Navy Tweed Dress

Happy Friday friends!! When I was in New York with my gal pal, she mentioned that I should watch the show Gossip Girl. I’d started watching it years ago, but only made it through a few episodes. I decided to give it another try after she mentioned all the amazing fashion in the show. Now a couple months later, I am officially addicted. I’m currently in season 3 and loving every episode.
When I put this outfit together, I immediately felt the impact the show was having on me. This navy tweed dress and striped blouse combo reminds of a Blair Waldorf look. I’m just missing my headband. I have such a love for a variety of styles flipping from classic preppy to boho chic to all black edge all in one week. It makes the show even more interesting for me because I can see myself in the outfits of every character.
Ok enough about my new addiction, let’s talk more about this outfit. This navy tweed dress is so gorgeous and comfy! It work perfectly with a blouse underneath for cold days or standalone for warm days. The ribbon detail at the neckline is such a pretty and feminine touch. I love this dress paired with my taupe slouchy boots, although a pair of nude heels would work perfectly too.
I’m so excited to be bringing a little extra holiday content to the blog this year, stay tuned. In preparation, I am decorating for Christmas a little early this year, like this weekend. I want to be sure I have time to shoot everything and share it with ya’ll here before the holidays arrive. First on my to do list today, find a tree. Wish me luck. I hope ya’ll have a wonderful weekend!

Ivory One Shoulder Sweater

Hello Ladies! Anyone else super excited to see Friday arrive? It has been the busiest work week, and I’m so excited for a fun and relaxing weekend. It is officially boots and sweater season here in Houston, so I’m excited to pull out some old favorites and a few new loves this weekend.
If you put away your white jeans after Labor Day, pull them back out! A monochromatic winter white look is one of my faves after my black and gray looks. It has a chic and sophisticated, dressed up feel to it. This ivory one shoulder sweater is so cozy and soft! I’m obsessed with all things one shoulder right now and trying not to buy all of them. You could also pair this sweater with black or dark blue jeans. If you are a fan of colored jeans, I think burgundy and emerald green would go well with this ivory color. This one shoulder top also comes in black.
At the time I wrote this post yesterday, these boots were on sale!! Stuart Weitzman boots are definitely an investment piece because of the price. Right now, these slouchy boots are 40% off which makes them the same price I paid during the Anniversary Sale! I love these boots. I have worn them a couple times now, and I’m really happy I splurged on them. I’m 5’3 and I think the shaft height is perfect for me landing just under the knee. I’ve worn them with dresses and jeans, perfect with both. If you would like something similar with a lower price, I found this one with a slightly higher shaft height but pretty identical.
I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Sweater and Midi Skirt Outfit

Hello Hello! You are not off on your days, I am changing my posting schedule up this week. I have a surplus of fun content to share with ya’ll, so I’m going back to my Mon/Wed/Fri posting schedule for a bit. I’m excited to be back on this schedule and can’t wait to share more with you each week!
One of my favorite fall and winter workwear looks is a sweater and midi skirt outfit. I love a chunky knit sweater paired with a longer skirt. Two sweater options for this look are to go with a shorter slightly oversized sweater like this gray one or a fitted tunic length one. I couldn’t pass up on this gray and pink color combo, so I went with this shorter knit for this look.
Ya’ll this skirt is drop dead gorgeous!! It’s going to be perfect to pair with a fitted body suit for a holiday party later this year or for date night. It has the prettiest pink metallic shimmer. I love the pleated look to increase the beauty of this skirt both walking and standing still. This midi skirt is also really comfy! Because it is a longer midi skirt on my 5’3 height, I opted for a nude heel to help elongate the look and keep it from looking frumpy.
A sneak peek of my content for the week – I’ll be talking my favorite subject SHOES and the most perfect leopard print blouse under $50! See you back here Wednesday and Friday for all the fall fashion fun!

Floral Statement Coat

Hello Hello! I love that I am sharing my final New York outfit while sitting at my gal pal’s apartment in San Antonio. I might need to add travel blogger to my resume soon. 😉 While in New York, I was able to meet the PR team for Cinzia Rocca and check out their spring coat line. Obsessed would be an understatement. When they offered me the opportunity to borrow this coat for my last photo shoot, I immediately said yes.
Living in Texas, I usually stick to the basic jacket and coat styles since I am only going to wear them for about a month or so. I loved the opportunity to play dress up with this gorgeous floral statement coat. The fit of this coat was a dream and would look cute dressed down with jeans or over a body-con or fit and flare dress. The floral jacquard print had a chic feminine feel to it.
With this coat being such a statement piece, I kept the remaining pieces of my outfit pretty simple to let the coat shine. I went with gray and black because I think it complimented the floral print perfectly. This gray and black outfit has been a major go to for me lately with statement pieces. I usually love to wear it with colorful statement jewelry or heels, and I will be transitioning it to fall and winter with my jackets.
