I have said it before and I will say it again, I am not a fan of winter. My winter clothes probably make up like 10% of my closet. Most of the times during winter, I just toss a cardigan on over my fall and spring dresses to winterize them up a bit. The only downside is this usually covers up some really beautiful tops and dresses! As soon I saw this Dobbin Clothing dress, I was in love! I love that there is movement from the blouson sleeve, but the dress is still fitted in the body. I also love the cut of the v-neck on this dress. I think it comes to the perfect point on the chest. Don’t even get me started on the plum color, it’s definitely up there on my favorite colors to wear list. The cold January temperature we have been having was keeping this dress hanging in my closet just staring at me. I will normally pair my long sleeve button down shirts underneath sleeveless sheath dresses, and so I decided to take a fashion chance and try it under my Dobbin Sylvie dress. Can I just say I definitely had an I’m a genius moment!! I love love love the way this dress looks alone with a pair of pumps, but I was amazed how fabulous it looked with a button down underneath. This is definitely where the great cut of the v-neck comes in handy to allow the button down shirt to rest so perfectly on the top of the dress. Feeling inspired, I decided to toss on my favorite pair of brown boots, and viola – a winter look from a fall/spring dress! I’m so excited to discover a new way to wear some of my favorite dresses ,but I am most excited to finally get to take this dress out for a spin!!

Hello Holiday Monday! Am I the only one still playing catch up from the holidays?? I’m so excited to have an extra day this weekend. I think it has rained the last three weekends straight, which means I did not get much done. Not only do I have an extra day this weekend, but the sun is out! Perfect weather to be productive and tackle my ever growing to-do list. Even though, I am not heading in to the office today. I still wanted to share some office outfit inspiration. I love love love this skirt! When it first came in the mail, I was worried it was to long for my petite height, but once I put it on I really liked the length. For starters, the length is perfect for boots. I love how it covers the top portion of the boot. I can get away with wearing my navy fleece lined leggings and no one will know they don’t match. The material is also thick which was perfect for the cold days we had last week. Isn’t the scalloped lace beautiful on this skirt? It was what originally drew me to this skirt. Because of the length and fullness of the skirt, I kept my top fitted and simple. A full top and bottom would be too overwhelming with my petite height. I love the way the dark violet compliments the gray of the skirt. The violet and gray colors standout from each other while still working together. Now off to tackle that to do list!!!

One of my favorite weekend activites is brunch with my girlfriends! Champagne, gossip, good food – what’s not to love! My girlfriends and I like to hit up different spots all around the Houston area, always looking to try something new. For brunch with my girls, I try to keep my look simple, casual and chic. This blouse was on my must buy list when I hit the Cyber Monday sales this year. I love the effortless look a silk blouse has when paired with skinny jeans. You know I love loose and flowing tops! This one gives me that feel, while still having a little structure. I also love the cream color because it can be paired with so many things! For work, I can wear this blouse under cardigans and sweaters, or even under a sleeveless dress. I definitely need more silk blouses! Fun fact about my clutch, it is actually a crossbody. You have seen me wear it before here. The strap is removable and converts into a nice little clutch. I also have to mention these shoes! I love the cutouts on them! I debated over these shoes for months! I had fallen in love with a picture of them online and was not sure if I would like the look of the cutouts once I put the shoe on. I took the plunge and purchased the nude color (these also come in black) and have been in love! I really like how they look with a cuffed jean, adding a little glamour to an otherwise casual look. I also like how they sort of look like a bootie, but when you take a second look you realize oh wait those are heels! I’m looking forward to pairing these with some fun dresses this spring. I am ready for brunch, bring me a mimosa!! I am also sooo ready for this nice long three day weekend! AND the sun finally came out in Houston yesterday, so it is definitely going to be the perfect brunch weather! Have a fabulous weekend!

I love a good cowl neck sweater. You can mix it up and wear it several ways. On colder days, you can tighten up the cowl neck portion to create a more turtleneck look, or open it up and show off a beautiful necklace. Lately, I have been gravitating toward feminine detailing. The scalloped edges and cutout design on this skirt are so beautiful. These two pieces go together perfectly! Plus, camel and black are one of the hottest color combinations right now! It is gorgeous and fun pieces like these that make me think maybe winter isn’t so bad after all!
