I have a confession; I really dislike having to tuck my shirt in!  Sometimes just because it’s annoying and sometimes out of pure laziness.  While this often causes me to lean towards buying tops that do not need to be tucked in, sometimes you come across a gorgeous top like this bow top one or even just your regular button down cotton work shirts.  I am constantly trying to think of ways to wear these work tops untucked without looking unprofessional.  It is my deconstructed office style.  I think skinny work pants go a long way to helping this look not come off as frumpy.  When I am wearing my regular work pants with a slight flare to the bottom and an untucked shirt, the look has no shape.  If I wear this top with my other work pants or a skirt, I feel it needs to be tucked in to help define the waist.  Otherwise the overall look just feels not complete.  With my skinny pants though, it just feels like a more laid back office look.  I think the tapered skinny leg really helps to show off a little bit of your body shape, so you do not need the defined waist.  It is a great pant that helps you be a little lazy without looking it.

Size note on my Loft skinny pants, they definitely stretch with wear!  I think my next pair I am going to buy a little tighter than they should be so they do not look so baggy by the end of the day!

That’s so funny, I always want to wear tops that I CAN tuck in because my husband is a belt artisan and I have more belts than clothes!!

I think you’re totally right though, with these skinny pants you don’t need to tuck it in. you could try a nice skinny belt overtop of it and pairing this top with a pencil skirt, you certainly have a nice figure to be able to pull it off!

Thanks for joining the #reasonstodress linkup hope to have you back today!

Adorable! I love this look and am totally with you when it comes to tucked in shirts. It is also a bother to me when pants stretch out by the end of the day. Cute, cute, cute! Thanks for linking up with Oak + Oats and According to Laura Jean!

  8. I like your blouse!

Black and white are my corporate colours for the office so I have lots of white blouses. With the warmer weather I am now swapping my trousers for black skirts.

  9. Ursula says:

I’m generally the same way about tucking in my shirt but I must admit lately I’ve been into the half tuck and I love it!

  11. I love your shoes!! And I agree about tucking in the shirt…the shirt or pants are either not the right length.

You look super cute, and I hate tucking in my shirt too! In all honesty, I rarely think the “tucked-in look” looks good anyway!
