Today’s outfit is part of a 2 day post, One Sweater Two Ways. The second part of this post will be revealed on Friday. For today’s look, I am styling this sweater for the office. If you have been reading my blog for the past few months, then you know how I love to style my pencil skirts! This high/low sweater from Topshop is perfect for my flowy top look. I love the cream color of the sweater because it goes with so many different colors and breaks me of my normal black color palette. Both my top and skirt are from last year, but I found some great similar pieces linked above. My favorite part of my outfit today are these gorgeous shoes from Elaine Turner. I had been eyeing these shoes for months, and decided to splurge on them over Elaine’s Pink Friday sale. I love that they are a cross between a bootie and a dress shoe. They are perfect to wear with skirts for work! Bonus for you, they are still on sale and also come in a gorgeous taupe color. Remixing another piece from a previous post today! The darker magenta color of this skirt makes it a great transitional piece to carry me into every season! While normally I love pairing a pencil skirt with a loose and flowy top, the cooler temperatures have me reaching for oversized sweaters instead. It still gives you that same juxtaposition I love with a pencil skirt and flowy top, but keeps you a little warmer. I am so in love with this sweater. It is so incredibly comfortable!!! I can’t wait to pair this sweater with jeans and boots further into the winter season or just to lounge in around the house with a pair of leggings. The sweater is going to look great for a casual family gathering and is a classic style that I can wear for years. I am also having a a remix moment with my boots today pairing them with a skirt instead of my normal jeans. To keep over the knee boots office friendly, I try to keep a 2 inch rule between my skirt and the top of the boot. Since I am a bit on the short side, I think the few inches between skirt and boot help make me look a little taller. After all when you are petite, it is great to be able to give the illusion of height especially with no heel involved. Hope ya’ll are having an amazing week! We are almost to the halfway mark!

I was spoiled by first post college job by being able to wear whatever I wanted; I was living the dream! For the most part, I could truly wear anything – jeans, rompers, tshirts, and thin strap dresses. When I scored my first office job, I was nervous about my perceived loss of style freedom that came with it. Office clothes seemed boring and more like a uniform. A button up top, black dress pants and black pumps, the same thing every day for eternity! A close friend took me to her “office uniform store” to pick up a few things for my first day, and I was amazed by the selection! Cute colorful pencil skirts in solids and stripes, sheath dresses in prints and patterns, and dress pants of all colors! Maybe this office uniform thing wasn’t going to be so bad after all! Over the years, I have slowly added to the office wear side of my wardrobe, even co-mingling pieces with the weekend side of my closet. At first office attire may seem a bit drab, but it is all about finding pieces with a little added flare to keep things office chic! One of the things I love about tie neck blouses is that while they are a typical work top, the bow adds some flare to make this a classic work look but still adding a little glam and chicness. If you have to wear a blazer to work, I love how the bow pops out of the top of the blazer to add a little drama to an everyday suit. What are ways you spice up your office wardrobe?

This shopaholic is skipping the stores this Black Friday! I love shopping but I hate crowds! When I shop I like to be able to leisurely walk around, trying on a few things here and a few more there. I also do not like standing in long lines to check out, but I don’t think anyone really does. Black Friday has never appealed to me. I will admit I have never really participated in Black Friday, so my opinion is based on stories from friends and what I see on TV. Even throughout the year, I prefer to shop on weekdays during lunch or first thing in the morning on weekends to avoid crowds. During the holidays, the crowds are crazy regardless so all my in-store shopping will probably be done right when the mall opens! I have found in past experience this is the best time to shop. The bonus you can usually get prime parking! Black Friday for me is all about relaxing, enjoying the extra day off from work,and gearing up for Cyber Monday! Okay, I will probably also do a little online Black Friday shopping. I can’t help myself, I love a good sale! I am planning on doing most of my shopping online this year. I want to have everything ordered this coming week to avoid any shipping issues. I have posted a few online Black Friday sales below that are to good to pass up! Monday’s blog post will be solely dedicated to all the amazing sales and deals I come across for Cyber Monday. I will be updating throughout the day so be sure to check back throughout the day on Monday for the latest offers!
