The holiday season is here which means time to start looking for that perfect dress for your holiday party or New Year’s Eve party! I love getting all dolled up in a fancy dress with lace or sequins. What I don’t like is spending several hundred dollars for a dress that I can only wear once a year. I use to be able to wear the same dress to multiple events, so spending $200-300 wasn’t so bad. But thanks to social media, everyone sees what you wear to everything. No more wearing one dress to all your holiday parties. Luckily, I found some really cute dress options for under $100! Whether you are looking for lace or sequins, or just something simple and sophisticed, I have you covered in the Buy Me section of this post. Some of these dresses also come in multiple color options too!
The second part of this post is the rent me section. If you love wearing expensive dresses but hate the price tag, Rent the Runway may just become your new best friend. I LOVE this site!!! I have rented several dresses from this site for birthday parties, weddings, and holiday parties. I love getting to wear designer labels for a fraction of the cost. Plus, I don’t have to worry about the fact that it is all over social media and I can’t wear it again, ever! If you have never used this site before, you can score 20% off your first rental. All 4 of these are in the $35-100 rental price range. The rental price varies by designer and retail value of the dress. I start my search for the perfect dress by entering the day I need the rental, desired rental price range, and selecting my size. I then peruse the available dresses until I find the one. They not only send you the dress in the size you select, but a second size of the same dress just in case! I always use this option, and it has come in handy once for a low cut sequin dress I ordered for my birthday a few years ago. On top of that, you can rent a second dress for a reduced price. They really want to make sure that if you rent a dress from them that you are satisfied and have a dress you love for your special occasion I usually select for the dress to arrive the day before I need it and do the 4 day rental. If you are interested in using this service for New Year’s Eve, I recommend renting a dress soon! Dresses go fast for that holiday and options and sizes will quickly become unavailable. My closet definitely does not hold all my clothes. I am currently super jealous of one of my friends who is turning a spare bedroom into a closet! Until that day comes for me, I will stick with my current system of packing away my seasonal clothes twice a year. It is kind of fun at the start of fall/winter to open up my totes of sweaters, boots, and jackets. Texas fall and winter is all of like 4 months, so I haven’t seen most of these clothes since about April. It is almost as exciting as getting new clothes, almost. 🙂 I also love to start mixing my old and new winter items together. I love to hit up J.Crew for some basic winter sweaters. They have a timeless look to them, and they are great quality. I usually buy 2 or 3 from them every year. This sweater pairs so perfectly with my new quilted vest from Old Navy. I always have to have something attention getting in my outfit, and this necklace is just that. I love how it peeks out from under the vest. So I am totally 100% one of those crazy dog owners who completely spoils their dog because after all it is my child. If I am putting together holiday gift guides, I cannot forget my little pup. My dog is a toy destroyer! She can easily destroy the toys labeled super durable in like 3o minutes! Kong and Chuck It are two of my favorite dog toy brands because they last the longest in my house. That little Kong Wubba is the longest lasting toy we have. It lasted about 2 years before I had to buy a new one, for my dog that is amazing! Another toy I love is an interactive toy. These are kind of trial and error depending on your dog. Sometimes my dog is all about finding the treats and somedays she just wants to chew on the moving pieces. I have a French Bulldog with tons of little allergies. The Terrabone is from my favorite local Houston pet store, Natural Pawz. They have helped me navigate the world of food allergies for dogs with their vast knowledge of the different food options. If you live in Houston, you should definitely check them out, and if you don’t they do have an online store! 😉 You can’t forget keeping a dog stylish! Ok my dog refuses to wear clothes, but she will put her winter coat on when the weather dips below freezing. The one I have is almost exactly like the one above. It is super easy to put on because it Velcros across the body. When doing your holiday shopping don’t forget the pets! My little pup will definitely have the most presents under the tree again this year. For you cat lovers, I included a few fun gift ideas in the second widget below! Curious what I’m buying over this major shopping holiday? While I can’t share the gifts I have purchased, here is a look at some of the items I have purchased for me.
