Happy Friday!!  Ya’ll I had so much fun visiting my friend in San Antonio earlier this week.  It rained most of the time I was there, but we made the most of it and still had a blast.  Most importantly, I was able to enjoy margaritas and tex-mex along the Riverwalk.

Plaid is always a popular print in the fall, and this year polka dots are joining in as a hot fall trend.  This polka dot top even comes in gorgeous warm earth tone brown color, perfect for fall!  I love tops that have this tucked in look.  It’s doing all the hardwork for you of trying to maintain that perfect tuck throughout the day. This one has a deep v, perfect for pairing with layered necklaces for a weekend or date night look.  For work, you may want to consider pairing a cami underneath depending on how it drapes on you.

One color combo I am loving right now is black and brown.  It has such an effortless chic feel to it, and it gives me the fall feels.  I featured this combo last week too with my suede skirt.

I hope ya’ll have a wonderful weekend!  We are finally getting a bit of cool weather, so I plan to spend some time this weekend outside preferably with coffee or wine on a patio.  Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Hello! I love that I am sharing my final New York outfit while sitting at my gal pal’s apartment in San Antonio.  I might need to add travel blogger to my resume soon. 😉   While in New York, I was able to meet the PR team for Cinzia Rocca and check out their spring coat line.  Obsessed would be an understatement.  When they offered me the opportunity to borrow this coat for my last photo shoot, I immediately said yes.

Living in Texas, I usually stick to the basic jacket and coat styles since I am only going to wear them for about a month or so.  I loved the opportunity to play dress up with this gorgeous floral statement coat.  The fit of this coat was a dream and would look cute dressed down with jeans or over a body-con or fit and flare dress.  The floral jacquard print had a chic feminine feel to it.

With this coat being such a statement piece, I kept the remaining pieces of my outfit pretty simple to let the coat shine.  I went with gray and black because I think it complimented the floral print perfectly.  This gray and black outfit has been a major go to for me lately with statement pieces.  I usually love to wear it with colorful statement jewelry or heels, and I will be transitioning it to fall and winter with my jackets.

Happy Friday!  This should be an interesting weekend for me.  I am babysitting my BFF’s 4 year old daughter for the full weekend!  I have watched her before for a few hours, but this is the longest and hopefully I will survive. HA!  If I survive, I am heading to San Antonio for a few days next week to visit my ZTA little sister.  I am so excited for this trip! We both share a love for shopping, Nordstrom, and wine.  I’m hoping tacos and margaritas on the Riverwalk will also happen.

I’m starting my fall outfit inspiration with one of my favorite outfits I have shot so far for fall.  I have been skirt obsessed since spring, so this hot fall trend of a mini suede skirt aligns perfectly with my style right now.  I’m warning you I will probably buy more. 🙂  I love the color on this one, so perfect and beautiful for fall.  The buckle details and front slit help make this one stand out a little from all the other suede skirts.  I love that I can pair it with something as simple as a basic black tee, and it still looks fabulous.

I love pairing mini skirts with boots. These slouchy black boots from last season work perfectly with this outfit.  You can also do heels to show a little more leg.  Also, ya’ll this necklace is so gorgeous!!  It has the prettiest rose gold shimmer.  While I think my photog did a perfect job of capturing it’s beauty, it is even more gorgeous in person!  It looks so good against black, white, and fall jewel tones like burgundy, violet, and dark green.

I hope ya’ll have a fabulous weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by this week!

Hello Lovelies!  Ya’ll I had the most relaxing last weekend of September.  After over a month of non-stop plans, I did NOTHING and it was fabulous! I watched a Hallmark movie, read a little, cleaned my place, took a nap, and just enjoyed the quiet peaceful weekend.  One thing I did not get a chance to work on was my post with all the fashion shows I atttended.  Not going to lie, I decided to take a little extra me time this weekend and postpone that post, BUT it is coming!  Throughout the process of planning, attending, and recaping my trip to NYFW, I recieved a few questions from ya’ll, family, and friends.  I figured why not do a little q&a session all about attending New York Fashion Week as a blogger to answer my most asked questions.  So here we go:

Why did you attend Fashion Week?

Attending NYFW has been a bucket list dream of mine for years!  Every year, I watch online videos, and instastories of the shows.  I’ve wanted to attend in the past, but the timing never worked out.  This year the stars aligned, and I finally saw my opportunity to attend.  This year for me was more about living out my fashion dream and so I attended lots of the shows.  Another perk to attending fashion week is getting face time with brands and pr companies.  You each get to put a face to an email.  I find you kind of have to pick which you want to do more of as both can take up much of your day.

What was your favorite NYFW experience this year?

I had the opportunity to work with Clear Eyes and go backstage before a set of fashion shows.  It was definitely one of those rare opportunities, and it was really fun to go and see everything going on backstage from hair and makeup to the show line up.  For these shows, I also was able to sit front row which was so much fun.  You can see more of this over on Instastories under my NYFW highlight!

How do you get invited to shows?

Email everyone! Just over a month before fashion week, I started compiling a list of New York PR companies, designers PR contacts, and brands I work with who are based in New York.  Then, I started emailing everyone to let them know that I would be in the city for NYFW and I’d love to attend their show or meet with them.  A few weeks prior to the show, I started getting invites and compiling a schedule.  You basically have to just spread the word to the fashion world that you will be in town for Fashion Week.  I also joined GPS Radar which allowed me to request invites to shows too.  You have to be approved to use this app, so if you are attending I recommend requesting approval over a month in advance before the rush of requests start.

What is it like to attend a fashion show?

Honestly, it’s a lot of waiting for about 10-15 magical fashion minutes. 🙂  Even though our hotel was pretty close to the main NYFW area, I still easily had a 20-30 minute commute to show venues, then you wait in line for another 20ish minutes, then you wait in your seat for another 20ish minutes, then the show starts, and it’s usually over in like 15 minutes.  I will say the shows I attended were all amazing and worth the wait time!  My takeaway lesson this year, all shows start 30 minutes late.   I recommend being on time, because they sometimes give you a better seat if someone doesn’t show up.  I was able to go from a standing ticket to second row at one show this way.

If you have any other questions feel free to shoot me an email, and I will be happy to get back to you!
