Red Off the Shoulder Blouse + LINK UP
Hello lovelies!! So about a month or so ago, I was reading an article about Victoria Beckham, one of my celebrity style faves. She talked about colors affecting your mood, and red being happy, optimistic, and strong. She was wearing a red dress at the time for one of her collection launches at Saks.
I really liked the idea of color boosting your mood and making you feel strong, powerful and a little happy too. It was on my mind when I was trying to decide on which color to buy this gorgeous top in. It comes in 14 different colors and prints. I saw the red, and my mind thought back to that article and said yep I’m getting this in red.
I love off the shoulder tops that have some support at the neckline. It holds them in place, so no worries about keeping your top up. The flowy chiffon material is so pretty and moves really well. It is slightly sheer in the body portion. I didn’t feel like I needed anything under the red, but a lighter shade might need something. Bonus by the way, this top is currently on sale for 40% off!
Another good thing about this red off the shoulder blouse, it is going to transition perfectly into fall with some black jeans.

Gray Side Tie Tank & Statement Necklace + Link Up
Hello Ladies! I’m so excited to share this outfit with ya’ll today. When I originally saw this necklace, I pictured it styled with a casual crew neck tee or tank, pretty much exactly like this combo today. I love love love this casual glam mix. This outfit would be so fun for a date night with your special someone or wine night with your favorite gal pals.
This tank is designed with slits on the side, so you can really easily tie one side to achieve the super trendy knotted tee look. I like having the do it yourself option, so you can tie as high or low as you prefer. You can also leave it untied for an always chic tunic look.
Of course I had to pair this gray side tie tank with my white skinny jeans. I mean nothing pairs well with gray casual glam than chic white jeans. Also, I have to mention that my necklace is currently marked down along with a few other favorites seen here on the blog. Gray Striped Halter Top with a Peplum
Happy Friday!! So who already did some damage at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale??? Raising both my hands right now. 🙂 If you shopped online yesterday, you probably already know, but Nordstrom’s site went down yesterday morning and for many it was down most of the day. I was finally able to get my purchase in after work, and I am so excited with my first order of the sale! Did anyone go to the store yesterday?? I did last year and it was madness, so I was happy to shop from my computer this year, even if I had to wait out the technical problems. Yesterday, I posted about my predictions for some of the top selling (aka will probably sell out) items of the sale, you can check it out HERE. I’m also sharing a little look inside my shopping cart below.
OK enough Nordstrom sale talk, let’s discuss this outfit. This gray striped halter top is the cutest top for summer. I have been majorly crushing on all things gray for a few months now, and I have always loved a good stripe. This top put both of those things together for a match made in heaven.
The halter top design has been a summer favorite style of mine for YEARS! I think it looks really flattering on a variety of people. The high shoulder cut can really help give you the look of a more defined shoulder which I think can also make your arms look a little more toned. It’s just a great overall silhouette in my opinion. FYI On this top, It does run big, so I would definitely size down.
What goes better with gray than white, am I right?!? This top does look cute with black jeans and shorts, but I think white skinny jeans are really the perfect pairing. Since the top has a bit of volume, I chose my simple Stecy sandal over wedges. I think the simple sandal really helps offset the volume of the peplum a bit.

What to Wear for a Vacation Date Night

Happy Friday!! I’m so excited because after today, I will be on a LONG 4 day weekend!! It’s going to be filled with a good mix of celebrating and relaxing. I can’t wait. A few weeks ago, the hubs and I made our own little 3 day weekend and headed down to Galveston, TX. It’s just about an hour south of Houston. I love living so close to a beach vacation spot. It’s perfect for weekend getaways.
Today’s outfit was inspired by and shot on our trip. Planning outfits for a beach vacation can be easy, swimsuits and a couple sundresses, but what about what to wear on a vacation date night? I always pack a simple cute top and my white jeans when we head down to the beach. It’s an easy ensemble that also looks nice in case you decide to eat at a no shorts, no flip flops restaurant. Classic black and white always looks a bit dressier and sophisticated chic. Toss on a few gold accessories and you are ready to go!
If you wanted to stay away from heels while on vacation, you could also pair this with wedge sandals or a nicer flat sandal like this one or this one. Even a basic flat with a cute little pop of leopard would work with this look.
Ya’ll I’m OBSESSED with this black strappy cami. I have been searching for the perfect fitting cami for years that was also affordable. I can wear a normal strapless bra with this one and it doesn’t show, It’s not too loose so when I bend over everything is not on display, but it’s also not too tight either which is nice for overindulging or a bad sunburn. Plus, I like the length of it. I decided to go with an XS because I’m a bit smaller up top, and I find that fit my size just right. I’m so in love, I ordered the red and purple too when they were on sale this week. 🙂 PS – All 3 colors are still on sale too!!
