Summer to Fall Transitional Outfit

Happy Friday! I’m sticking with my summer to fall transitional outfit theme of the week with this adorable coral sleeveless top. Since Texas will still be on the warmer side for another month or more, I like to buy lightweight sleeveless or short sleeve tops in pretty fall colors. The color makes me feel fall, but the style helps me survive the heat a little. This top also has super cute shoulder detailing too. I think my hair covers it in all the pictures….
I kept this outfit super casual with my new AG jeans. I love to cuff my skinny jeans and pair them with heels and mule sandals. I think the cuff works so well with these taupe mule sandals. These sandals have been getting a bit of wear over the past month with many of my jean outfits. I love that they have a casual vibe, but with the right dress can also have a slightly dressier feel to them.
I am heading to a friend’s wedding this weekend. I cannot wait to dance the night away. Per my usual, I ordered a dress from Rent the Runway. Stay tuned to Instagram for the big reveal. This one is a total stunner! Ya’ll have a great weekend!!

Black Cami & Brown Booties

Hello ladies!! Well, I am officially back in Texas and home from my first New York Fashion Week. It was a whirlwind a few days, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon. The last few days, we experienced some nice fall weather, but back in Texas means back to the heat and all my summer faves like this black and white look. Most of the runway shows I attended featured tons of black and white looks, so I think this a perfect post fashion week outfit.
This black and white cami was a late summer purchase. I love pairing camis with jeans for a date night or to grab a drink or dinner with friends. This one pairs perfectly with all the jean colors, but I love the contrast with the white jeans. These brown booties provided the perfect color pop for this black and white look. The suede and western style helps make this outfit look more fall while still helping me stay cool. The western vibe of these boots also made me want to add a bit or turquoise into the overall look. Hello gorgeous statement earrings.
I’m taking today off work to relax, recover and catch up on blog work. I hope ya’ll have a fabulous week. Thanks for stopping by!

Work Wear: Navy Lace Blouse

Happy Friday!! I am so ready for this long 3 Day Weekend! I have so much to do before I leave for New York Fashion Week on Wednesday. It’s my first year going, and I’m so excited for the shows and parties I am scheduled to attend. Don’t worry I will be sharing pics here when I get back!
For all my southern gals, I have the perfect work wear outfit for our warm fall weather! I picked up this navy lace blouse during the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. It’s a super lightweight semi sheer crinkle fabric which gives it some breathability. I wear a black cami with it since it’s semi-sheer, but it doesn’t make it too hot. I am a huge fan of navy and gray together, so I have been pairing this top with all my gray bottoms from jeans to skirts to my favorite ankle work pants. The style of this top makes it easily styled for both work and weekends.
I hope ya’ll have a fabulous Labor Day Weekend! If you are in a shopping mood, don’t forget about all the Labor Day Sales going on the next few days!

Birthday Celebrations

I have always been a big fan of celebrating birthdays from friends to family members to my own. Over the years, I have celebrated with everything from intimate dinners to nights out dancing. Last year, Hurricane Harvey hit and well honestly I wasn’t really up for even acknowledging that it was my birthday. So many people were watching their lives wash away, so many more important things were happening. I enjoyed the sweet texts and calls from friends, popped a bottle of champagne in my pjs, and got one of the sweetest birthday gifts ever. My birthday was the day it finally stopped raining in Houston and the sun came out. After multiple days of rain and flooding, it was the only thing I wanted for my birthday.
This year my friends insisted we celebrate a little extra, so I decided why not. One of my favorite activities is sipping wine on a patio, so I rented out a rooftop patio at a local wine bar and celebrated under the stars and twinkle lights with some of my closest friends. The night was filled with laughter, fun, and lots of wine. The pretty material things I own, the closet full of clothes and shoes are nice, but my past two birthdays have been good reminders that friends, family, and laughter are more important than all the pretty little things. To those who made sure my birthday was still a little special last year, and those who made this year’s birthday amazing, Thank You!
My official birthday is Wednesday. I already have a massage booked and an intimate dinner with a few girlfriends scheduled. I cannot wait to conclude what has been a fabulous week celebrating my birthday with family and friends.
For my party, I rented this cute little white paint stroke dress from Rent the Runway. I have had it in my hearts list for awhile. A summer birthday party was the perfect excuse to finally rent it. It fit like a glove, and the open back and lightweight material was perfect for the warm evening.
