Pink Striped Top
Happy Friday Friends! What a week it has been too! It’s my final week with my personal styling clients. It’s been so much fun working with them, and I’m so sad our session is ending already. It feels like it just began! Work was one of those good kind of busy weeks where you stayed busy and productive and the day flew by. I feel like work days like this also carry into my evenings helping me stay productive at home too. It was definitely a productive week all around. It probably also helps that I took today off too. I haven’t taken much time off this year, so I decided to take a relaxing me day.
If you need an outfit idea for this weekend, I have you covered with this one! It’s so perfect for a casual dinner, enjoying a drink on a patio somewhere, or even brunch. This pink striped peplum top is going to work with so many outfits this spring and summer. I love it paired with black and my brown wedges. It gave it a more earth tone look to me. You could also pair it with white jeans and heels for a dressier look or cuffed distressed jeans and sandals for a more casual look.
It’s a good length to pair with shorts too. All the colors mentioned above will work in shorts versions too. You could also work in some colorful cotton shorts like dark yellow or olive green too. This rose pink color just works with such a good variety of other colors!
If you need even more stripes in your life, be sure and check out my post from last week featuring all things stripes! I hope ya’ll have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by this week!

Happy Wednesday! I’m halfway through my short work week. I can see my 3 day weekend ahead. One of my favorite things to do on a weekday off is head to the pool. It’s less crowded than weekends and a little more peaceful. Unfortunately, it may still be a little too cool this weekend for a pool day, but I know it will not be long before I’m lounging poolside.
Almost every year, I pick up a new swimsuit and retire an old one. One trend I plan to head to the stores to try out this year is a high-waisted bikini. I’ve seen them on a few other women, and they look so cute! For swimsuits, I prefer to try on in-store or order from someone with a good return policy like Nordstrom. It’s nice to try on a swimsuit in the comfort of your own home and take a few days to decide. I’ll even order two sizes to be sure I get the exact fit I need.
A few swimsuit trends that I’m loving this season besides the high-waist are scalloped trim details and front cutouts. I think both add just a hint of detail to the suit. A pool day is not complete without the right accessories! How cute are these heart sunglasses! Pair them with a floppy hat, and you are good to go! I also included a couple coverups. I love both dresses and wrap style coverups, so I found an option in both.
I probably read the most on my pool days which means I need some good book recommendations! Leave me your favorite summer reads in the comments!

Layered Outfit for Spring
Hello Hello! How was your weekend? I went to a Luau themed party with my sorority Alum group and had so much fun! Other than that, I spent most of the weekend doing blog work, laundry, and watching Netflix/reading. I’m big on watching documentaries, so I watched the Amanda Knox one on Netflix. It was interesting to hear all sides of the story from Amanda to law enforcement to the journalists covering the case. If you have any Netflix recommendations, drop me a comment below! I’m always looking for something new to watch.
Now let’s talk about this outfit. It’s probably one of my go to ensembles and one I have featured here on the blog in a variety of different ways. It’s a reminder of what a good solid base for your closet can help you create. It includes mainly closet staples like a white tank top, cardigan, distressed jeans, booties, and a long pendant necklace. All are items that can be mixed with other pieces or combined together to create the perfect layered outfit for Spring. FYI on this cardigan, size down! I’m wearing an XXS.
I hope you all have a wonderful week ahead!

Something about Spring makes me crave all the striped things! Even though it’s a print I wear year round, I really crave it during the spring season. It might have something to do with all the pretty striped print items that come out during the spring. Plus, it mixes well with all my spring floral prints. While I do tend to gravitate towards the black and white stripes, I also love a good colorful stripe this time of year and for summer.
I rounded up some of my favorite stripes I have found in both a more neutral black or gray and all the fabulous colors. I think this blue maxi dress might take the position as my favorite item in the entire round up. I included a few basic items to like this tank top and slip on sneaker that can be used to mix and match with a wide array of outfits and layers. I’m kind of thinking it might be fun to mix vertical and horizontal stripes together. When i placed the pants and jacket next to each other in the graphic, I couldn’t help but think how cute they would look together.
Are you a stripes gal? Do you prefer the neutral colors or a more colorful palette for your stripes?
