Summer Vacation Outfit with White Jeans

Well this post is well timed, since I am about to head out of town and enjoy the nice, long Memorial Weekend in Dallas. It’s my first time heading out of town this year, so I’m calling it a little mini vacation. With school wrapping up and summer quickly approaching, I wanted to share a cute summer vacation outfit idea with white jeans.
I love white jeans during the summer! They can so easily dress your look up or down, and I love how bright colors pop against them. If you need something for some hotter weather, you could also pair this outfit with white shorts. Lately, I have been craving all the bright colors. I’m usually such a neutrals person, but the colors, prints, and patterns are reeling me in this season. This pink striped top would be the perfect beach vacation companion. The bright pink makes me think of Florida or Palm Beach. It would be perfect to pack along for a cruise too.
I think this top and jeans combo could be dressed up with a pair of block heel sandals or dressed down with sandals for a day of touristing. I love packing outfits that can easily transition from day to evening with a few simple swaps for vacations. It’s a great way to save on suitcase space. My sandals are an investment piece, but ya’ll they are so comfy!! I wear them so much during the warmer months. If you are thinking about a pair, I went up a half size on them.
Anyone have any fun trips coming up this summer?? I hope you all have a fun Memorial Weekend, and be sure to stop by on Monday for a list of the most fashionable sales!

Quick & Easy Drugstore Eye Makeup Tutorial

Hello Ladies! I’m back with another beauty tutorial for you. Since you loved the last eye makeup one I did, I wanted to share one featuring my favorite drugstore eyeshadow palette. After falling madly in love with the NYX eye liner pen, I decided to try a few other products from them.
This makeup palette has become part of my regular rotation. It features browns and maroons which are some of my go to color choices. It also has the colors needed for an evening smoky eye. The smaller size of this eye palette plus all the color options make it my top choice for travel. I’m going to walk you through my super quick and easy routine on how I use this palette and a few other products.
EASY DRUGSTORE EYE MAKEUP TUTORIAL

STEP 1 : I always start with applying my lower eyeliner. You can also do this at the end too. This skinny eye pencil is so good. It creates a thin line and doesn’t smudge throughout the day. I use the Refined Charcoal color to be just subtly lighter than a black.

For my easy daytime eye makeup look, I use 4 colors and 4 brushes. I decided to go with more of the brown shades for this look.

STEP 2: Apply the lightest color (1) to your entire eyelid using a fluffy brush to form a base layer.
STEP 3: Apply your second lightest color (2) to the inner portion of your lower eyelid going about halfway across your eyelid.

STEP 3: Apply your second darkest color (3) to the outer corner of your eyelid and up the crease of your eyelid about two-thirds or slightly less.
STEP 4: Apply your darkest color (4) to the very outer corner of your eyelid.
STEP 5: Blend your darker colors starting at the outer corner and working up your crease. If you apply to much of your darker colors, re-apply your second lightest color to the inner portion of your eyelid.

STEP 6: Apply your liquid eyeliner pen to the your upper lash line.

STEP 7: Apply 1-2 coats of mascara. I just started trying out a few Pixi Beauty products from Target. They are a little pricey for drugstore beauty, but I find the quality pretty good. For a more affordable mascara, Maybelline Great Lash is a good one!

There you have it, a quick and easy eye makeup look perfect for everyday wear. Thanks for checking out today’s beauty tutorial! If you try out the palette, I would love to know what you think.

What to Wear to a Summer Wedding

Hello friends!! Can you believe we are already celebrating Memorial weekend in just a few short days?!?! Even though the official first day of summer is a still a few weeks away, I always consider Memorial weekend the unofficial kick off to summer. This means it is time to start transitioning your wardrobe into summer. I have a few outfits coming up over the next few weeks to help you do just that too. This summer I am embracing a bit more color. I’ve really been gravitating towards lots of pink.
I have been dying to share this dress with you, so I’m starting off my summer fashion ideas with what to wear to a Summer wedding. I think this pink color block maxi dress would be so perfect to wear to a wedding this summer. The details like the high neckline and tiered long skirt give it a dressy elegance. The bold pink colors and halter cut give it all the summer vibes. To break up all the pink, I added in my yellow tassel earrings. I think they are the perfect compliment to this dress.
For summer weddings, I love to bring out bold and bright colors. A lightweight maxi dress like this one can work for most attire styles except maybe black tie. Although, you may be able to pull this off for black tie due to the length and cut of the neckline. I love the slightly loose fit and lightweight fabric to work with the heat of summer. My go to shoe for a wedding is my block heel sandals. These shoes are so comfortable. I can stand and dance all night long in mine.
This maxi dress would also be great for a date night, to take along on vacation for a dressier evening, or a luncheon type event. Stay tuned for more summer outfit ideas coming at you over the next few weeks including a fun vacation look on Friday! Hope ya’ll have a great week!

Styled 3 Ways: Black Tank Top

Happy Friday! Welcome to this month’s Styled 3 Ways. Since we are heading into summer, I wanted to share one of my summer staples – the black tank top. I own about 3 different black tank tops. These tops are great for layering during cooler months, and pairing with skirts, shorts, and jeans for warmer months.
I picked up this black tank top from Amazon. It comes in a 2 pack, so I order the black/striped combo. I love the overall fit on these. The straps are nice and wide to hide bra straps, and the front is not too low cut. In addition to wearing these out and about, I also love wearing them around the house as cozy loungewear.
For these 3 way posts, I thought it would be fun to be sure and give you not just 3 outfits, but 3 different occasions too. This month, I went with the 3 most needed – work, casual, and a night out. I hope you enjoy checking out these three ways to wear a black tank top.
