This coat is one of my last Black Friday purchases I have to share with you. It was finally cool enough this weekend to wear it! Even without it being on sale the price tag is still pretty good right at $100. Since we do not really have long winters in Houston, I try to look for coats under $100. I have several pea coats and was happy to stumble across this more casual coat. I’m 5’3, so I decided to order the petite to achieve a more fitted look. I also added a link to the regular version too. This jacket is super warm, but not at all bulky. It’s one thing I also like about wool pea coats too, no bulk! The faux fir trim is removable if that’s not your thing. It’s attached with buttons, and the coat still looks cute when you take it off. Of course it is warm again, so back in the closet this goes. But it’s so stinking cute and comfy, I can’t wait to wear it again! It comes in a couple other color options, and when I checked all sizes were still available!! I feel like so many of my Black Friday purchases were sold out by the time I posted, so I’m happy to see this in full stock! For size reference, I’m wearing a US 4.
It’s officially crunch time until Christmas!! I double checked my gift list, and now just have a little gift wrapping to do and I will be all set! Remember last week, when I mentioned that cool weather finally seemed to be here. Well I was wrong!! Last Friday, we were in the 80s, this Friday the 50s, and next Friday is expected to be in the 80s! I can’t keep up from day to day what the weather will be, and sometimes I leave my house in the 40s and it’s 80 by lunch. I am officially in layer mode with my wardrobe! I have a growing collection of long cardigans that are perfect for this fluctuating weather. I own a few in gray and black, and wanted a more beige or cream colored one. I was all about adding basic wardrobe pieces during Black Friday, and this was one of those sale purchases. Apparently, I’m not the only lover of long cardigans because they sold out fast, but I linked some similar options for you above. I love to layer long cardigans over dresses for the office and jeans on weekends. They work great over tops like this tank I bought over the summer from J.Crew. When that mid-afternoon warmth hits, I can quickly take off my cardigan and fold it over my crossbody bag. This is one reason I sometimes prefer a cardigan to a jacket. Since they don’t have as much structure, they lay over a purse much nicer than a jacket.
I also picked up these jeans on Black Friday for only $100!! They aren’t that low anymore, but they are still majorly discounted! I have only worn them once, but they are really comfy and have just the right amount of stretch. I was looking for a lighter shade of blue than my regular ones, I call it normal denim blue. 🙂 I’m always a little nervous about the shading marks, but these are in just the right places that they work perfect for a slight slimming illusion. They also look super cute when cuffed with booties! The fit for me was true to my normal jean size too.

I’m sharing two firsts on the blog today, first a teeny tiny peek inside my home and my adorable little pup’s first blog appearance. She insisted on walking through all the photos, so I finally gave in to her sweet little face and let her sit with me. No I didn’t let her eat the cookies, but they did help her sit still! She received her normal dog treats for behaving so well! This little cozy nook area in our living room is one of my favorite spots! I love the chaise lounge to relax in, and Harlow loves to cuddle up next to me. My winter loungewear often looks a lot like this outfit. I live in leggings or these sweatpants all the time around the house. They are both super comfy! I also wear lots of soft long-sleeve tees like this one. (yes, it’s the same from my last post.) I love a bit of a looser fit and length to wear over leggings. I also tend to wear long cardigans or a North Face fleece that I can easily take on and off as my temperature changes. This cardigan is really warm and thick, so perfect to wear around the house. It also looks super cute paired with jeans and boots to wear out too!
I recently upgraded my phone case to this cute CaseApp case that I designed! I love the color purple, but I am extremely particular about the shade. It has to be just the right dark color. I really liked being able to design everything from that perfect dark shade to picking a pre-designed quote (you can write your own too!) and the hearts. I think in Houston we have finally entered fall for good. I can officially bring out my boots and scarves! This blanket scarf is so incredibly soft! If it came as an actual blanket, I would probably buy it! I love how a colorful scarf can take an outfit as simple as a plain white tee and boots and make it feel special. My long sleeve tee is also super soft! This tee was one of my Black Friday purchases. I really wanted a soft long-sleeve white tee. Something I could layer, wear alone, and lounge around the house in. I have heard this Stem tee was soft and comfy. I can confirm this is one of my softest tees!! I am definitely consider buying another white one and one in black while they are still on sale! I’m wearing a cami under mine because they are slightly sheer and I hate if there is even the slightest chance my bra will show through, but around the house I don’t wear the cami underneath because it isn’t that sheer. I’m also excited to welcome my new crossbody bag to my purse family! I have had my eye on this bag since it was released in early fall. I love the saddlebag look to a bag, plus it holds more than some of my thinner crossbody bags. I love the taupe shade because it works with a wide range of colors. This is one of those bags that I can carry year round and for years to come, so definitely worth the investment!
