Nordstrom Anniversary Sale 2022
NORDSTROM ANNIVERSAY SALE
It’s that time of year for the BIG Nordstrom Anniversary Sale to kick off the fall shopping season. The last round of early access starts at midnight ET, and the sale opens to the public on July 15th. This year I’m focusing my wish list on shoes, denim, and workout/loungewear. I think these are all good areas to stock up on during the sale with good discounts. I included a few roundups from each of these sections in today’s post. I have THREE shoe roundups for ya’ll because you know I can’t narrow it down to one.
I love shopping denim during the sale because it such a close staple, and the NSale is a good opportunity to stock up and save. I found so many cropped and ankle pairs in the sale this year. My petite fashion heart is very happy!
I also found lots of cute work dresses in the sale. The sale is the perfect opportunity to refresh your work wardrobe. If you are looking for tops, pants, or skirts, I find Halogen and Vince Camuto to be good quality and a good price.
My wishlist is filled with workout clothes and loungewear. I’m in need of a good refresh in this section of my closet. I’ve been wearing my current items more often, and the wear is starting to show.
Last, I’m rounding up some brown handbags. A good medium tan brown is a great year round color that works with a variety of outfits. I have a brown crossbody in this shade, and it gets so much use! I included more fab handbags in the sale too in case brown is not your color choice.

Brown Gingham Top + Black Shorts
Every summer I receive requests for more shorts outfits, so ask and you shall receive. My initial thought when I saw this brown gingham top was how perfectly it would pair with a pair of faded black shorts. The embroidered black on the shoulders stands out a bit more with a black bottom. I can also see transitioning this top into fall with black skinny jeans and booties.
The panels with different sized check gingham helps create a slimming illusion which is always a plus. This gingham top has a square neckline which is such a flattering cut. This shirt is the perfect cropped length to pair with shorts this summer. While the arm holes look bigger, they have an lining so this top is bra friendly.
Sizing Notes: I’m wearing an XS in the top. These shorts fit TTS. I linked the same style, but this exact color/distressing is not available this season. Shoes fit TTS.

I could not think of a better way to kick off the long 4th of July holiday weekend than with this bold red maxi dress. If you need a holiday outfit idea this weekend, a red maxi dress is a great option! I love the bold red shade of this dress. It has cute detailing like the ruffle straps, faux buttons, and tiered skirt. The straps are also adjustable with a button on the back. This red dress is ever so slightly see through. I honestly didn’t notice until I looked at a photo. I added in a slip underneath just to be safe. On my petite height, this dress is not flat sandals friendly. I paired it with wedge sandals to help it fall to the perfect just above the ground length.
Sizing Notes: I’m wearing an XS. This dress has no zipper and must go on over your head. I would size based on your bust size. It does have smocking on the back to help give a little bit more stretch. The straps have 3 button holes to allow for strap adjustment. I’m wearing the straps on the middle/2nd hole. Sandals fit TTS.

What to Wear to a Country Concert
I found this Dolly Parton graphic tee a few months ago when the Houston Rodeo was going on. I knew it would be perfect to create a western inspired rodeo outfit. We didn’t end up making a trip to the rodeo this year, so I’m going to have to save it for next year. If you are heading to a festival or concert this summer, a graphic band tee paired with distressed denim shorts would be the perfect outfit for what to wear to a country concert. You could add a few more western touches like cowboy boots or a cowboy hat. I kept it simple with these tan booties that have a little western flair.
No concerts coming up? This outfit still works for a fun casual weekend to hang out with friends or head to a county or state fair. You could even dress it up with a pair of white jeans and denim jacket for a brunch ready look.
Sizing notes: I think this top runs small. I’m wearing the Women’s medium and it’s a little more fitted than I was wanting. I was hoping for a bit of a looser t-shirt fit compared to a more fitted shirt. For these shorts, they run tts. My pair is from last summer. I linked the same style, but it looks like this exact color/distressing patter isn’t currently available.
