Loose and flowy for the heat, fun bold summer print, work friendly silhouette, this brown minidress check all the boxes for a great summer work dress. In addition to the office, this dress would also be perfect for any bridal/baby shower events, church, or luncheons that you have planned this summer. I find the square neckline to be super flattering. The top of the sleeves have elastic making it really easy to turn this into an off the shoulder dress for a transition to date night or happy hour. We are just a few weeks away from the big 4th of July weekend. I wanted to share a quick and easy 4th of July outfit idea including items that you may already have in our closet. A blue denim shirt and white shorts is a classic summer outfit combo and two closet staples. The blue and white gives you the perfect patriotic color combo. You could also add in a little red in your jewelry, shoes, or with a headband.
My denim ruffle buttondown shirt has a loose breathable fit and a cute ruffle shoulder detail. The shorter length of this top pairs perfectly with a pair of shorts. I’m wearing this top in an XS Petite. You could do the regular length to add in a little bit of length. I went with an XS since this is a boxy fit. My wedge sandals are a true to size fit.

If you are looking for a fabulous maxi dress to toss on all summer long, I have you covered with this blue ruffle maxi dress. It has such an amazing fit, moves beautifully, and is a gorgeous shade of blue. The ruffle details on the dress and sleeves add a bit of a feminine touch and enhance the movement of this dress. The length works perfect on my petite height. I can even wear it with flat sandals for a more casual look. I wore this last month to a gal pal’s birthday lunch, and it helped me create the perfect dressy casual outfit with my heeled sandals.
I’m wearing this dress in an XS and found the fit true to size. It does have to go on over your head, no zipper. If you are bigger in the bust area, you may consider sizing up. I wear a half size up in these sandals.

Chic Knit Turtleneck Tank for Summer
Last week, we enjoyed a fabulous weekend vacation in Florida. It was a fun and relaxing trip filled with many beach days and time with friends. We were welcomed back to Houston with 100 degree temps, and Steve and I decided to move our photo shoots indoors this summer. I feel like it’s going to be a hot one this year, and we will probably be spending lots of time at the pool to keep cool.
A knit top might seem a bit of an odd choice for a hot summer but this chic knit turtleneck tank is really breathable. It’s a loose knit that I layered over a white cami. I love the ivory shade to mix with a variety of colors like white denim, colorful cotton shorts, and these medium blue frayed hem jeans. This knit top is perfect for the office too!
For all my petite gals looking for frayed hem jeans this season, this ankle length pair is perfect. They hit at the perfect length to pair with flats and heels on my 5’3 height.
Sizing Notes: After reading reviews, I sized up 2 on this top to a medium. I’m glad I did because that size fit perfectly. The jeans are a true to size fit, and sandals are a 1/2 size up.
