Gray Leopard Print Top + Spring Reader Survey

Hello Hello! Kicking off the week with more animal print! As much as I love the more realistic look of an animal print pattern, I’m also really loving the different color variations. This gray leopard print top was a pretty quick add to cart because gray obsessed over here! The v-neck cinch detail is a great way to make this top look a little nicer. It’s perfect for work, weekends or date night depending on how you style it.
I created a fun date night or girls’ dinner out outfit. I think this print looks perfect paired with black denim and silver accessories to play on the gray color. If you want to add some color, you could add in a pink or burgundy skirt instead of jeans or toss on a colorful blazer or statement earring.
When I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you all this Spring, I realized that I have not done a reader survey in a few years. I thought it might be fun to start up again with each season. My hope when you visit the blog is that you find outfit inspiration and new beauty products to try out. I’d love to be able to create posts tailored to what you need help styling or the types of beauty products you are interested in. I created a super quick 5 question survey below, and I’ll use your answers when planning out what to share. Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts and feedback!

Zebra Print Top

I’ve already added a few new items to my closet for Spring, and almost all of them are prints. In the past, I have gravitated to more solids with a few prints sprinkled in. I can already tell this year is going to be different as I add animal and floral prints more into the mix. I’ve always been a fan of beautiful spring floral prints. Animal prints has been a slow add to my closet with a pair of shoes and like one top in probably the past year.
So far for spring though, I have already added 3 pieces! While leopard print may be the most popular animal print, I’ve leaned a little more to the zebra print. I love stripes, and I’m sure that is a big part of why I am so drawn to this print. It’s like an abstract striped top. This top is the classic black and white look of this print. I do love the color varieties like pink and gray that I’ve seen in other pieces.
For the spring season, I wanted to add a few nice casual tops to my wardrobe that had lots of versatility. I had a few life changes from last spring with a new job that has a more casual style to a new relationship that means less first date dresses and outfits and more casual hanging out clothes. I still want pieces for grabbing brunch or happy hour with my girlfriends. So basically work to happy hour/brunch to casual date night.
Animal prints are really great to hit all of these marks. This zebra print top is a nicer material for work, and the puff sleeve detail makes it fun for a night with friends. It’s also casual enough for grabbing a quick bite to eat before settling in for movie night. You can easily dress up this top with a pencil skirt, black jeans and heels, or pair it with a colorful straight leg slack. I think blue and green would be really pretty with this print.
Stay tuned this spring for more animal print, some really pretty florals, and of course I still will be styling some great solid basics perfect for every closet.

Valentine’s Day Outfit: Red Bow Skirt

Hello Ladies! Are you ready for a week of Valentine’s Day inspiration?? All 3 posts this week will have a little Valentine’s Day theme starting off with some date night outfit inspiration. Red and pink is the perfect color combination for a Valentine’s Day outfit! I love mixing these colors year round. It’s such a fun color mix to pull out especially this month.
This red bow skirt is perfect for date night!!! The cute bow detail adds something fun and the flared design adds something flirty to the mix. If you want to add a little subtle sexiness to the look, you could swap out my pink sleeveless blouse for a black bodysuit. You can still keep the color mix with pink heels. I went with this pink blouse to make this a great work to date night outfit. This pink blouse is one of those classic pieces to wear in summer with shorts or white jeans and with layers in the winter. With the super flared skirt, you want to keep your top fitted or just slightly loose. This blouse would be a good example of slightly loose but not too loose. Any bigger and your proportions might be off and it might make you look bigger with the high volume skirt.
If you are looking for more places to wear this outfit or skirt, I think it would be cute to wear to a wedding or shower. I’m planning to pull this skirt out again for Christmas parties at the end of the year!
What are you Valentine’s Day plans? We are planning a quiet night in and cooking a fancy dinner. Neither of us are big fans of the pre-fix menus and decided to go out another night and enjoy a full menu selection at a nice restaurant. Stay tuned this week for more Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day outfit inspiration! See you again soon friends.

Comfy Fall Outfit with Pink Sneakers

Happy Friday friends! Don’t be alarmed, I’m not only wearing flat shoes in today’s post, but flat sneakers. Yes it is true, I do on occasion like a really comfy pair of flat shoes for running errands or attending certain fall events that require lots of walking and standing. I recently added 3 new pairs of sneakers to my closet because I had worn out my 2 older pairs. Don’t worry, my heels, booties, and wedges are not going anywhere!
I find casual sneakers are perfect for running errands on weekends. When adding casual sneakers to my wardrobe, I try to find pairs that can work with jeans, leggings, shorts, and dresses. These pink sneakers fit the bill on this one. First off, super cute with a casual jeans and tee outfit, but they also work well with shorts and casual dresses. I did find they run a bit big and suggest going down half a size.
Keeping with my comfy fall outfit theme of the day, I paired my sneakers with a super comfy and cozy gray knit tee. The tie front design is great for my petite height especially when paired with a flat shoe, since I’m losing that long leg illusion from a heel. In addition to errand running, this outfit would be great for travel, kid’s weekend events, or a casual family day.
Speaking of family day, I have a weekend filled with family activities from my aunt’s birthday celebration to a family reunion. A comfy fall outfit like this one will definitely be on deck for at least one maybe both of my family events this weekend. I hope you guys have a great one and thanks for stopping by!
