Dressing Up Plaid Shirts & Link Up

I’m so excited to share this purple and black plaid with ya’ll today! Awhile back, I posted a similar plaid (that really old post here) that I just loved and wore all the time. But it’s a much tighter fit then it used to be ;), and I really wanted to find a similar color scheme with a looser, comfier fit. This one is probably the most similar I have found with the black background and purple and white plaid design. It also has a hint of red. It’s a lightweight flannel material, so it’s going to be nice to wear in winter too. It’s the perfect plaid to replace my old fave.
Since I love finding ways to dress up my casual items. I wanted to share a few ways I dress up plaid shirts. For starters, the easy option – add a chic heel. These black heels have been my ride or die for work since I purchased them. I wear them about 3 times a week, and they are still really comfy.
Another idea for dressing up plaid is all about the accessories. I picked up these gunmetal statement earrings recently. I had two style ideas in mind for them – 1) Dressing up a basic tee and 2) Holiday earrings!! Imagine them with a chic black sweater and black leggings for a Christmas party outfit. Cute, right?!?! I loved the way the gunmetal complimented this plaid. I think it gave the look a little more of an edgy and trendy vibe.
Last, you can never go wrong with a great black pair of skinny jeans. Such a simple and easy way to instantly dress up and add chicness to any outfit. You may remember me mentioning these Hudson jeans during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. They were the pair I was waiting to come back in stock in my size. Well they did, and I’m in love. Ya’ll AG and Paige have been my go to denim brands, but this pair OMG so comfy for a skinny jean. I’m going to give them a few months of washing and wearing, but Hudson may be making it’s way on to my list of must own denim brands!

Red Off the Shoulder Blouse + LINK UP

Hello lovelies!! So about a month or so ago, I was reading an article about Victoria Beckham, one of my celebrity style faves. She talked about colors affecting your mood, and red being happy, optimistic, and strong. She was wearing a red dress at the time for one of her collection launches at Saks.
I really liked the idea of color boosting your mood and making you feel strong, powerful and a little happy too. It was on my mind when I was trying to decide on which color to buy this gorgeous top in. It comes in 14 different colors and prints. I saw the red, and my mind thought back to that article and said yep I’m getting this in red.
I love off the shoulder tops that have some support at the neckline. It holds them in place, so no worries about keeping your top up. The flowy chiffon material is so pretty and moves really well. It is slightly sheer in the body portion. I didn’t feel like I needed anything under the red, but a lighter shade might need something. Bonus by the way, this top is currently on sale for 40% off!
Another good thing about this red off the shoulder blouse, it is going to transition perfectly into fall with some black jeans.
Alright you guys, it’s Style File Link Up day!!! Keep on scrolling to share a little style inspiration or to check out more outfit ideas. Thanks for stopping by ya’ll.

Gray Side Tie Tank & Statement Necklace + Link Up

Hello Ladies! I’m so excited to share this outfit with ya’ll today. When I originally saw this necklace, I pictured it styled with a casual crew neck tee or tank, pretty much exactly like this combo today. I love love love this casual glam mix. This outfit would be so fun for a date night with your special someone or wine night with your favorite gal pals.
This tank is designed with slits on the side, so you can really easily tie one side to achieve the super trendy knotted tee look. I like having the do it yourself option, so you can tie as high or low as you prefer. You can also leave it untied for an always chic tunic look.
Of course I had to pair this gray side tie tank with my white skinny jeans. I mean nothing pairs well with gray casual glam than chic white jeans. Also, I have to mention that my necklace is currently marked down along with a few other favorites seen here on the blog. I mean if you aren’t shopped out from the Nordstrom Sale, you should definitely check out some of these summer sale pieces!
Alright ya’ll, it is Style File Link Up day, so keep on scrolling and share your fabulous outfit ideas. I can’t wait to see what you are styling this week. Thanks for stopping by and have fab week!

NSALE Find: Cold Shoulder Sweater & Link Up

Hello Hello! I’m sharing another cute little Nordstrom Anniversary Sale find today! Ok I know it’s totally not the season or weather for this top, but by the time it is I feel like this cute cold shoulder sweater will no longer be available. I decided why not share it now and while it’s still on sale!
This sweater has several cute little details from the lace like knit across the chest to the pretty shoulder ruffles to the fun shoulder cutouts. I liked this sweater because it was different and had some pretty and feminine touches.
The sweater is on the thinner side, so you may need a cami underneath it. I didn’t wear one for the pics, but I might when I officially wear it out. I love thin lightweight sweaters, because we really don’t get much cold winter days, so they are perfect.
Also, you guys I found my purple bag online!!! Like the exact one! I purchased mine at Nordstrom Rack a few years ago, and I rarely find it anywhere online. So if you eye it every time I share it, there it is!!
It’s also Style File Link Up Day! So scroll on down to share your latest outfit post or to find more fabulous style inspiration. Thanks for stopping by.
