White & Black Embroidered Top

We’ve been talking lots about transitioning our outfits from Summer to Fall this month, and this outfit is going to be a really good transitioning outfit. The white and black embroidered top is lightweight and breezy which makes it perfect for a hot summer day paired with shorts. To ease this summery top in to fall, I tossed on a pair of black skinny jeans and brown booties. It’s a few of the tips I shared previously on transitioning summer tops to fall. You can read that full post here for more tips.
In fall, I start pulling out my black skinny jeans more to help make some of my summer tops work in fall looks. Since we have a pretty warm fall, this sleeveless blouse will help balance the look with the warmer weather. A fall favorite color combo of mine is black and brown. I love pairing my black jeans with brown booties and handbags. It adds a simple pop of color to the black and white look and gives you more of a casual vibe to the overall outfit.

Casual Holiday Party Outfit

Ready to start planning those holiday outfits? I have lots of outfit inspiration coming to you for Thanksgiving and Christmas over the next few weeks. For the holidays, I try to put outfits together that can also be worn or restyled for everyday wear. Originally, I picked out this top as a cute date night top. I love it paired with jeans for a dressy casual outfit, perfect for a casual Friday night out with that special someone or a group of your favorite ladies. You can pair it with a skirt to dress it up and wear to a nicer event. I think it would look like perfection with a black leather pencil skirt. You can easily pair this top with any color, but I couldn’t resist pairing it with my new metallic red heels and red statement earrings. It’s an easy way to transform a date night look into a casual holiday party outfit.
Well friends, freezing temps are finally hitting Houston. Well almost freezing at least. I am so not the biggest cold weather fan, and I’ve already given in and turned on my heater. I am excited to pull out a few sweaters and my boots again though. I enjoy the cold weather for a few fashion filled days, and then I’m over it. Luckily in Houston, the weather this time of year is all over the place. It’ll probably shorts and sandals weather here soon. 😉 I hope ya’ll have a great week, and be sure to check back later this week for the start of my Holiday Gift Guides!

Leopard Print Blouse Under $50

Hello Friday!! I have had the busiest work week, and I cannot wait to start my weekend. I just picked up Emily Giffin’s new book All We Ever Wanted from the library, and tonight’s plans including reading and relaxing with a glass of wine. It’s the perfect end to a crazy week.
I’m pretty sure I have found the perfect leopard print blouse under $50. I don’t own too many leopard print pieces because I am so picky about the look of the print. I don’t want it to be too orange, and I want the spots to look natural and not manufactured. I’ve been searching for a leopard print blouse to please my picky eye for a few years, and finally found one! Bonus, it’s only $49! I’m wearing the XS. It has a loose boxy fit to it.
I paired this print with an all black ensemble, because I think it has such a chic and sophisticated feel to it. You could also pair this top with a black pencil skirt for work or a black leather pencil skirt for date night. I’ve also tried it on with my suede skirt from a couple weeks ago, and they look super cute together. What’s your favorite way to wear leopard print? Let me know in the comments!
I hope ya’ll have a fabulous weekend and thanks for stopping by!

The Most Comfortable Heels I Own

A few weeks ago, I broke a HUGE new shoe rule. I wore brand new, never worn, never broken in shoes to a wedding. I love shoes especially heels, I own lots of them, and pretty much every pair of heels I own has needed a breaking in period. Sometimes one wear, sometimes 10 wears, but at least some breaking in before you plan to wear them to an event filled with dancing, standing, and walking around.
Y’all these block heel sandals needed ZERO breaking in. These sandals were a Christmas gift, and I just never got around to breaking them in because well it was winter. I knew they would be the perfect shoe to pair with my long black dress for a wedding, so I decided to risk it and wear them straight out of the box.
I spent cocktail hour standing and sipping champagne and followed it up with hours on the dance floor, all in no pain! At the end of the night, I saw so many women kicking off their heels to keep dancing, and I realized my feet didn’t hurt at all. It was at that moment, these block heel sandals made their way to the top of my list of most comfortable heels in my closet. I’m currently waiting for the taupe version to come back in stock in my size because that color will be perfect for spring and summer!
One thing I love about block heel sandals is how they can work with both formal, dressy outfits and super casual outfits. They remind me of a dressier option to a wedge sandal. I could not resist styling them in this super casual tee and jeans outfit for today. I love the pairing of the tomboy tee and the girly heels. Also you guys, this tee is sooooo soft!!! It will get lots of wears this summer for sure.
