Navy Floral Top + White Shorts

Hello friends! How was your Easter Weekend? I was kinda nervous that I would go stir crazy with 3 days all at home, but I really came to appreciate the stillness and relaxation of the weekend. The weather was for the most part gorgeous so I took advantage with some longer walks and more time out on the patio.
Since I’m doing Whole 30, it was definitely the healthiest Easter for me on record. I did miss my grandma’s Easter dessert buffet a little though. Probably didn’t help scrolling through Instagram and seeing everyone’s Easter desserts, lol. I did see some cute ideas with the Peeps marshmallows for next year! I saw them included in rice crispy treats and smores desserts. They look so yummy and colorful.
When I posted my Spring survey a few weeks back, I received a request for more shorts outfits. Shorts are something that I have to try on in store. So once the stores open up, I’m planning to get a few new pairs. Until then, I’m going to be styling some of my current pairs like these white ones. FYI – these are still available on sale, but with very limited sizing.
White cotton shorts are a must have for me in the shorts department. I love how easily they dress up a look! With hot Spring and Summer weather, dress shorts are a great option for dressy outdoor events. Much like with white jeans, white shorts are great for really bringing out the colors in your top.
This navy and yellow top fits my versatility desires to a T! For Spring and Summer, it pairs perfectly with white bottoms. It’s a great length for pairing with shorts. You can also pair it with dark wash jeans and brown wedges or distressed jeans and flat sandals for a more casual look. In the fall, dark wash jeans or black jeans with brown boots or booties will be perfect! You can also pair this top with dark blue jeans and tan brown heels for all of the seasons.
I love accessorizing with colors in the top. I pulled out these yellow statement earrings from last summer to showcase the yellow, and I opted for my cooler toned stone bangles to help bring out the lighter blue in the print.

Pink Vintage Floral Dress

Looking for a wear now and wear later dress? This boxy shirtdress is perfect! I wore this pink vintage floral dress out for a grocery store run the other day. Since it was the first time that I’d left my apartment in awhile, I figured I would dress up for the occasion. This dress was so comfy that I ended up keeping it on for the rest of the day and evening. The oversized fit makes it the perfect dress to wear around the house because it makes it super comfy. If you are looking to mix up your at home look, I highly recommend a swing style dress!
For Spring and Summer, this pink dress will also work for any showers you have to attend. This dress is that good mix of dressy and casual. Your shoes and accessories really decide on the final look. Flat sandals or wedges will dress down the look and give you something more casual for weekend brunch or a family gathering.
My favorite part of this dress is the pink vintage floral print. It’s really what sold me on this dress. It is such a gorgeous and feminine print. A heads up on sizing, this dress runs really big! I’m wearing an XXS. I would recommend going down 1-2 sizes on this dress.
If you also follow me on Instagram, you saw that I am doing Whole 30 for the month of April. I figured it was kind of a good time with no plans happening this month. The beginning usually leaves you a little tired, and I have definitely been feeling it. I slept 9 hours one night!! I couldn’t believe it. I think this round has been easier than my first time, probably because of the stay at home. It’s helping not snack all day for sure. I’m planning to spend my long Easter weekend prepping some fun new content for you guys and relaxing a bit. I hope ya’ll have a happy and fabulous Easter Weekend!

How to Style a Maxi Dress for Spring

Hello friends! I hope you had a good weekend despite everything going on. I’m adjusting to a work from home lifestyle mixed with an evenings at home lifestyle. My apartment has never been cleaner, lol. Steve and I broke into my game collection this weekend and played a few rounds of Scattegories on Saturday followed by a minor binge watching of Tiger King on Netflix. We only intended to watch a couple episodes, but this show ya’ll is crazy! Right when you thing you know everything another curve ball is thrown. If you are looking for something to watch, I highly recommend!
Flowy maxi dresses are great for summer! They are perfect for beach vacations because they can work as both a swimsuit coverup and dinner dress. I will also toss mine on before heading to a pool party or just to run errands or grab brunch on a hot day. This one is also perfect for a day at home when you want to fill dressed up but still comfy.
You can easily make these summer maxi dresses work for spring too with two simple add ons. First option, belt the waist. This works for summer too. It helps define your waist and can change up the look of the dress. I place the belt a couple inches above my belly button to add the look of length to my petite frame and create a more slimming look. Second option, add on a denim jacket. A great option for cooler days! You can roll up the sleeves to about a 3/4 length for a daytime look. A denim jacket can both dress up or dress down a dress. I love the versatility of it. For a spaghetti strap dress, it can make your outfit more work friendly. If your maxi feels dressier, a denim jacket can give it a more casual brunch time look.
A few simple adds and your maxi dress is quickly transformed into a whole new look!

Florals for Spring

Hello friends! Let’s get the important stuff out of the way first. With everything going on, I’m still hoping and planning to keep my little space as normal as possible. This blog has always been my creative outlet, and I find calm in the consistency and routine of putting together content. My hope is during the next few weeks to provide you with a space you can visit when you need something lighthearted and well routine. It feels weird at times to be talking about beauty and fashion with so much going on, but it also makes me still feel connected to others and as someone who lives alone, I think that’s important. So know that by continuing my normal content, I am not being insensitive to what is happening around us, I’m just coping in my own way.
Now, let’s get back to spring fashion! I added a few animal prints to my closet for spring, but I’m not leaving my favorite spring print out in the cold. This season, I have been drawn to the more feminine and smaller floral prints. I think this teal floral spring top is the perfect example of the kind of print I’m talking about. It has such a delicate look to it, and the additional details on the top really help add to the overall feminine, romantic feel.
White jeans were an obvious choice for me with this top. White really helps colors pop and makes this light teal standout. It also compliments the white on the floral design and brings this to a more prominent view when looking at the print. If you wanted to pull out the darker details like the leaves, you could achieve this with a pair of dark blue jeans.
Thanks for stopping by friends and stay safe and healthy out there!
