What I Wore This Month
Anyone else feel like January lasted forever and February flew by?? I can’t believe that we are already at the end of the month! Our weather fluctuated between spring and winter which is kind of normal February weather for us. My outfits included layers and lots of lightweight sweaters this month.
I’m currently doing a closet clean out which always means I wear more older items from my closet. You will see a few old or similar item links this month and probably next too. My closet is currently overflowing, so it is a much needed clean out! If you want to see what I’m purging from my closet, I’m posting some items in my poshmark closet. I usually get rid of items that I haven’t worn in a year or so, items that no longer fit my style, and items that no longer fit.
Hope you enjoy this month’s winter outfits and don’t forget to take my spring reader survey HERE to help me create better outfit ideas for you!

Gray Leopard Print Top + Spring Reader Survey
Hello Hello! Kicking off the week with more animal print! As much as I love the more realistic look of an animal print pattern, I’m also really loving the different color variations. This gray leopard print top was a pretty quick add to cart because gray obsessed over here! The v-neck cinch detail is a great way to make this top look a little nicer. It’s perfect for work, weekends or date night depending on how you style it.
I created a fun date night or girls’ dinner out outfit. I think this print looks perfect paired with black denim and silver accessories to play on the gray color. If you want to add some color, you could add in a pink or burgundy skirt instead of jeans or toss on a colorful blazer or statement earring.
When I was thinking about what I wanted to share with you all this Spring, I realized that I have not done a reader survey in a few years. I thought it might be fun to start up again with each season. My hope when you visit the blog is that you find outfit inspiration and new beauty products to try out. I’d love to be able to create posts tailored to what you need help styling or the types of beauty products you are interested in. I created a super quick 5 question survey below, and I’ll use your answers when planning out what to share. Thanks in advance for all of your thoughts and feedback!

Zebra Print Top
I’ve already added a few new items to my closet for Spring, and almost all of them are prints. In the past, I have gravitated to more solids with a few prints sprinkled in. I can already tell this year is going to be different as I add animal and floral prints more into the mix. I’ve always been a fan of beautiful spring floral prints. Animal prints has been a slow add to my closet with a pair of shoes and like one top in probably the past year.
So far for spring though, I have already added 3 pieces! While leopard print may be the most popular animal print, I’ve leaned a little more to the zebra print. I love stripes, and I’m sure that is a big part of why I am so drawn to this print. It’s like an abstract striped top. This top is the classic black and white look of this print. I do love the color varieties like pink and gray that I’ve seen in other pieces.
For the spring season, I wanted to add a few nice casual tops to my wardrobe that had lots of versatility. I had a few life changes from last spring with a new job that has a more casual style to a new relationship that means less first date dresses and outfits and more casual hanging out clothes. I still want pieces for grabbing brunch or happy hour with my girlfriends. So basically work to happy hour/brunch to casual date night.
Animal prints are really great to hit all of these marks. This zebra print top is a nicer material for work, and the puff sleeve detail makes it fun for a night with friends. It’s also casual enough for grabbing a quick bite to eat before settling in for movie night. You can easily dress up this top with a pencil skirt, black jeans and heels, or pair it with a colorful straight leg slack. I think blue and green would be really pretty with this print.
Stay tuned this spring for more animal print, some really pretty florals, and of course I still will be styling some great solid basics perfect for every closet.

Chic Ivory Sweater
Well ladies, you are looking at my last winter outfit inspiration post of the season. Later this week, I am officially moving us into spring, and I’m ready for it! We had a mild winter which I always find so style confusing. It’s winter so I want to pull out my sweaters, coats, and boots, but sometimes it’s warm enough for a short sleeve tee and jeans. I really gravitated towards lighter sweaters this season including this super chic ivory sweater.
It’s a lightweight knit so great for the transitional times of the season or when it’s not quite making it to the normal cold winter weather. I love all the details in this sweater like the boatneck neckline, texture detailing on the front, and batwing sleeves. It easily dresses up any outfit. You can wear this to work with pencil skirt, evening out with a light colored pleated midi skirt, or create a business casual look with jeans and heels. If you are a fan of winter neutrals, this ivory sweater would be so good with a pair of white jeans and nude colored boots or heels.
We usually get one last cold front towards the end of February. Hopefully, I will get a chance to wear this sweater out a few more times. The high today is expected to be 80 though, so Houston we may be officially hitting Spring! I already started putting together some fun Spring looks to share with ya’ll, and just a warning – prints are in our future this season. So get ready for it! I can’t wait to kick off the Spring season this week!
