Yellow Floral Paperbag Shorts

Well I finally added some new shorts to my closet for summer and just in time for the hottest month of the year. These yellow floral shorts are so comfy and feel like I’m living in loungewear with a much more polished look. Paperbag shorts come in a variety of styles, material and fit. The waist sort of resembles a paper bag which is where the name comes from.
The slip on style and elastic waist band is what contributes to the comfiness of these shorts. They are a lightweight and breathable material designed to fit slightly loose. The tie waist bow helps give a dressed up look to these shorts. With the flowy style, these shorts pair really well with fitted tanks and tees. I’ve also paired this top with my ivory cami HERE. While I know many of us are not traveling right now, I think this look would make a great vacation outfit! It also works for a daytime party or just a casual day at home. These shorts do fit a little big. I’m wearing an XS in them.

Zebra Print Summer Sweater

Yep you read that right, a summer sweater in the Texas heat! This zebra print summer sweater is lightweight and breathable, so it does work with warmer weather. As someone who is always cold, I love summer sweaters for indoor events. They will keep me a little warmer indoors where the a/c is blasting, but I can easily go sit outside and be comfortable.
The tan color of this print gives it such a chic and dressed up feel. It pairs perfectly with white shorts or jeans for a sophisticated and polished look. You can change out your shoes to work with different occasions like flat sandals for more casual or nude colored block heel sandals for a dressier look. This top will also transition well into fall by changing out the white jeans for dark wash flared jeans and heels or skinny jeans with booties.
Stay tuned next week, I have one more week of summer outfits for you before we start transitioning into fall. We will be talking all about shorts next week to get you through this final month of summer which is always the hottest here in Houston. After that, I will be sharing how I’m transitioning some of my summer pieces to fall and of course all things Nordstrom Anniversary Sale which starts next week for the top 2 Nordy Club tiers.

Boho Chic Outfit | Blue Floral Tank Top

Hello Ladies! So did ya’ll preview the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale over the weekend? I took a little peek and decided flared jeans are on my priority list this year! I picked up this affordable option last year and wear them so much! I decided to splurge on a pair this year. Dark wash flared jeans are great for a casual office environment, creating a dressed up casual look, and transforming flowy tops into a boho chic outfit.
The semi-cropped length, flowy style, and floral print of this top transform into boho chic when paired with flared jeans. I added in my espadrille wedges to complete the look. Want to make this top have more of a dressed up feel? A few weeks ago, I paired it with white shorts and flat sandals for a different look. You have to love that versatility.
I like that the dark blue of these jeans pulls out the darker shades of blue in the floral top as well as helps the white and orange really pop! This blue floral tank top is super flowy and lightweight which makes it perfect for the summer heat.

Dark Floral Off the Shoulder Top

Hello Hello! Today’s look really makes me want to go grab brunch with my gals because this is exactly what I would wear! My dark floral off the shoulder top pairs perfectly with white cotton shorts or white denim for summer and easily transitions into fall with black or dark wash jeans. I wore this top to our house closing with light wash denim, and the two complimented each other perfectly.
The off the shoulder area has a smocked detail which I think helps hold it in place. It does move a bit, but it stays down pretty well. The bottom is a banded waist which I think is perfect for pairing with shorts! It gives the look of a tucked in top without actually dealing with keeping it perfectly tucked in.
How was your weekend? I really started tackling the organization of my bathroom and closet and made some good progress. I made a Target run for some under the sink containers and ordered these bins to help create a dresser area in the master closet. My next big project will be to organize all my hanging clothes again. I like them in order of sleeve length and style like all my plaids together, solid tanks together, going out tops together, etc. Do you organize your hanging clothes or just toss them all in?
