Summer Ready in Distressed Denim Shorts
Hello Lovelies! How was your weekend? I had a fun filled one with a massage, ballet, and time with family. It went by so fast! I’ve had a busy few weekends, so I’m excited for something a little more chill coming up.
Our weather is heating up down here, so it’s about time to start dusting off our shorts. I purchased this new pair recently. I like that they are slightly longer than my last pair. It makes them more comfortable to walk in, at least to me. For distressed denim shorts, I usually opt for minimal distressing. A frayed hem and a mark or two on the front of the shorts. I love the light vintage wash on this pair. It gives a good worn in/sun faded look. The fit on this pair is true to size. The price is higher than what I normally look to pay for shorts, but I tried on so many pairs and just loved how comfortable these were.
Also, can we talk about this patchwork halter top!!?! I love the design and colors! It comes in and out of stock, so hopefully if you love it your size will be available. It does have a slit down the middle (you can see it if you scroll up a couple pics), so you will need to wear a bandeau top underneath. It would also be cute to wear to a pool party over your swimsuit.
Ya’ll have a great week and thanks for stopping by!

Must Have Summer Wardrobe Basics
Happy Friday you guys!
I always love styling and shopping for the latest trends like off the shoulder tops, statement earrings, and block heel sandals, but I firmly believe every closet should have a great set of staples. Each season has a few of it’s own must have pieces, so I wanted to share a few of my must have summer wardrobe basics.
Wardrobe staples are those items that can be incorporated into a variety of outfits to really maximize your closet. For me, it all starts with the shoes. A cognac brown or nude wedge sandal is a must during summer. They pair great with jeans, shorts, and dresses. I like to wear them when I wear shorts because I think they help make your legs look longer and leaner. They are the perfect shoe to wear to any outdoor events or parties because they will not sink into the grass. I found this pair for under $100 and have been loving them!
Second, you need a few solid color tank tops. I have this tank top in white and black which is perfect for wearing solo with a statement necklace or layering under a kimono, plus this fun olive color to pair with jeans and shorts. These tank tops are thick and not see through, plus the straps perfectly cover my bra straps. I also love that they are a slightly longer in length.
Third, a neutral crossbody bag. I have had this one for a few years, and Sole Society brings it back every year. It’s one of my most used purses during the summer. It’s a light color with a unique design, and it holds everything I need including sunglasses in a case. I just added this new bag from Sole Society, so I will probably be rotating between these two all season.
Fourth, distressed jeans. Summer style tends to be a bit more casual, so it’s the perfect season to pull out your distressed jeans. You can pair these jeans with trendy tops or a basic tee or tank and be good to go. Distressed jeans are also fun to dress up with heels for a night out. The distressed jeans I linked are the latest pair I have purchased. The quality is pretty good for $45. They recommend sizing up, but for me the fit was true to size.
My last must have is a few simple jewelry pieces. Ya’ll know I love me some statement jewelry, but when it’s 100 degrees out I tend to reach for my daintier pieces like these two necklaces, a simple pair of studs, and a gold bangle. My necklaces are from Gorjana, and I love that her necklaces are designed to be layered together.
There you have it, the pieces that live at the core of my closet. Almost every outfit I wear this summer will incorporate at least one of these items. Trendy is fun, but never neglect the core of your wardrobe!
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope ya’ll have a great weekend!

Floral Off the Shoulder Top
Hello!! Ya’ll I’m so in love with this top. Truth, this is not the print I originally ordered. I ordered this top in the tropical print, but this print arrived in a mislabeled bag. I tried it on just to see if I like the fit/sizing and fell in love! I’m pretty sure fate stepped in on this one and was like no you need this top in this rose floral print. 🙂 I’m always a fan of a dark background on a floral print. I think it adds a chic edge to the floral design.
The colors in this floral off the shoulder top make it work well with all the jeans from white to black to distressed blue. Needless to say, I decided to keep this print. I actually went back and looked at the tropical print again and realized I love this one so much more.
This outfit would be perfect for date night, girl’s night out, or maybe even a Mother’s Day lunch. I tried this top on with shorts too, and it’s just as cute dressed down as it is up. I went with no necklace and statement earrings. With off the shoulder tops, I sometimes really like to go no necklace and let the bare shoulders shine a little.

Black Lace Top + White Jeans
Hello Hello and Happy Friday!! I’m keeping today’s post short and sweet because this has been a busy week for me!
Black and white is a go to for me and spring and summer. It’s an easy yet super chic and sophisticated color combo. If you love all black looks, it’s a great alternative to add in white during the warmer months. I went with a simple pop of color with my Kendra Scott turquoise earrings, but you could also add a colorful heel or bag. This outfit would be perfect for Casual Friday at the office. It would transition perfectly to a post work happy hour. It’s also a cute dressy casual outfit for a weekend dinner or date night.
I love the lace detailing on this top for a pretty feminine touch. This black lace top is also great for work. You can pair it with black ankle pants (seen here) or tuck it into a pencil skirt.
I hope ya’ll have a great weekend! Thanks for stopping by!
