We made it to Friday friends!! I am ready for a super relaxing weekend filled with Whole30 meal prep and reading my latest book, Big Little Lies. I read another book by the author a couple years ago, The Husband’s Secret, and finished in like 2 days it was so good. I have been waiting for this weekend to start reading, so that I could really get into it without distraction.
I ordered this top not 100% sure how I felt about the print online. I figured in person it was either going to look a little cheap or be gorgeous. Ya’ll when it came in the mail, I was so happy to see it was the gorgeous option. It has the prettiest romantic spring feel from the print to the color choices. I love this halter/cold shoulder design, because I think it can be flattering on an array of body types. I can picture it paired with white jeans or even a pair of white jeans shorts during the summer. You can also swap out my sandals for wedges to make the look more casual.
Another item giving me all the spring and summer feels is this beautiful bag. I really wanted a neutral bag to work with all the fun colors and prints of the season, but something with a little spark for days when I wear neutrals or all black. You know when you are looking for something, but can’t put a good enough description on it to tell someone. You’re just going to know it when you see it, that is this bag for me.
The bag is by Elaine Turner who is one of my favorite clutch designers, and she totally upped her clutch game by making the perfect clutch/crossbody hybrid with this bag. I tuck the strap into the back pocket of the purse when I want the clutch look for a party or happy hour. When I need my hands to hold champagne, play on my phone, or do a little shopping, the strap comes quickly back out. I also have to give props that the strap really fits in with the design of the bag and wasn’t just some quick add on. It’s like you have two bags and both are equally fabulous.
Alright I will stop gushing over my new bag, I really am quite obsessed with it though. Don’t forget the times changes this weekend. I’m never a fan of losing an hour in a day, but I will gladly take it for the longer daylight hours that follow!!! Ya’ll have a really good weekend, and I will have more spring must haves for your next week. See you then!

Happy Friday!! I am so excited for this weekend, because I am heading back to my college town with some of my gal pals. My college sorority ZTA is celebrating 40 years at Stephen F. Austin with a huge alum gathering. I am so excited to see old friends, reminisce about the good old days, and visit the sorority house I called home for half of my college years. I haven’t been back in forever, so I can’t wait to get there!
But before I start packing 2-3 bags for a weekend stay 😉 just kidding (maybe), let’s talk about the cutest tee ever. I have been looking to add a few casual tees to my wardrobe. Something for those days when I just want to be super comfy, still super cute, and not in a dress. I love pretty much everything with a cold shoulder, but the bows on this one sold it for me. Okay and the $25 price tag. I love that the bows make it fun and different and amp up this outfit a little bit. I had to pair this ensemble with some gray heels, but I think this outfit would be cute with black sandals too.
Okay ya’ll have a great weekend. I am going to start packing, and we will meet back here Monday where I am sharing a different kind of post, but one I am really excited to write! Thanks for stopping by today!!

It may be February, but spring weather is here in Houston! I have already started purchasing some fun spring pieces, and I’m currently on the hunt for the perfect new wedge sandals.
For early spring, I like to wear tops that breath during the heat of the day, but will also keep warm on a cool night. This oversized gingham blouse will definitely work perfect for that. The material is a thin flannel to keep warm, but the oversized fit really help this top breath. I love the style of this one, because it pairs perfectly with skinny jeans and shorts. Black and white gingham is a spring favorite of mine. Just something about it gives me all the feels of picnics and patio weather.
I had to add a little color with these earrings I am obsessed with and my pink flats. By the way, I linked the heel version of these flats. I tried them on in store, and they are so cute and comfy! I’m looking for leather, but if I can’t find a pair these suede ones may be a future purchase.

What to Wear to the Houston Rodeo

| OUTFIT DETAILS |
Embroidered Dress | Similar Denim Vest | Similar Cowboy Boots | Crossbody Saddle Bag | Gold Earrings | c/o Tassel Bead Bracelet Set | Similar Gold Bangle | Aviator Sunglasses | Nails: Essie Blanc | Lips: MAC Faux
We are just two weeks away from the Houston Rodeo you guys!! If you have never heard of it, think yummy bbq and fried foods, horses, bull riding, carnival rides, and big name concerts, plus my favorite part – a fun little wine garden. It’s a huge event held every March in Houston and last about 3 weeks. All the fun starts March 2nd, and today I am sharing what to wear to the Houston Rodeo. This outfit would work for really any rodeo or country music concert. Honestly, in Texas this could easily work as a brunch outfit too.
I like my rodeo outfits to have small nods to western wear without being full blown. This year, I paired embroidered details with denim and suede. Our weather is a bit warmer this year, so I decided a dress would be a safe to wear. I adore the fit and flare look of this one. The embroidery is so gorgeous, and it’s also on the back of the bottom of the dress too. For a chillier evening you could pair this with a denim jacket, but for a beautiful warm day I would go with a denim vest. I love that it let’s the details on the sleeves be seen.
Of course, no rodeo outfit is complete without a pair of cowboy boots. If you don’t have a pair, booties or riding boots will work too. Keep in mind the event involves lots of walking and a little bit of dirt, so try to find something comfortable that can get a little dirty.
If you are in Houston or planning a trip, you should definitely try to make a stop at the rodeo. There is lots to see, do, and eat. I highly recommend it! I’m suddenly craving a funnel cake and glass of wine. Ya’ll have good weekend, and thanks for swinging by today.
