As promised, I’m bringing you another Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Try On Session today. These outfits feature items from my online order, plus a few repeats from yesterday’s dressing room diaries. A few of these outfits were also featured on Instastories yesterday, but I tried to mix it up a little and create new outfits for those of you who saw them over on Instagram. I also worked with some fabulous local photographers and will be bringing you some fun fall looks this week featuring some of my purchases. Be sure to keep checking back, because I have lots of fun sale posts planned this week AND on Wednesday, I also will have a little giveaway!
These boots were my investment piece purchase this year. I have always wanted a pair of Stuart Weitzman boots and fell in love with these the moment I saw them in the catalog. It’s the most I have ever spent on an investment piece during this sale, and I’m so happy with my purchase. These boots are beautiful! I styled this turtleneck two ways – casual and work a few pics down. It’s a great basic layering piece and can also be worn alone. It’s thin and lightweight, so perfect for warmer fall days.
An outfit full of pieces you can wear now and in fall! These gray jeans fit like a dream! I love owning gray jeans as a break from the usual black and blue shades. This gray crossbody is my only bag purchase this year. I wanted a neutral bag and fell in love with this shade. I also like that the metal is darker so it blends in well with my outfit.
A little workwear look that can work for both summer and fall. This teal top is a great closet staple and comes in a few different colors. You can wear it alone or layer it under a leather jacket or cardigan. These pencil skirts are one of my favorites for work. I own a few other colors from previous sales. I accidentally ordered the regular version which is why it’s a little long on me, and I’m waiting for the petite to come back in stock to re-order.
I love all 3 of these items, but each one has a small area for improvement for me. The jeans are a little big, and I would need to go down a size. The gray top is super low cut, so you might need a cami underneath or your bra will show. The booties are super adorable, but I’m not sure I love the odd line across the front of the ankle. The jeans I will probably return since I found a couple other dark pairs I love, and the other 2 items are still up for debate.
Truth – I shot this look for the blog too, so you will be seeing it again soon. With everything selling out so fast, I wanted to share this one with you early. I love classic white tops, and this one is a nice lightweight material. These jeans are AMAZING! The perfect dark shade and super comfy. My downside to them is the inside is black, so you can’t cuff them which I love to do with jeans and heels or booties.
black turtleneck | gray skirt
LOVE this work look for fall! You can also add black slouchy boots to make this work in winter. This gray pencil skirt has some really cute details with the buttons and little front slit.
green cardigan | black tee | jeans | mule slides
I mentioned yesterday I purchased this green cardigan. With all the cardigans I own, I didn’t have any long ones in green! I also picked up this black tee, because I added a few casual layering basics to my closet this year. I think it runs a little big, so you may want to consider sizing down. These jeans are my top pick for a good everyday blue jean. The perfect color for wearing year round.
navy top | gray jeans | gray mules
Another wear now look! I love this gray and navy combo! This lace details on this top are even prettier in person. I love buying new fall items, but always include a few wear now items.
green floral dress
The perfect dress for work or a bridal shower. I’m exchanging for a smaller size, but I didn’t want you to miss out on this cutie. I love this floral print and ruffle hem. It will also look cute paired with a camel leather jacket in the fall.
long sleeve black tee | jeans | brown booties
An outfit filled with fall basics. This long sleeve tee is a must for fall layers, and it also looks cute all alone. I wear these out and around the house. These are my top dark denim pick. Super comfy with just enough stretch, but they don’t get too loose. I wasn’t 100% on board with these booties when I purchased. I liked them but I didn’t know if they would work well with jeans. Ummm they do and I’m in love! You do have to cuff the jean a little higher with this pair. I love the dip in front which is great for us petite gals wanting longer looking legs.
Thanks for taking some time out of your weekend to stop by and Happy Sale Shopping!
SHOP THE LOOKS
Happy Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Part 2!! The sale is officially open for everyone today!! I’m so excited that everyone can now shop the sale and take advantage of some of these amazing deals. I have TWO try-on posts coming for you today and tomorrow. Today’s post is my Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Dressing Room Diaries, and tomorrow I will share outfits from the items I ordered online. The picture above is a little sneak peek of that post. For today, I included lots of cardigans, jeans, basics, cute tops, and a couple beautiful dresses. Enjoy the post and Happy Shopping!
First, these suede mules were an online purchase. They are a cute spring/summer/fall shoe, and I wore them the day I shopped. The fit is true to size (TTS). If you are looking for an affordable dark skinny jeans, this pair is a good choice. I have another pair by them, and the quality is pretty decent. I purchased this cardigan in dark green and love how comfy it is. This yellow color was my second choice.
cardigan | jeans
I have seen so many people rave about this oversized cardigan. It was super comfy, but honestly not something I would wear much. I think it would be cozy to wear around the house. If you like these chunky open knits, then this may be the cardigan for you. The fit is very oversized. I am wearing the XS/S.
