I’m taking a bit of a fashion break today to share one of my other favorite things, Christmas Decorations! I am one of those crazies who has tubs upon tubs of Christmas decorations that I pull out every year. I take down all my normal everyday decor and transform my house into a winter wonderland. This year, however, I had the pleasure of enjoying the Christmas decorations at one of the most magical places on earth, Walt Disney World. They definitely know how to decorate! The park transforms overnight into a beautiful winter wonderland with no detail left out.
The highlight for a trip to Disney is the Magic Kingdom castle. At night the castle comes to life, as lights ice the castle and make it visible from everywhere in the park.
Although before you reach the castle, Candy Cane Garden and Toy Soldiers greet you. Main Street is adorned with garland, wreaths, poinsettias, and more!
Probably one of my favorite sights to check out is the transformation of the bushes into characters like Mickey and Minnie and snowmen.
Epcot’s World Showcase shares traditions from around the world including different Santa traditions.
I could and did spend hours just walking around admiring the different decor in the countries. A few of my favorites were the ornament displays in France, the garland that adorned the buildings and entrances, and the Christmas tea in England.
My trip would not have been complete without a trip to the life-size Gingerbread house at the Grand Floridian. Check out that ingredient list! That is a lot of honey and sugar! Everything you see is edible including the sugar flowers and the chocolate Santa.
Even their mini Gingerbread houses are amazing! I am going to have to work on my decorating skills this year! Of course, holiday decorations would not be complete without a tree! Check back tomorrow to see all the park trees and my fashion posts will be back up on Friday! Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas!

A girl should always be prepared. That was pretty much my reasoning when I found this gorgeous Jay Godfrey dress on sale this summer. I was shopping for a dress to wear at a wedding and came across this little number. Jay Godfrey makes beautiful dresses that are perfectly cut! While I felt this was a little too formal for the event I was heading to, I could not pass up on this gorgeous dress and its amazing sale price. So I bought it to save for later, just in case a formal affair popped up in my future. I love the idea of having a formal dress ready to go in my closet! I have had friends call me last minute in the past with a free ticket to an amazing downtown party or opera ball, and me left with nothing to wear and not enough time to shop. I also think this would make an amazing New Year’s Eve dress! The sweetheart cut of this dress is perfection. It hides all the right areas while enhancing others. I love mixing with this quilted leather jacket to tone down the formal look a bit for New Year’s Eve plus help keep me warm. I also think it adds a little rocker edge to the outfit. And do not even get me started on the color of this dress! AMAZING! The color was one of the top reasons I could not walk away from this dress.

It is part 2 of One Sweater Two Ways. Today is all about styling for a weekend casual look. For me, this outfit is perfect for my family Christmas party this weekend! The high/low style of this sweater is great for layering! I love cream and maroon together especially when partnered with a sprinkling of gold jewelry. In Houston, the December weather is unpredictable. I always compare it more to fall weather than winter. Layered looks are a great way to plan for those warm afternoons and cold evenings. My family gatherings are typically all day affairs, so being able to add and remove layers for the temperature changes throughout the day is helpful! If I am too warm in the afternoon, I can loosely tie my sweater around my waist until the evening cold front comes in. I chose to wear these fabulous taupe booties to keep my look more casual, but a pair of nude heels would also pair well with this outfit. A sweater that I can wear both to the office and on the weekend is a gold mine perfect piece for my wardrobe. I purchased this sweater last season, but I linked some great similar sweaters above. If you would like to see the first way I styled this sweater, head to my Wednesday post where I styled this sweater for the office. Hope you all have a festive and fabulous weekend!

ONE WEEK UNTIL CHRISTMAS! If you haven’t started your Christmas shopping yet, you are definitely officially behind. You are also getting very close to the end of many online retailers “guaranteed delivery by Christmas” programs. Many online retailers who also have physical stores have recently started offering a cool feature to pick up in store or find in a store near you. For you last minute shoppers, this may be the perfect feature for you. Today’s gift guide is all items from retailers who offer this feature. While you cannot avoid the crazy parking lots, you can somewhat avoid the crazy crowds inside the store. At most stores, this feature allows you to pick out and purchase your item from home, so you can just run inside and pick it up at a special counter in store. Need more gift ideas? Below are links to all of my holiday gift guides this year! Happy Shopping!
