During fall and winter, I love layered looks. An easy layered look is to toss on a fun jacket or blazer over your top. You can also wear an over-sized sweater over long tunics and tops. One layering technique that I love is adding a sweater vest. I have a couple that I wear in spring and summer, but I really wanted to add a few that would work in fall and winter. This one from The Mint Julep Boutique was pretty much exactly what I had in mind when I started my search. For starters, I love the charcoal color. This dark gray works with so many colors which increases the number of outfits I can create out of it. I also love the fringe trim to add a fun little detail to the vest. The knit design of this sweater vest was also a big selling point for me. It just says cozy and warm all over it. Sweater vests are great to toss on over silk blouses or long sleeve shirts, dresses, t-shirts, and even a tank top on a warm fall day. When shopping for layered pieces keep in mind how you plan on layering it. If you plan on using a piece over a thick item like a sweater, you may want to consider sizing up or at least make sure to have some space for a thick sweater. If you are going to layer over something thinner like this silk blouse, then you should be ok to stick with your normal size.
