Winter Layers + Early Black Friday Sales

Layering is a fall and winter staple for me! One of my favorite ways to layer is to pair short sweaters with longer tops. I love using some of my summer tops and tanks to get a few extra out of season wears from them. I also love to layer printed blouses under solid sweaters! I love to see the print peeking out at the bottom and at the end of the sleeves. You can also roll back the sleeves on the bottom shirt so more of the print shows. I paired the layered look with my black flared skirt. At last check it was sold out, so I also linked a similar version. This skirt is another closet staple for me that I wear year round! You may remember me talking about buying these boots a week or two ago. I have worn them a couple times and they are really comfortable! They have a slight padding in the bottom which was honestly weird when I first put my foot in, but I think it helps with the comfy factor. I have worn them with both dresses and jeans, and they are super cute with both! Don’t worry these will be all over the blog this winter, so you will see them styled different ways quite a bit! If you are still looking for some Thanksgiving outfit ideas, this look would definitely be a cute one!

It is hard to believe in just a few short days, my computer and I will be sitting down to tackle all the big sales and start crossing gifts off the Christmas list! This year, I am headed to a couple gift exchange parties with a $25 price limit. I don’t know why but I always struggle with gift ideas under 25 for some reason. I think because I always find that perfect item for like $30. I was a little surprised to find some of these items made the under $25 cut! I definitely have that mini mask kit on my wish list. I had a facial earlier this year, and I’m now super intrigued with different kinds of face masks. I also love the little elephant ring tree!! I have a similar one I purchased on vacation a few years ago. It sits on my nightstand and is the perfect functional/decorative item!
HOLIDAY SHOPPING TIP: Plan Ahead! Some stores are already advertising their Black Friday Sales!! The best way to tackle all the great deals that will happen this weekend is through planning and preparation. Make a list of all the people you plan to buy gifts for this season, maybe even list a few gift ideas for each one. Also, I love to use this time to snag a few discounted items for myself, so make a list of any items you hope to find on sale. These lists will help you stay on track while navigating Black Friday and Cyber Monday Sales. Sometimes so many deals can get overwhelming, it’s nice to be able to look at my list and regroup a little! Be sure to check back here on both Friday and Monday, I will have a round up of all the best deals and will be updating the list throughout both days!

So first off, the Adele album is AMAZING!! I couldn’t even pick a favorite song because each one has something about it that I love! The album is true Adele with such a feeling of emotion behind each note whether it is that cheeky playfulness in an upbeat song or the emotion of a broken heart in a slow ballad. I may have had to wait a bit for this new album, but it was well worth it!!
I cannot believe Thanksgiving is this week!! I really feel the holiday season and parties kick in to high gear after Thanksgiving. I wanted to share a fun holiday dress, perfect for a dressy Christmas party or New Year’s Eve gathering. I love a few things about this dress. For starters, I love just about anything in this maroon color! The color is seriously slowly taking over my closet. I love the tie at the neck and the open neckline area. The detail is one of the standouts of the dress that allows you to show a little skin without being too over the top. The other is the cute little slits in the skirt portion. You can dress this up with nude pumps and gold jewelry like I did here for a dressy Christmas party look or toss on some over the knee boots or midi booties to create a bit more of a dressed down and trendy look for New Year’s Eve.

I think a sweater dress is the ultimate in cozy but still put together. I have been slowly building my sweater dress collection over the past few years. I love the v-neck on this one and the gradual color change too. Sweater dresses don’t really have a lot of shape, so I like that the lighter color helps broaden the shoulders a bit. I think the v design and shading creates a little shape with some eye trickery. You can also try belting the waist on solid color dresses to add a little shape. I always wear a slip underneath sweater dresses because they are a knit which can be a little see-through. For fall, I love pairing mine with booties and some layered necklaces. For winter, I plan on restyling this dress with some leggings and tall boots. You can dress the look up with a heeled boot or dress it down with a flat boot.
As I mentioned on Wednesday, I’m super excited for Adele’s new album released today!! If you need me today, I will be listening to it on constant repeat!! I’ll give ya’ll a little review on Monday. Although considering I have listened to the first song like a good million times already, I have a feeling I’m going to like the whole album! Have a good weekend ya’ll!
