Pink Babydoll Top + White Jeans
Happy Friday Friends!!! I can’t believe we are already halfway through May! I feel like it is going by pretty fast compared to April. I was thinking about it the other day that we didn’t really have a Spring season. In Houston, the weather is the best in the spring and fall. It’s cool enough to be outside but not too cold. If anything, I’m grateful this happened during a good weather season especially with all the extra time outdoors.
I previously mentioned that my spring fashion buys have been a little different. I usually can’t resist all the fabulous spring shoes, but this year I only bought one pair of wedges and a pair of mule flats. A very light shoe season for me. I did still work in some fun new spring pieces into my wardrobe. This pink babydoll top is fun to have on hand for a casual at home day, and I can’t wait to dress it up with white jeans for a day out.
I love all the details in this top and how they work together. The square neckline looks so flattering. I love tops that show off the collarbone. I was a little nervous about the puff sleeves, but I think they have just the right amount of volume and work well with the square neckline. For a more casual look, you can pair this top with denim or white cotton shorts. I’ve also worn it with distressed blue jeans and tried it on with gray jeans. The pale pink works really well with a variety of colors!
I have a couple zoom parties with friends this weekend mixed in with some netflix time with Steve. Overall, I’m looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend, a glass of wine, and Steve’s favorite casserole. His mom made it for us in April, and we have been saving it for May when my whole 30 would be over. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Black Swing Dress
Hello friends! I am officially entering week 9 of working from home. It’s crazy to think that I’ve been cooped up in my apartment for two months just heading out for an errand or two every week! I have days where I enjoy the quiet me time and days where I miss people. I’ve always said that I am an introvert with extroverted tendencies. I think the term is called ambivert now when you fall somewhere in the middle of the two.
While I have been chatting with friends and family via zoom meetings, face time, and text message and it’s been great, I really miss conversations over dinner or a glass of wine. Houston has started opening up restaurants and other places, but I haven’t ventured out to them yet. For me, the places are not the same without my people. I’d rather wait until we can have our giant brunch group or girls’ night out at one of the city’s hot new restaurants. How are you doing with everything going on?
I’ve been taking just about any excuse to dress up even if just a little. I used to toss on jeans and a tee to run a quick errand, and now I toss on dresses. I wore this black swing dress a couple weekends ago. It was so comfy that I ended up wearing it around the house for the rest of the day. It has pockets and pretty textured material. For future gal pal dates, I plan to pair it with my new espadrille wedges. I think this dress was made to be worn with wedges! I also added in these colorful bead earrings to add some color. Both my shoes and earrings were delivered right before everything closed down, so putting them on to take these pictures was really fun!
If you are looking to add something comfy but a little dressier to your at home wardrobe, swing dresses are such a good idea! I have been pulling mine out to wear around the house. It helps on days when I’m not feeling productive or motivated to get a little dressed up.

10 Outfit Ideas with Black Leggings
I’m a gal that likes to get dressed up, and I’m also a gal who likes to be super comfy at home. All this extra time at home has me craving a little bit more style with my comfy, cozy leggings outfits. I wanted to share a few different outfit ideas with black leggings for those of you looking to mix it up as we head into another month at home.
In all the pics, I’m wearing the same pair of leggings. Ya’ll I love these leggings! I own multiple pairs, and I’ve had them for years! They’ve been worn countless times, washed, and dried. After all that time, they still look pretty darn good and have held up shape-wise over time.
KIMONOS
A kimono is a fun way to add a pop of color or a print to your stay at home look. Since kimonos tend to be loose and flowy, I like to pair mine with a fitted top to keep proportions in check.

CARDIGANS
The ultimate layered legging look! Cardigans can add an extra cozy factor to your leggings outfit, and they can provide a fun pop of color. If your area is warming up, you can also opt in some short sleeve cardigans. For my base layer, I mix in tank tops and loose fitting tshirts. If you want to keep a little shape definition with a t-shirt, try tying a mini knot at your waist.

STAND ALONE TOP
A flowy top or tied tshirt is a fun way to wear your leggings without too many layers as the weather warms up. Pull out your flowy tunic tops or shorter dresses for a fun work from home outfit. Swing style cami tops are also perfect to pair with leggings. If you want to show off your shape, grab a t-shirt and tie at your waist. You can tie it in the middle, slightly to the side, or in the back.

What I Wore in April
Well my April outfits looked a little bit different than normal! I put on my workout clothes every morning, so I would be motivated to do my morning yoga and lunch walk. At the start of the month, I would stay in them all day and change into my pjs in the evening. Towards the end of the month, I started changing into casual dresses or jeans outfits a few days a week after my lunch time walk. I still kept the outfits pretty casual, and it felt nice to put some outfits together.
Flowy swing style dresses are one of my favorites right now! This dress style is super comfy for lounging around the house and makes me feel a little dressed up. My poor heels probably miss me. I spent most of the month in a combination of my slippers, sneakers, and Tory Burch Sandals.