I always love this brand, and their cardigans are a good, durable quality. They are on the pricier side, but I feel like the style and color makes this a classic staple.
pink long sleeve tee | jeans
I loved the coral pink color of this top, and it was really soft. Unfortunately, it was too big on me. I’m wearing the XS. These jeans would be a great everyday denim, but I would need to size down one size.
striped button down blouse | gray jeans
I’m wearing the small in this top, and it was a little big on me. Other than that, I loved the fit and construction of this striped blouse. Definitely a great basic to wear to work or on weekends with jeans.
long gray sweater | faux leather leggings
Oh these leggings, I LOVE them!! They fit like a glove and are so comfy! For winter, I would wear this outfit with a pair of suede slouchy boots. The gray sweater is really soft, and I love that it is long enough to wear with leggings.
This boatneck top is so perfect for fall! It comes in a few other colors, but I of course gravitated to the black and white. You would need to wear a strapless bra with this one.
blue sweater | gray jeans
I love the small scalloped and ruffle details of this sweater, and the blue is so gorgeous. This sweater could also work with black jeans or for work with both a skirt and slacks.
This dress would be so cute for work or a bridal shower. I like the ruffle bottom, but this could also make you look a little wide if the top portion isn’t fitted. I would possibly consider sizing down in this dress. I’m wearing the XS, and it was just a little loose on me.
Ya’ll this dress is a stunner! The most amazing dramatic shoulder detail and gorgeous burgundy color. If you want a statement dress for weddings, events, or date night, this is it!
embroidered top | gray jeans
These jeans are my first high waist pair, and I’m obsessed! They fit like a glove and are really comfy! I wanted to wear them out of the store. I also love that I don’t need to have them hemmed. The embroidered tee was super cute, but a little too oversized for me. I’m wearing a small, and probably would have needed 2 sizes smaller.
Ok, I had to try this Wayf cami, because everyone is always raving about it. I didn’t want to like it, because you can NOT wear a bra with this top. BUT, I kinda did. I’m wearing the small and would have preferred one size down. I would probably need a little double stick tape, but I think the way this top is built does hold your assets inside well.
Most of these items were what did not make my budget cut, but I still liked most of them. Oh if we could all just buy ALL the things we loved during the sale, am I right?!?! Be sure to check back tomorrow for a look at which items did make my budget (also will be on Instastories today), and for more sale goodies, check out my favorites post from last week!

In just a few short weeks, one of Houston’s most fun summer events takes place, White Linen Night in the Heights. The event started as away to raise awareness and support local businesses in the Heights Houston area. Over the years, I think the event has turned into quite the social scene with everyone coming out in white casual wear to sip drinks with friends, check out local businesses, try out local food trucks and restaurants, and SHOP! The event is held in August every year, so your outfit must also stand up to the Texas heat with temps usually hitting around 100 degrees.
I attend almost every year with my friends, and I hope to make it out again this year. With the event being only a few weeks away, I wanted to share an idea of what to wear to White Linen Night. This outfit would also work for an outdoor festival, concert, or party. This gorgeous white high-low dress caught my eye immediately. I love the boho chic feel of the dress and how perfectly it flows when you walk. The details around the neckline give that added statement making appeal. It’s lightweight material and the dress movement makes this dress perfect for walking around a crowded street on a hot summer evening.
I wanted this outfit to have both a boho chic feel and a little Texas western vibe, so turquoise statement earrings and my peep toe booties were the perfect addition. They complete the look perfectly. The other shoes I would wear with this dress are a pair of flat gladiator style sandals like this one or this one. For a walking event where I will be carrying a drink and shopping, a crossbody bag is a must! It helps keep all your hands free.
Before I end today’s post, I wanted to remind you that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale Public Access starts tomorrow!! I will have a dressing room diaries post up for you bright and early filled with lots of goodies I found in store. Be sure to stop by and check it out before you shop. You can also check out my top picks from Early Access Day HERE. Thanks for stopping by ya’ll!

Hello Ya’ll! I’m going to let you in on a must have item that I almost always have in my bag. Are you ready for it? A pair of foldable flats! As an avid shoe lover, this may come as no surprise that I tote around extra pairs of shoes. Ha! Foldable flats have been a staple for me for quite some time. I always have a pair in my work bag for those days when I need to kick off my heels and run all the errands on my lunch break or after work. This pair in particular is thinner, so they fold pretty small and fit inside a cute little black pouch. It takes up almost no room in my purse, and the little bag keeps any dirt residue from the bottom of my shoe from getting in my purse. I also love to carry a pair for days when I’m breaking in new shoes, in case I get to a breaking point and need a shoe change.
These flats are so chic and comfy. I plan to take them with me on my next trip, especially if lots of walking is involved. I always wear foldable flats on the plane because you can slip them on and off so easily. This snakeskin brown print is perfect for adding a fun statement print to a neutral outfit. I love this shade mixed with an all black outfit or a creamy beige color. Fit in Clouds makes multiple print and color options, and they would make a really cute gift idea for a bridesmaid or bride. I could totally see changing into these after a long night of dancing in heels!
As for today’s outfit, this is one of my top summer work outfits lately. It’s soooo hot right now! My obsession with these Gap tank tops continues, and I’m probably going to need to buy more with how much I wear them. I have been tucking then into ALL the skirts for work and pairing them with shorts and jeans for the weekend.
