I had been on the hunt for months for the perfect tweed fitted jacket, but had been coming up empty handed. I was starting to feel a little like Goldilocks, this one too long, this one too expensive, and this one just right but not in my size. I was beginning to lose hope, but then I saw this jacket from across the store and fell in love. This jacket was just right, not overly expensive, fitted in all the right places and black, one of my go to colors. It was perfect. One of the first things I thought to pair it with was my Dark Plum skinny jeans. I tend to pair my colored skinny jeans with a white or black top to let the jean color stand out more. I think this outfit will be perfect for a family Thanksgiving event, as long as I don’t spill cranberry sauce on my white shirt. Happy Monday and thanks for stopping by!

I absolutely hate cold weather! It’s always around this time of year that I wish I could migrate south to a tropical island where it is always warm and sip umbrella drinks all day. BUT since I can’t do that, I will just remind myself of the things I can only enjoy in cold weather, like riding boots. Every year I purchase at least one new pair of boots to add to my collection. This year, I added my first pair of over the knee boots! I am petite and have always been a little cautious about buying over the knee boots. My main goal when styling these boots is to not make myself look even shorter! For my first outing in them, I paired them with a high low sweater to help keep the proportions balanced. The high cut of the front of the sweater helps keep my legs looking long from the front view. I love the split back detailing of the back of this sweater, a little surprise for when you walk away. It’s a classic work look, button down top and a pencil skirt. Of course, I added a giant statement necklace to glam it up a bit. I love these little “secret textures” (as I like to call ithem) on pants and skirts. I call it secret because from a distance this looks like just a normal black skirt, but then when you get up close you see the amazing texture detailing. It’s kind of like getting two outfits in one day. When I wear a textured bottom, I usually stick to a solid top. I consider the texture like a print, so I want to keep my blouse a solid color and not have a competing print top. I like adding this statement necklace to help take this everyday work outfit up a notch. I think a statement necklace is a great way to add a little something extra to any outfit. When I first ordered the necklace, I was worried it would be heavy. The first time I put it on, I was a bit taken back since it was not heavy at all! It does have a little weight, but it is nothing you can not wear all day. I have worn this necklace to work with this outfit, touring the Napa wineries in a maxi dress, and brunching with friends in a t-shirt. It is a great necklace to really help transform an outfit.

I cannot believe Christmas is just around the corner! I need to get started on my shopping like yesterday. I know I’m probably a little behind compared to some people. Over the next few weeks, I will be dedicating one post a week to great holiday gift ideas! First up today, gifts for her. When putting this list together, I thought what I would buy my sister, my best friend or my aunt. I personally own this exact elephant pouf and love it. Stella & Dot has different fabric designs to fit every personality. I have a small obsession with elephants, so when I saw this print I gravitated to it immediately! I also have several pairs of Kendra Scott Elle earrings and love the lightweight feel of them. They also come in an array of colors to suit everyone. I am not a big watch wearer, but I have loved the color combo of this Michael Kors one for quite some time. I also have several friends who love Michael Kors watches so much they own multiple.
