though, camo is taking over and this print is everywhere. I feel like it’s becoming the next leopard print.
If you are itching to jump on the camo scene, but want something different than basic blue jeans and booties today’s look is for you. Also, nothing wrong with the basic look either. I actually wore this camo cold shoulder top that way for brunch a few weeks ago. Check it out HERE.
A few tips on how to wear camo print while looking chic and stylish – pair with gray or black jeans. I think both of these colors can dress up a tee a little. I chose to pair with gray because I felt the color was a little more unexpected. When trying a new print, why not play a little and go with the color that’s not commonly paired with it.
My basic tip for instant chic – add heels. I know you’ve heard this one before, but it’s the perfect add on. I went with a nude heel because I wanted to keep the eye on the camo and gray combo. If you wear camo with black jeans, try a fun color for your heel like red or pink.
For added style, I chose camo in a super trendy silhouette – the cold shoulder top. It adds a trendier feel to the overall look. This top is so soft ya’ll! I seriously could wear this all day. It’s that soft and comfy.
