Layered Sweater and Polka Dot Blouse

Layered Sweater and Polka Dot Blouse
Back to back black and white tops, but it’s such a classic color combo and great for fall. If you need a blouse to add into your fall work wear rotation, this layered sweater and polka dot blouse is definitely one to consider. It’s a faux layered top which I find much more comfy than layering a button up blouse and sweater vest. The blouse underneath creates a waist flattering peplum flare at the bottom, and the polka dot print is a good professional print.
I paired this with bootcut jeans for business casual look. This top will pair well with slacks or even better a pencil skirt for a more professional outfit. Since the black and white polka dot can give off a gray illusion, I opted to pair this outfit with gray accessories from my heels to my silver jewelry. One great thing about black and white is that you can play with a fun statement color in your jewelry or shoes too.

So ready to pull out some of my Spring items for ya’ll! From dresses to skirts to feminine and flirty spring blouses, I am ready for all the Spring fashion. I love the colors, prints, and flowy silhouettes of Spring. This pink and navy ruffled blouse is a great early spring top. It has a ruffled v-neck detail and full sleeves with a cute ruffle detail at the cuff. The sleeve has elastic at the base which makes it easy to turn this top in a 3/4 length sleeve on slightly warm spring day. This top is the perfect length to wear both tucked in and out.
For a dressy casual outfit perfect for a date night or casual Friday at the office, I tucked it in and paired it with my dark blue bootcut jeans. To break up the navy in the top and dark blue of the jeans, I added in my brown belt which matches perfectly with my go to spring dress bootie of the past couple years. Another work idea, pair this top with a camel colored pencil skirt. Once we warm up a bit, this top is going to pair perfectly with a pair of white cotton shorts and wedges!

Fall Business Casual Outfit

Hello friends! How’s the week going so far for you? We are having a pretty rainy week with some chances for light street flooding, so it’s been a stay at home and indoors week for me. Hopefully, it will all clear out just in time for the weekend!
As we are all prepping our closets for fall, I wanted to share a cute outfit formula for a fall business casual outfit. Now business casual can mean different things at different workplaces, so jeans may not always work. My past business casual environments have allowed jeans, but I have friends in more professional offices where business casual means no suit but still skirts and slacks. With that in mind, my business casual looks do occasionally include jeans. You can easily change out the jeans for a nice pair of slacks too.
For the jeans I wear to work, I opt for dark wash or black jeans, no-distressing, and not too tight. I really love bootcut and flare dark wash jeans for the office. I think they have a very professional look to them. As for skinny jeans, I would wear them but I usually pair them with a flowy or longer style top, again this is going to depend on the dress code allowances of your office.
For fall, a structured sweater with a good fit is a great business casual option. I opt for solids and sophisticated prints and avoid anything similar to a graphic style tee. Polka dots, stripes, and florals are great prints to consider. For colors, I would wear all of them, but you may want to consider staying away from flashy neon colors if it doesn’t fit your office vibe. With that being said, don’t forget to keep a little of your personality in your work wardrobe!
A nice pair of heels or flats is a great way to finish off your business casual look. As a shoe gal, my heels are usually wear I let my style shine, so all the colors and prints are in my choice box. This is where I like to let my personality show through a little. Browns, black, and nude colored shoes are a great professional color choice if you don’t want to do a statement shoe.
If you are new to a work environment, check out what others are wearing to gauge the business casual level of the office. I personally think business casual really lets you flex your style muscles and gives you lots more flexibility in what you wear. It also can help you create a more versatile wardrobe, since many of the pieces can also be worn on weekends.
What is your work dress code?

How to Wear Pastels in Fall

Hello Ladies! How was your weekend? Mine was pretty relaxing, enjoyed some time at the pool plus a little football on both days. I also survived another weekend of my sugar detox. It’s definitely getting easier, and I’m noticing feeling hungry for junk food less. I think a sugar detox is easier than Whole 30. You just have to get past those mental cravings.
With fall fashion, we typically start grabbing the darker colors and jewel tones. I definitely look forward to adding in burgundy, dark brown camel colors, and emerald greens. But just because it’s fall, doesn’t mean you need to put away those light pastel colors of spring and summer. Much like you can still wear white after labor day, you can also still wear those pastels. I wanted to share a couple of my tips on how to wear pastels in fall, so you can keep wearing some of those spring favorites!
First, try pairing them with another dark item like dark wash blue or black jeans or a darker colored cardigan or jacket. I love the dark wash jeans and leather jacket combo with a pastel top. Second, add in fall accessories like brown peep toe booties, tall boots, and a darker fall colored handbag like my versatile brown tote bag. Those are my two main ways on incorporating pastels into your fall outfits, and it’s 2 pretty simple and easy things to do!
