It has been some cloudy, gloomy days around here lately. The good news is that my parent’s house still is water-free, although the back of their neighborhood does have a bit of water. My hometown is still flooding, but the rain is expected to end this weekend with a full week of sunshine ahead! YAY!! I can’t think of a better gray day to post such a fun and colorful outfit, perfect for summer!!
I LOVE mixing colors in my outfit. Some people like print mixing, but me I am a color mixer. I’m obsessed with this pink shade for summer. It’s a super bright pink, but not real neon in your face. It also works really well with other colors. Turquoise and yellow are two of my favorite colors to pair with pink. They also work really well together, so I decided to go with all three for this look. I like to pair bright colors with white because I think it really helps the colors pop.
I am such a fan of halter tops for summer! I love showing off a little shoulder. This one is lightweight too, so perfect to wear outside. It’s not too long, so you can also easily pair this with black shorts or white denim shorts. I also think this top would be so perfect with these shorts and some black wedges!
I am so ready for a fun summer party (hint hint friends), and this is going to be the perfect colorful summer party outfit to wear to an evening party or happy hour. I hope ya’ll have a really great weekend, and thanks so much for swinging by this week!

I took these photos a few weeks ago when I bought this top, but I couldn’t find it available online. I held off on posting hoping I could find it, but no luck so I found some similar styles of this top instead. I picked this top up at the Bevello boutique. I actually walked by it slowly several times before deciding to try it on. I much prefer longer tops, and this one was more like a long crop top. I loved the gorgeous details on it though, so I finally gave in and decided to try it on. It ended up being a little longer than I thought, and the details were just so gorgeous so I bought it. I think it will also be really cute with shorts and white denim. The gray color was also a selling point. It is a color that will work well in the fall when I can pair this top with flared jeans or black skinny jeans and booties.
Gorgeous detailing is everywhere right now! If you are looking to add a few new beautiful pieces to your wardrobe, here are a few things I look for in a detailed top. One, will I need to wear something underneath? The one I am wearing is completely open, so I will have to wear a camisole or bandeau underneath it. Two, will it be easy to wash or a dry clean only item? I hate going to the dry cleaners, so I try to go for mostly machine wash clothes. I put my delicate machine wash clothes in bags like these to prevent any snags in the washing machine from other clothes.
I hope you all have a great week ahead! Thanks for taking some time to stop by! 🙂

Silver Jewelry Always

Before I started blogging, I wore all silver jewelry. I seriously owned nothing gold. I would also always get frustrated when I would find super cute things in gold with no silver option. One day one of my girlfriends’ and I were having one of those random topic conversations and somehow ended up on the subject of jewelry. She was the opposite of me and wore all gold. She convinced me to give it a try, so I invested in the Mia necklace and Chloe studs from Gorjana. It wasn’t long until I found myself reaching for them more and more. I soon added more Gorjana pieces including one of my most worn necklaces, the Mika. Soon I was adding gold left and right from Baublebar and Kendra Scott. My jewelry box was soon filled with gold jewelry.
BUT, despite this, my first love still remained my silver jewelry. I still do think gold pieces are easier to find, but I have started to find brands like Julie Vos that carry some of their pieces in both metal options!! YAY! Kendra does this too although sometimes you have to order from the color bar to get the stone you want. I’m someone who definitely shops in phases. When I first started buying gold pieces, I bought tons because it was like this door to fun and trendy jewelry had been opened, and I wanted all of it! Lately though, I find myself slowly slipping back into buying more silver. For me I consider my silver jewelry more of an investment because I know I will always wear it. I am willing to splurge a little like on this necklace or the Henri Bendel bracelets from Monday’s post. Now I’m on the quest to balance wearing both metals, maybe even mixing a little, but more on that next week. 🙂
Thanks for swinging by today!!

Hey! Ok so first off I had the most amazing weekend! It kicked off with a spin class and frozen mimosas for my friend Ashley’s birthday, followed by a Sunday afternoon blogger workshop with guest speaker Ashley of Sugar & Cloth, and concluded with Afternoon Tea at Bistro Menil to celebrate my FIVE friends who have birthdays in May. It also rained tons, but thankfully not interrupting any of my fun activities! I sometimes find the more fun the weekend, the harder the Monday is, so I’ll take an extra cup of coffee thank you!
I’m kicking off the week with one of my favorite trends right now – the off the shoulder blouse. I added my second one to my wardrobe, and I LOVE this one!! It also keeps with the color that is coming in strong for summer, white. The material is lightweight which is always great for summer heat. I like the length not too long but goes just long enough. The top is an elastic band so with this style you can also pop the arms up and wear it like a normal tee. I really like the tops that have this option in case this is a short lived trend, I can still wear this shirt next summer. Check out that last picture to see this top worn this alternate style. One thing I have noticed with so many of these tops especially a white off the shoulder top is that they are a wee bit sheer. I purchased this top to wear underneath mine. It’s a great length so it doesn’t show even under shorter tops like this one.
Something about the clean white top and distressed denim had me reaching for my silver jewelry to complete this look. I just loved how the black pearl looked against the white, and the simple long earrings were the perfect accent to the off the shoulder look. I also tossed on a few of my new bracelets to create an on trend but still sophisticated look.
Now about that second cup of coffee! 🙂 Thanks for swinging by ya’ll!!
