Happy Monday! It’s been a hot minute since I posted a little work outfit inspiration. I am someone who is always cold, so when the weather starts to cool off I tend to lean towards sweaters and pants. I do love to try to find a few warm dresses that I can wear with leggings and boots. Long sleeve jersey knit and sweater dresses are a big cold weather favorite of mine.
Whenever I think of a sweater dress, I picture either a chunky, oversized, shift dress or a straight, hugging all the wrong places dress. The first is one I love to wear because they are really comfy. The latter, not so much. This striped sweater dress caught my eye originally because of the stripe design and placement. The larger stripes gradually getting smaller is a great eye trick for looking slimmer. Once I realized it was a comfy knit, I was sold. The fit and flare design helps to add a little shape to the overall look and prevents the dress from hugging my hips in all the wrong places.
It’s a solid knit, so you don’t have to wear a slip underneath it. This dress is so perfect for work, and it would also work for an office holiday party. The quality of the dress is amazing for under $100. I sometimes get a little nervous ordering sweater dresses online, because you never know what the knit will look like in person. I can tell you this is a good one!
After a wonderful extra long weekend, it’s back to the office for 5 long days. Luckily, it’s a busy week, so it should fly by!! Thanks for stopping by. May your coffee be strong, and your Monday be short! 😉

Okay, so I just have to say the Adele concert was AMAZING!! My friend and I had so much fun singing our little hearts out. Adele is a talker during her show. She gives fun details about each song and the story behind it and small peeks into her life. It was really cool, and I definitely feel like Adele and I are BFFs now. 🙂
Now onto our next Holiday Gift Guide!! This one is all about him! I have rounded up some of the best gift ideas for men, well I think they are fabulous at least… From gadgets and gizmos to tailgating necessities, I found some really fun and a few semi unique items. When shopping for men, I always look for something basic like the fleece pullover or shaving kit and something fun, hello Beer Pong Game! If you are completely stumped on what to buy, I find a bbq tool set or cooler is a great generic go to gift.
A few more fun ideas are sports tickets. Basketball and hockey will still be in season January through April, so you should be able to find tickets. Football only has one weekend of regular season left after Christmas and it’s on New Year’s Day. Just something to think about if you want to do football. I think many men LOVE food and/or booze, think gift cards to a great steak restaurant, a food and drink pairing dinner, or a brewery tour. Still stumped? This site is one of my favorite places to look for unique gifts or just for some ideas. I also have more options in my gifts for him page. I’m always adding to it as I find new gift ideas.
Happy Shopping and THANKS for stopping by!

Cold Shoulder Top + Blush for Fall

| DETAILS |
BOBEAU Cold Shoulder Top | PAIGE DENIM White Skinny Jeans | VINCE CAMUTO Katleen Peep toe Booties | FRANCESCA’S Gray Stone Tassel Necklace | BOURBON & BOWTIES Bangle Set | KENDRA SCOTT Sophie Drop Earrings | STREET LEVEL Reversible Tote Bag | Nails: ESSIE c/o Satin Sister
One trend I am happy to see carryover from spring and summer is the cold shoulder top. I love showing off that hint of skin on your shoulder while still being able to wear a regular bra. This trend will also be sticking around for winter as many sweaters also feature this cutout. This blush color is another item sticking around for fall. It’s a slightly lighter version of the pantone color of the year, rose quartz.
I loved blush and white together in Spring and decided to make this color combo work for me in fall. The top paired perfectly with my white jeans which I am still wearing on the regular! The blush of this top had more of an earth tone feel, so I paired it with these brown booties that also helped me keep a more casual look. You can easily dress this up with a pair of nude heels. I did want to bring one dark piece to the look, so I added a black tote bag.
This top is amazing, super comfy with a hint of stretch and really soft! I could definitely see this top doubling as loungewear down the road. It’s only $49 and comes in a couple other colors too like black and blue.
I’m so excited to FINALLY see Adele in concert tonight!! I have had all of her CDs on repeat all week, so I am ready to go. It is going to be the longest work day ever. 🙂 Ya’ll have a good one and thanks for swinging by!!

Mad about Plaid

| DETAILS |
BP Plaid Tunic *40% off! | JOES JEANS Dark Skinny Jeans | CHARLES DAVID Lace-Up Heels | GIGI NY All in One Bag | KENDRA SCOTT Elle Earrings in Slate, Elisa Necklace, Arden Bracelet (similar) | RAYBAN Mirrored Aviators | Lips: PIXI Sheer Rose | Nails: ESSIE c/o Satin Sister
One of my favorite things about plaid is to see the different color pairings in each one. I saw this navy and burgundy plaid tunic online months ago and fell in love. It immediately found it’s way to my current cravings list. Once I saw it in store, I became even more smitten with the color combo. This top is a tunic length which makes it perfect to pair with leggings and boots or underneath a chunky knit sweater in winter. I definitely see more of this color combination in my fall and winter future!
I am so excited for this week, because I have so many fun activities going on. It starts with a ZTA Alumnae gathering, followed by a night with my bestie Adele, and ends with the mega holiday shopping extravaganza, The Nutcracker Market.
I am the most excited about the Adele concert. I have had tickets for a year!! Her last Houston concert like 4 years ago was cancelled because of her throat surgery, and I have been waiting for her to come back ever since then. I also took Thursday and Friday off work for the Nutcracker Market. Yes my Houston readers, I am one of those crazies who goes first thing when it opens! Although I am thinking about going later in the afternoon this year to let the crowds calm down a bit. The market is amazing, but not when it’s so crowded you can’t move or go in any of the booths. Now I just have to get through these 3 work days!! Ya’ll have a great week, and thanks for stopping by!!
OH and SALE ALERT – Nordstrom is having a Fall Clearance Sale with 40% off many items including some fall and winter staples like boots and coats.
