Easy Everyday Eye Makeup Tutorial
I am so excited for today’s post!!! I have wanted to share my easy everyday eye makeup tutorial with ya’ll for a few months now. Some days I love to play with different colors and looks, but most days I have my go to colors and routine to get me out the door on time. My eye makeup routine is 9 easy steps and uses 5 shadow colors all from my Mac Cosmetics Eye Palette.
I’m going to walk you through which colors and brushes I use for each step. Each brush and color has a number next to it. These numbers will show you exactly which colors I’m using from the palette in the last photo of this post. I hope you enjoy, and I can’t wait to bring your more beauty tutorials this year. So stay tuned!
STEP 1: Apply the Pick Me Up color (1) using the full side of the It Cosmetics Dual Shadow Brush (7) over entire eye lid to create a base.
STEP 2: Apply the Sun Tweaked Color (2) over the inner bottom eye lid covering about the inner 2/3rds of your eye lid using the Sigma E55 Brush (8).
STEP 3: Apply the Deception color (3) across the outer 2/3rds of your crease line of on your eyelid and in the outer corner about 1/3 of the way in using the E32 Brush. Then apply a small amount of the Brun color (4) to the outer corner of your eye using the same brush.
STEP 4: Use the E39 Brush (10) to blend the darker colors starting at the outer corner and working along crease line. If you over blend, feel free to repeat step 3 and add a bit more color back in.
STEP 5: Apply the Crushed Clove Color (5) to the middle of your lower eyelid using the E55 brush (8). I use this to create a slight transition from the inner color to outer color.
STEP 6: Apply the Maybelline Skinny Gel Pencil (14) to your lower lash line. I use the charcoal color for a lighter look compared to a dramatic black.
STEP 7: Use the grooming spool on the It Cosmetics Brow Transformation Brush (6) to brush and shape brows. Then flip over the angled brush side and lightly apply the brow powder (11). A little goes a long way! I start in the middle where my brows are more sparse and work my way out and then add color to the front portion of my brow.
STEP 8: Apply the NYX Epic Ink Liner (12) to your upper lash line. I start in the middle and work my way out and then do the inner lash line joining with my starting point at the middle.
STEP 9: Apply 2-3 coats of mascara (13). Some days if I’m filling fancy, I will curl my eyelashes before applying my mascara.
Tada – A simple and beautiful eye makeup look in 9 easy steps! Below is a closer look at my eyeshadow palette and brushes, so you can check out the exact shades I used. Thanks for checking out my eyeshadow tutorial! Let me know if you have any questions in the comments below.

Rodeo Outfit Without Cowboy Boots
Where are all my Texas readers at? This one’s for you! Well really this outfit would be cute for everyone, but it would also be perfect for Texas rodeo season! BBQ cookoffs, carnivals, fried food, bull riding, horses, concerts, and my fave, a wine garden all come together to create our Houston Rodeo. The event also helps students earn scholarships through animal and art auctions, so fun for a cause.
While I’m pretty sure it is a requirement to own a pair of cowboy boots if you live in the great state of Texas, I wanted to share a rodeo outfit without cowboy boots for those of you who haven’t found the perfect pair quite yet. FYI – Many online western sites have sales on boots for Texas residents during the month of February! An easy fix to those missing cowboy boots is to grab a cute pair of brown booties. Bonus points if they have a little western flair to them. Make sure they are comfy to walk in, as you will easily hit your 10K steps at the rodeo!
I love this red plaid dress for a full day of all the rodeo activities. It’s lightweight, and I think the red plaid is perfect for the rodeo. Since rodeo season takes place February through March, I usually tie a denim jacket around my waist to wear in the evening when the temps cool off. I also always opt for a crossbody or backpack style bag. I need my hands free for some wine and sausage on a stick.
If you have plans to be in Houston Feb 25-Mar 17, you should look into spending a little time at our rodeo. It’s really is a fun experience and always a good time!

Galentine’s Day Outfit Idea
Happy Friday!!! Who’s ready for the weekend? I have a mix of fun plans, relaxation, and blog work on the schedule, so it should be both a fun and productive weekend ahead of me.
I know we aren’t quite to February yet, but I couldn’t wait to share this gorgeous metallic striped top with you. I love this whole look as the perfect Galentine’s Day Outfit. It would also work for date night or just a regular girls’ night out. The metallic striped details dress up this classic black silhouette to give it a little bit of a statement factor. I love it for when your night might be low key, but you still want to feel a little fancy.
If your gal pals and you are having a Galentine’s Day party or dinner, I love the idea of wearing an all black look and going against the red and pink Valentine’s colors. Although, I would also wear this for a Valentine’s date night too, because it’s so perfect for date night. I added in black skinny jeans which can help make an outfit feel a little dressier even though you are still in jeans. This top needed some fabulous earrings, so I added in these gold statement earrings.
I hope you guys have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

A Year Round Must For Work: The Gray Flippy Skirt
Hello Ladies! I meant to have this post up yesterday, but I went out of town Sunday and due to traffic delays got home way later than expected. So I decided to change up my schedule this week and do only two posts, but I will be back to the MWF schedule next week.
I’m back today with my go to winter work combo, the sweater, skirt and boots. First off, if you need a good black fitted sweater, this one is it! I wear it with skirts to work and with jeans for a casual look. I tossed a black leather jacket over it with jeans and boots for a little happy hour look a couple weeks ago. Super versatile style!
This gray flippy skirt is definitely a piece you can get lots of use from year round. The light gray color will work now with black and dark jewel tones, and in spring with floral blouses, white tops, and pastels. It’s a pull on design and slightly fleece like material which makes it super comfy. I wear flippy skirts to the office every week. I like the flared design of them to add a slight playfulness and bounce to an outfit. They also transition really well to post work events.
I hope your week is off to a good start. Thanks for stopping by!
