I went to the Loft on my lunch break a few weeks ago for a pair of pants and my saleswoman said the magic words “Everything is 50% off”.  Talk about a lunch power hour!  This amazing quilted dress was one of a few dresses I picked up.  I absolutely love the quilted detailing of the dress. I am a huge fan of solid colors with textured detailing right now.  I think the texture adds a fresh look on everyday silhouettes.  Shopping on my lunch break can sometimes lead to impulse shopping, so when speed shopping I think about how many ways can I style this piece, the more ways I can think of the more likely I am to buy it.  I usually apply this philosophy to all shopping ventures, but especially when speed shopping to prevent impulse buys I will regret later. When I saw this dress, I immediately thought of multiple ways to style it and I was SOLD! For fall when the weather is still warmer, a pump is perfect. This dress also looks great solo with a colorful cardigan over it.  With the temperature slowly dropping, I plan to style this with black boots and a darker button down for winter.  I think this gray will look amazing with a maroon/oxblood top!  Next time you are out shopping and undecided about a purchase, think about how many different ways you can wear the piece.  If you can think of at least 3, it may be worth purchasing!

First , if you have never been to a Kendra Scott store, I highly recommend stopping in one ASAP.  One of my favorite features of the store is The Color Bar , warning it can be addicting.  If you have never tried it before, the basics are you create your own jewelry in store, and you get to take it home with you that day!  You pick what piece you want to create, the metal, and then last the stone color.  They will pull out multiple stone colors for you to compare, and then voila, your own custom piece of Kendra Scott Jewelry! I’m a hundred percent someone who always thinks I’d like this better if it was with that, so the color bar is perfect for me!  I also love that you can take home the jewelry that day and do not have to wait a few weeks like with a normal custom order.  I made the necklace in today’s post at The Color Bar a few weeks ago.  While you are at the store, check out the gorgeous silver stud earrings featured in today’s post (they also come in gold).  These are my go to earrings and were worn almost daily until I picked up these from the new collection.

I am a huge fan of buying things “off-season,” especially shoes like wedges and boots!  These wedges were purchased for about 75% off in the middle of winter. And since you cannot wear them for a few months, it is always a fun way to start any season by pulling out all of my new off-season stock up items.  I tend to forget about the items I buy, so when I get to pull them out after a few months, I fall in love with them all over again!  It is also a great time to stock up on other summer essentials like swimwear, cover-ups, tanks, and shorts!  Below are some currently on sale wedges that I have my eye on!

As you can probably tell from my posts this week, I love pairing black tops with colorful skirts.  This dark magenta Halogen skirt stole my heart at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale this summer!  Besides the gorgeous color, it really is a comfortable skirt and I am planning to go back and buy the dark camel one soon.  I like pairing pencil skirts with a looser fitting top to create a little juxtaposition between top and bottom.   Striped lightweight blouses are popping up everywhere right now, and I love it!  For starters they are really comfortable, and second you can pair them with everything!  Skirts, Work Pants, Jeans, Shorts, seriously everything.   I linked a few of my favorites below.
