I talk about my love to mix colors quite a bit, well it feels like that to me at least. My favorite color mixing season is probably fall. I love to mix the dark seasonal colors and jewel tones. One of my favorite base colors to mix with is olive. It works really well with warmer jewel tones like burgundy, purple, and dark pink. This outfit is easily something I would wear to work on casual Friday (probably with non-distressed jeans) or on weekends to dinner, brunch, or just running errands.
These pink suede flats have been on my radar since the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale. I passed on them because I was over budget. My birthday landed me a few gift cards, and they immediately landed in my cart. The pointed toe on these gives them a classic, sophisticated, and professional look, but they have these little spikes around the heel that gives them a little edge. I think this particular shade of dark pink is a major selling point. It’s dark enough for fall and winter, but still bright enough for spring and summer.
The first time I wore them out, the heel felt narrow. The second time they had stretched just enough, and now are really comfortable. They come in a few other color options too. I considered the cognac brown ones, but I didn’t like that the spikes were gold. I love anything with a heel, but I will always consider a great ballet style flat to be a fall and winter staple.

Good Morning! Your eyes are not deceiving you, I am posting off schedule. I originally planned on sharing my favorites from the BIG Shopbop Fall Sale on Friday. But when I started putting this post together, many items were already gone or limited quantities. I didn’t want to put a post up with a bunch of out of stock items, especially since I found some great deals under $100!
While the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale will always be my #1, the Shopbop sales run high in the rankings for top sales of the year. This one is buy more save more, so spend under $500 save 25% and over $500 save 30%. I usually partner with my bestie on this sale, so that we can get that 30% off. One of us orders everything, and then the other pays them back their share. (shh my little secret!)
THE MAIN THING TO REMEMBER is to use code MAINEVENT16 at checkout to score the discount. There are exclusions like Kate Spade and some Karen Walker sunnies, but Shopbop has made it so easy this year. All items included have the MainEvent16 item listed on their description and when you are scrolling through all the things. I really liked that they did this, because I always end up with one thing in my cart that’s not included.
Below are a few of my favorites from the sale, some great under $100 deals, some great splurge items, and a few items that you’ve seen here on the blog. The prices shown are the pre-discount prices. Remember items and sizes go fast, and the sale ends Friday night! Happy shopping and Happy almost Weekend Ya’ll!

How to Wear White Jeans in Fall

OLD NAVY Poncho Sweater | PAIGE DENIM Skyline Skinny Jeans | VINCE CAMUTO Hillsy Booties (similar) | KENDRA SCOTT Tima Studs | HENRI BENDEL Deco Cuff Bracelet | NADRI Crystal Bangle | MARC BY MARC JACOBS Preppy Hobo/old (similar) | Nails: ESSIE Sole Mate | Lips: MAC Craving | RAYBAN Mirrored Aviators
I hope you didn’t pack away your white jeans with the end of summer, because today I have a few tips on how to wear white jeans in fall. One of my favorite ways to wear them is by pairing them with other neutrals like cream, black, or gray. You can also pair them with knits like oversized sweaters or long cardigans. Last, add a pop of color with a fall jewel tone. You could also pair this look with black heels or black riding boots too.
I found this sweater when I was picking out my plaid from last week’s post. Short sleeve sweaters are perfect for Texas fall and winter. I mean it’s mid-October and still 90 out in the afternoon. I also prefer the cowl neck to a turtle neck too. It’s just more comfortable to me, especially if it is warm out. The neutral color palette means I can wear this with not only my white jeans, but also my dark teal and maroon ones too. It is very oversized. I am wearing the XS/S size.
Also, I linked the only place I have found my booties on sale. They have been going in and out of stock, so I am also sharing a very similar pair by the same shoe guy.
I hope ya’ll are having a great week so far, and thanks for stopping by today!

Fall Trends: Blanket Poncho

CHEEKY VINTAGE o/l Plaid Blanket Poncho | ANTHROPOLOGIE Sleeveless Blouse/old ( similar | similar) | JOE’S JEANS Skinny Jeans | VINCE CAMUTO Peep Toe Booties | KENDRA SCOTT Sophie Drop Earrings | BAUBLEBAR Ladder Cuff (double version), Slim Bangle | Lips: MAC Craving | Nails: ESSIE Sole Mate
I am sharing the coziest of all fall and winter fashion trends today – the blanket poncho! I am someone who is always cold. When our temps dip below 70, I start pulling out the sweaters and boots. I love blanket ponchos because you can easily wrap yourself up in them to stay cozy and warm, BUT the current styles also keep you looking super fashionable. If you don’t like the bulky look of some ponchos, try using a belt to cinch the waist and give you shape.
Blanket ponchos are also a must have for travel. They can easily double as a blanket or pillow on a plane or in a car. Plus, they easily make a plain tee and leggings look super chic.
Can you believe this poncho is vintage? When I found it, I seriously thought it was misplaced. It looks like something you would find in stores today. Every time I find a vintage piece still so relevant to today’s style and trends, it makes me want to never throw anything out! I’m going to need an extra closet now. 😉
If you are ready to jump on this trend, I linked a few current ponchos that I’m loving for you below. Ya’ll have a great week and thanks so much for stopping by today!
